The place was fairly clean and neat. However, there was no security which was a bit scary as people who dont live there, were allowed to freely walk in.This place is conveniently located near tourist attractions so that was a plus.The food was okay, supper was a buffet style

Not happy with the way they treated us, they have no hospitality at all, did not welcome us and did not even bid us farewell. No soap or colgate in bathrooms. No cabinets to pack clothes nicely. No TV. Only wifi is good. There was no electricity last night and yet all neighbors did have. The reviews for this place are all lies.

Awesome vibe. Staff were friendly and on point. Will definitely visit again. Can they add some fries to the breakfast though other than that it was a pleasure staying over. Myself and my team are planning our next stay over soon

We really enjoyed our stay in the hostel. Due to covid regulations they only filled up their rooms to half capacity, which meant we had the dorm to ourselves. The beds were unbelievably comfortable, the location couldnt be better and the staff was very helpful. Definitely coming back!PS.: Thanks for the tip with the biltong ;)

Great hostel! The staff are super friendly and always willing to help with anything. I did book one of the single rooms but they do leave a little bit more to be desired since youre paying a lot more for these rooms, they are quite basic but I also understand, this isnt a 5 star hotel. I wish they had a mini fridge for keeping your drinks and food cold. Maybe a complimentary water as well that gets placed in the fridge everyday? Just a suggestion. The shower is great, water is steaming hot! They reopened recently so the rooms get cleaned every 3rd day, this is due to the ongoing pandemic. Unfortunately not enough guests so theres no buffet breakfast. The breakfast I had was average (croissant and scrambled eggs). Beds are comfortable, rooms are clean. Be prepared to deal with noise from the street, loop street is full of partygoers, it can get very loud so goodluck falling asleep, especially if you stay in the room called Sydney, its right next to the road. Apart of this, the location is superb and close to so many attractions, u can easily walk to the waterfront. Its still a great place to stay. I also stayed in the pods and they are fantastic! Its probably the most spacious pod Ive stayed in.

Good location and comfy beds, however the hostel is not the cleanest. We had the same kind of dusting in the bathroom for 4 days (and a used contact lense sticking on the wall next to the sink). That’s a pity because otherwise there is not too much to criticize here. In my opinion the space in the rooms could be used more efficiently (by adding a mirror or hooks right by the entry but that’s just a suggestion). They offer activities on a daily basis which is nice if you want to get to know new people. Staff is friendly and helpful.

I have to admit, I would have loved this place when I was 22! Lively, international crowd and events every night.Nowadays Can - 10 years older, however, can’t ignore the unclean spots behind the doors. That’s the only minus point. People who enjoy backpacker life will continue to enjoy this place.

91 Loop is a fantastic hostel in the heart of Cape Town! Its location is perfect; just 2 minutes walk away from the City Sightseeing office and Green Square market. The hostel also has a range of accommodation types to choose from. We stayed in the dorm room that has pod beds. The pod beds have their own light and plug outlets and a curtain for privacy. It was like a little home away from home!The hostel also has a bar attached to it that also serves food which is convenient for those who would rather not leave the hostel at night. They also put on lots of social events for each night of the week. Our fave was the South African beer pong night! It was a fun Evening and a great ice-breaker to get to know other people.Overall, I would fully recommend this hostel!

Location was great and the rooms are big! The beds. These are so comfortable for a hostel and are a very nice length. The lockers offer lots of space to store your items. The food was great at the attached restaurant and you get a % off for being a guest. There are so many fun little restaurants and bars nearby as well. Breakfast is great as well!I was in the 8 bed female only room, the only downfall is there is a speaker for the main bar/reception/hangout area just below the room so you can always hear music. It is fine in the night but when it starts at 5:30/6 a.m. it was annoying. Just remember earplugs :)

I enjoyed this hostel. There was everything you needed. I stayed in the all female dorm with an en suite bathroom. The location was great. Its about two blocks to the Hop on Hop Off bus stop. However, during Sunday and the evenings its really quiet.Only thing I think would have made this hostel better if they can figure out a way to have a Fridge and a microwave. If you have the opportunity do the Sunrise Hike with JP.

I had a wonderful experience for my first stay at 91Loop. A warm welcome and incredible courtesy from the staff members, touched the apex of my heart. The staff members have a sense a humour, indeed. This was displayed the first day till the last. I have already told my co-runners to book at 91Loop. I have clarified to them that they wont regret their effort to stay at 91Loop.I got so triumphant when I realized that I was allocated with two lady tourists from Poland and one gentleman from Brazil. Having engaged with the opposite sex, having conversation about our countries and personal experiences, became extraordinary to me. This shows me that there is no discrimination of any sort at 91Loop. Lastly, the hostel is at the center of the town, and it is convenient to those accommodated at it.

I had a good stay, clean bedding, good breakfast, safe lock shelf friendly staff. If you can do something about the parking for people who come with a car. Even if you make arrangements with some facility close by for a secured parking for peace of mind while asleep. I was worried that the hired car will be broken into.Overall satisfactorily stay.

I was during the local winter so in my room it was pretty cold but its not hostels issue I guess because its weather conditions.Room is clean, hot shower water. My bed was very comfortable.

I did like the way I was treated, like I was paying. I asked to renew one more day and when wanted to pay was told the system is down, I can come pay later just leaving my stuff behind. Later on received a call, come fetch your stuff my rooms are fully booked come now get them. No apologies, just commanding me to come get my stuff. I have stayed there multiple time, bringing a group of people but with recent event, lost so much respect as a company.

What a place. Did not expect it to be as good as it was. Last minute booking at 11pm at night. Friendly staff and great atmosphere. People from all walks of life respecting each other in a central accommodation. Kudos!

Fantastic staff, extremely helpful and friendly. Clean although very basic rooms, very nice common area and garden. The location is ideal for walking pretty much everywhere. Lots of cafes, restaurants and night life venues in the area. Many activities and social events take place either within the hotel or in the area. Can get rather noisy if you stay on the first floor with windows facing the street like I did but would definitely stay there again.

91 Loop is in the centre of Cape Town CBD. When you visit or stay at the hostel you will be guaranteed of very friendly service. You will also be amongst many people from all walks of life. Enjoy lots of good food and rich diversity while you’re in the centre of Cape Town Action.

Great location and clean rooms! I didnt like one of my roommate (seemed like she was living in the hostel staying in the room all day instead of exploring the room so it was creepy....) but nothing you can do about it. However, the other roommates were fine. Free breakfast was good too! Definitely a good choice in Cape Town!

We loved our stay at 91 Loop! The location is great, and its right in downtown Cape Town, super convenient, and walkable to some of the big tourist areas. They also have a really cool bar/ restaurant area (The Honey Badger), which has super good and affordable food. The hostel also has nightly activities and optional add-ons for your trip, which mean that youll never get bored. We loved it, and would stay again!

Friendly staff at reception. Great location. Affordable. Stayed in four bed bunk with strangers and felt relatively safe. Nothing was stolen. Clean sheets and towels provided upon arrival. Sufficient standard breakfast provided in the morning for a busy day. Great for tourists and travelling locals alike.

The hostel is quite efficient in booking systems, check in check out, staff etc. Hostel is well located, neighboring pubs, bars and restaurants, craft markets. Its only a 15 min walk to the water front. Guests really have a good time here for theres a bar in ground floor where they can gather to either have a beer or a bite, watch TV, chat and play games like ping pong, pool. Another high point is the killer breakfast! All you can eat cereals, fruits salad, scrambled eggs and toast. A real morning feast! Prepares you for the whole day activities.Bedrooms dont have a/c nor ceiling fans, theyre only equipped with standing fans, which are quite inefficient for a 6-bedded dorm, plus theyre noisy. I had a hard time having a good night sleep in here.

We had a great stay. The facilities were clean and comfortable. The street below was very noisy, but there is nothing that can be done about that. The location was superb and the staff was very friendly. We will visit again!!

Omg this place was out of this world. I did not expect such comfortable beds. Its so clean. Im just so impressed. Well Done to the team.

I stayed in the 6-bed mixed dorm. Each bed had its own built in night stand with plugs and light and a locker for you bags. The room also had 1 tap, 1 tap + 1 toilet, and 1 shower. Good and clean facilities. Breakfast was good (yogurt, toast, cheese, egg (although this goes out fast), fruit salad, and some juice). Theres a guard at the entrance for safety. I was allowed to store my luggage on the day I had to leave so that I can take advantage of the last day, and was also allowed to shower at their facilities.I was there during October, so not the high season, so they did not have too many activities planned out or available tours; besides the free city walking tour (with Free City Walking Tour).

I had a great time at 91 Loop. The staff is super nice and always available for questions.Check in and check out were easy.The free wifi and breakfast is great!The dorm rooms as well as bathrooms are clean and you can lock away your stuff, which is good.I totally recommend staying with these guys!

I recently stayed at 91 Loop for 3 nights in a private room and had a fantastic experience. My room was clean and bright, the staff went above and beyond, the hostel’s restaurant was delicious and affordable. There are always friendly guests in the lobby, and the staff is happy to answer any questions you may have. I will absolutely stay here again when I come back to Cape Town!

Very clean and functional, despite Cape Towns water restrictions. Relatively convenient location. Excellent breakfast. Overall great value for money! My only complaint is that the top bunk in the dorm was quite uncomfortable to climb in and out of. The lack of any railing on the side might also be worrisome for anyone who rolls around more in their sleep.

91 Loop is very conveniently located in Cape Town. I enjoyed staying there because it was affordable and easy to get to just about anywhere in the Cape Town area. The staff at 91 Loop were very kind and helpful. This hostel offered fun entertainment, good drinks and overall decent food (free breakfast included). The location offers comfortable private rooms as an option, and I did enjoy my private room. The only real complaints that I had were that there is no elevator or air conditioning at 91 Loop. My room was on the top floor, so it would have been nice to have an elevator as an option. I returned home at the end of October right when it started to get hot in Cape Town, so it would have been best to have had air conditioning. It would also have been nice to have a television in my private room.

We enjoyed our stay. The place has a really good vibe, our room was clean and nice. It would be better if the room had a full height mirror and more surfaces to put our things on. And there was a lack of hot food (like eggs, bacon, etc) for a breakfast. But overall everything was pretty good, especially very nice and friendly staff.

A lively hostel. The staff were friendly and the room was spacious and clean. There were large lockers under the beds where you could store your bags, and power sockets above each bed. My dorm for 8 girls had two toilets, which I thought was excellent. The restaurant/bar downstairs was a great place to get food and meet other people.It was quite noisy and the walls were thin, but this personally didnt bother me. My bedsheets seemed to have sand in them (?) but smelt clean.

This was my first experience of staying in hostel accommodation, however, it was peaceful and homely.Additionally, the complimentary breakfast created in me an experience of home away from home. In it all, I look forward to a return to your hostel accommodation. Thank you.

The 91 Loop Team was very friendly and welcomed every guest with open arms. When you have any questions they are more than happy to help you with it.The atmosphere at the hostel was very warm and comfortable. I really enjoyed the evenings where you had the chance to get to know other travellers while enjoying a beer and playing games.The hostel itself was in a very central position, close to the main things. The rooms were very organized and clean.

91 Loop is a fantastic option for anyone looking to truly experience Cape culture as well as meet different people from all around the world. Not only are the facilities clean and comfortable, but the people are warm and welcoming. It is conveniently situated right in the middle of town and so everything is just a walk away. The downstairs area was always full of life with a new event taking place every night. All in all, the most unique accommodation experience I have every received :D

That was an amazing experience to stay at 91 Loop Hostel. All of the personnel were always helpful and smiling. The room, the bed and the hostel generally were more than clean. The housekeeping did a great job, every day they were re making my bed! It feels like a home to me. Each time I visit Cape Town, that is going to be the home I will stay!

Lovely boutique style hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. The pod bed is comfortable however it can be stuffy inside the pod. There is cigarettes smell in the room too. Overall it was a pleasant stay and would come back again.

I came back home rejuvenated. The place was clean, comfortable, enough space (except for the lockers), bedding was very nice and crisp. Staff was friendly and there was a very nice relaxing atmosphere. The institution is very flexible, and that is awesome, considering that some things are beyond the patrons control.

It is an amazing place to stay at a very affordable price! My sister and I enjoyed the time we spent there, the service, the breakfast buffet, the high speed WiFi (Yes!) and the relaxed environment. The hostel is also located at a strategic point. so we were close to most of the touristic sites :-)Overall, it was definitely great meeting people from different cultures. Well done guys!

Very friendly setting. Prime location. Cheerful and helpful staff. Clean linen and bright bathrooms. Ceiling fans could have been installed in rooms as the standing fans do not circulate air throughout the room. Awesome value for money though.

91 Loop is quite a luxe hostel, theres really nothing I can fault them for, except perhaps the lack of kitchen facilities which many budget backpackers rely on. Its like a hostel with hotel type services (they clean the rooms daily and will make your bed if youd like them to). Nice en suite toilets and showers (with hot water). Cape Town has so many amazing and affordable options for food that I enjoyed exploring restaurants, cafes and markets nearby. Location is in the city-center which makes many points in Cape Town walkable, including the V&A Waterfront. The locker in my 6-bed dorm was huge, underneath the bunk bed, so I could fit all my luggage securely. Ive stayed at several hostels in Cape Town & this one is well-managed and a good value for money. I plan to stay again soon!

91 Loop is an amazing place to stay. Great location, right in the city centre near bus stops. There is strong wifi across the entire establishment and even though CT is going through water issues, there was no lack of water and I could comfortably take my 3 minute showers with no problem. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the breakfast is most welcome. I would definitely stay here again.

A beautiful backpackers in a great location. I really liked that each dorm had their very own well spaced lockers to protect your belongings. I felt extremely safe and comfortable. Very clean and well looked after! All of the staff were very friendly and welcoming...Especially Arnold😎

Really nice and modern hostel. Beds were really clean and room service really caring. We had a little problem with our Toilet which was fixed within a couple of days. Id really recommend this as its also in the heart of Cape Towns nightlife and interesting sites.

I really enjoyed staying in 91 Loop. Great location for tours, restaurants, bars, museums, waterfront and many other activities. The staff are very friendly and helpful; there are many activities to do in the hostel and there you can meet people; the bar-restaurant is very good; rooms are very clean and comfy. It is in fact one of the best hostels I have stayed at.

One of the best hostels Ive ever stayed in! 91Loop ticks off all the boxes for friendliest service, top cleanliness, super comfy beds with a proper pillow, very spacious bathroom and shower, the latter with good flow of water, and tasty food and attentive service at the restaurant ! Could do with a bench/hanger to put your clothes/towel on in the bathroom, but otherwise a 11+/10 score from my side!Would definitely recommend 91Loop to my friends!Keep it up!!Sarah xxx

What a fabulous hostel, it was my first time staying in a hostel and 91 could not of done a better job of making me feel welcome. The managers and staff are fabulous. There is always plenty to do with activities in the hostel. They are super helpful when arranging activities outside the hostel too. All the staff are keen to help and provide very useful information. I was planning on only staying 1 week but ended up staying for three! JPs trek up table Mountain was a exellent and he is always very helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend 91 loop Street for anyone staying in Cape Town

This hostel is very conveniently located in Town. Close to all the attractions and in a safe place that is alive 24/7! The rooms are clean and functional with all the services you need: little personal light, mini bed-table, plugs and storage for your luggage. You have to have your own locker or buy one for R20. The breakfast is varied and healthy and served from 7 till 10. People working there are absolutely helpful and friendly.I strongly reccomend this place. Is close to Long st but not as noisy as that so it makes the perfect spot to discover the Mother city at your own pace!

Nice place, clean, well located. The attendants works as a machine. Everything you say and ask they stay with the same face and seems didnt hear you. Unless the local attendants that has so much difficulty to understand english but tries to help in anything

This hostel is the best! absolutely the best hostel I have ever been so far. The location in Loop Street is superb surrounded by restaurants and bars. The staffs are lovely and ready to help you 24 hours. I will definitely go back to this hostel whenever I visit to Cape Town

I really enjoyed my stay at 91 Loop. The beds were comfortable with lovely bedding. Rooms extremely clean and very helpful staff. Only thing I would recommend is getting a nice chill area where there is perhaps a TV with couches and not just the courtyard as there isnt much space. All in all I really enjoyed the experience.

I stayed at 91 Loop for 6 nights.It is a wonderful hostel with international standards, and well equipped including charging points for each bed.The hostel is conveniently located in the best place in the city, and a between 5 to 15 minutes walks take you to all the best places in town, including waterfront and its.I highly recommend 91 Loop hostel, and I m staying there myself next time I will go to Cape Town.

Great staff, nice location if you want to be in the city centre. Downstairs at the lobby can be very noisy at night. Not for those who love the quietness of a lobby area.The pod room airconditioner was working when I visited last in 2016. In my 2018 visit it wasnt working.On the whole, It is a great place to stay.

What a fantastic place to spend some time! We were a very large group of 45, and the staff did everything they could to accommodate us and make sure our stay was the best it could be! I have stayed with big groups in other hostels in Cape Town and none of them have been as clean and with such great facilities as 91 Loop. Their big open bar area is the perfect place to chill out and the staff are always helpful and friendly. The rooms are spacious and have private bathrooms, which is such a luxury! One night we ordered some food for the group and everything was perfect! We will defiantly be coming again and I can recommend it to all! Thank you!

Very lovely and clean place. Staff are very friendly and help you out in any way they can to ensure your stay not just in 91 Loop but in Cape Town is very pleasant and activity filled. Their prices are superb and they also organize activities throughout the week. They also have free games and their lounge area is very pleasant with cool music and sometimes a dj. Their breakfast is also great. Lastly they have free WiFi which is quite fast.

Great location, close to pubs and restaurants and to the city pass bus stop from which all the city sightseeing bus routes depart (170 meters away). Breakfast is good, though lacfree and gluten free items are not available. Due to poor acoustics, rooms can get a bit noisy. No plug or shelves in the bathroom. Space for only one guests luggage in the twin rooms.

91 Loop set the bar very high for all our other accommodations. Super comfy beds, very clean rooms/bathroom, helpful staff, cool bar with food available.Only reason I didnt give a higher score was:a) there is no self-catering option or kitchen available for personal useb) the smoking section in the Honey Badger is open to the rest of the bar, so smoke inevitably wafts over to non-smokers. When we asked the staff to close the doors they said theyd check, then closed them a smidge...which had little effect.c)If you have an outside room facing longmarket (as we did) or loop, close your windows overnight as the market vendors start moving their stalls from a warehouse next door at 6am which is very noisy!

One of the best hostel Ive been in. Thats where you want to be. Staff is great, vibe is awesome. Chill, make it easy to meet your roomates. Many locals are hanging out there which gives an opportunity to connect with them as well, not only with tourists. Will go back soon or later.
