No words to say except I love every moment I have spent there. People are great and so friendly that cant be described, you have to go there and experience it. You can get surfing lessons (Doug is great surfer and teacher), rent a wet suit and surf board, you can sleep, eat and drink at at The Commons...full package. Anything else? Just smile and dont forget to enjoy.

This is a new venture and place is called The Common. It has a bar, restaurant and certain nights they have live entertainment. There is a yoga studio that doubles as a music room. They have a verandah that spans the entire building and you can sit and enjoy a drink or play chess with the best view in Muizenberg with the majestic False Bay and the mountain making you feel that you have been welcomed to partake in the beauty of this surroundings and you will leave rejuvenated! ❤❤

Ive been to the shop here a few times for coffee and to purchase items. Today though I was desperate for the loo and knew there was a bathroom there. A gentleman blocked me off and refused to let me enter. I have never been chased away like that. Absolutely disgusting. I will definitely mention it to everyone I know to save them from being treated that way. I understand its not a public toilet as he mentioned, but have a bit of decency!!!!

Fantastic stay. The owner, Jamie, is so kind and incredibly accommodating. The hostel is right on the beach, and you can rent boards and a wetsuit in-house. It is located right next door to tons of great restaurants and a grocery store. The room was sparkling clean, and the hot water was great. I would absolutely stay here again. Thanks all!

I didn’t choose this hostel myself, my host in CPT did, which was generous and well-meaning, also the only reasonable choice considering distance from his place. However I think it’s fair to let anyone know for whom the following matter, ahead of their choice of this hostel. The pros.:+location (beach, fun pub and great cafes and restaurants nearby)+staff (super friendly)+price+guests (as always in hostels!)And the cons:- over the weekend I didn’t notice any cleaning taking place. Also not in the shared bathrooms. Sheets of checked out guests laid around for days.- beds are not longer than 180cm- no bed lights- electric plugs only available in one corner of the room- the towels available smelled like they do when they have been dried in a room without ventilationAgain these are what I see as the good and the bad, for some people these things may not be regarded as too important.Suggestion: ask for a bed in a room which is as far from the railway as possible. Unless you actually want to be woken up early-early, because then you won’t have to bother about setting a wake up alarm.

Best place to stay for surfers. Very close to all restaurants, beach view is best, best prices, security (fingerprint access).Cons. Not sure if all rooms will have sea side view, toilets are outside the room(not private).

Pretty laid back... They have an open mic session on Monday evenings if you are into music and meeting new people. You dont even need to be a surfer to have a great time there...

This is one of my favourite spots to overnight in this part of Cape Town. The sea views are unrivalled from many rooms and the common areas when you just want to relax and enjoy being. There are also yoga classes is an airy, bright studio to set the day off on the right foot. There is surf gear available for hire, since the sea is friendly and inviting to beginners, with a long beach to walk (but dont go too far down, as the have been reports of muggings way down the beach, just saying). The owner is a veteran backpacker himself and knows what his clientele likes, because he likes the same, and has made a place for you to feel welcome.

A nice beach-front accommodation for solo or group travelers right on the outskirts of crowded main Capetown. Nice beach view from all windows. A surfers paradise with cafes & fine dining restaurants on the street facing the sea.
