Trailing up to the diving board was probably the hardest yet most fun hike of my life. Not very steep but rocky. There were no overgrown shrubs on the trail. Pack some water and youll be set. The views are amazing.

A lovely hike, for beginners. Not your average easy walk, but something that is challenging, but with views that will entice you to keep moving forward and upward. Nor to mention the surfboard once upon the peak!

My favourite hike by far. Starting from here leaves you many options, with the obvious being Kasteelpoort. You can also access Corridor, Porcupine, Diagonal as well as Woody Ravine and the pipetrack. The start is quite tough, same as Lion’s Head, which discourages a lot of people - but it lasts only 2-4min and then you get to pipetrack which is relatively flat and you can access your trail of choice from there.

Kasteelspoort is a lovely hike. You can choose to go as far as you like before turning back. Even on an overcast day in Spring its refreshing. Some steep bits which some may need help with but there are chains to hold onto.

This route is very pleasant. It has a great view of the ocean and lots of flora. The path is more on the easy side of Table Mountain routes while still giving a great experience plus it is much less crowded than Platteklip Gorge. If I come here I usually go up Kasteelpoort and down Woody ravine.

The view is therapy. I started from Constantia Nek and go down woody Ravine. There are always people so if you are alone you can go and meet up others along the way.

One of the easier routes to the top of the mountain. The path ends near the 2 dams on top of the mountain from which there are many places to see. A lovely 2 hour hike for beginner hikers of table mountain. The path is easy to follow and paths are mostly marked out. For the best experience, I would recommend going with someone who knows the mountain.

Taking the Theresa Avenue jeep track to access any of the routes from the Pipe Track trail is a popular option and as such quite busy and there is no dedicated parking at the entrance. You have to park on the narrow streets in the area. The initial ascent is quite steep but tapers off at the junction to Pipe Track. From the Pipe Track you can ascend via any of the ravines (including Kasteelpoort, Woody, Diagonal, etc).

Easy to find! Google Maps directs you to the exact starting point. Be cautious on your drive up, as the roads are very narrow with sudden sharp turns. Parking is also not the best - better to lift club/carpool. Absolutely beautiful!

Kasteelspoort is an amazing hike. We started from Theresa Ave in Camps Bay. Its not too intense the initial climb is quite steep. Beautiful views from the top. Their is a view point called the diving board (one of the pics below.) Once at the top you can explore and venture off on some other trails, there are a few other options down but will add quite a bit of time. You can also take the cable car down. Took us 3.10 hrs up and down (6.5km round trip / Elevation gain 615m) with a 20 min chill/snack/pics at the top. Highly recommend this hike. Make sure to have enough water and a warm top as the weather can change quickly at the top.

The hike starts at a small road. A dirt road leads up to the hiking stairs. Most parts are marked and easy to find. Make sure to go early in the morning as the sun gets really strong. There are no trees to give shade on the way. The Diving Board on the top is most rewarding! Stunning view over camps bay.

Beautiful part of the mountain to hike and in my own personal experience very safe , friendliest hiking community , this area of the mountain has been maintain very well its unusual to see any litter or dig mess , beautiful places to explore including my favourite woody Ravine, wear good shoes with solid grip as sone paths are scramble paths. Its a gentle home ifvyou follow the pipe track . Abundance of bird life and stunning views of the mountain as you come out of woody Ravine.

The path up Kasteels is old but well built and maintained. One of the classic types. The views are unbeatable and equal to so many other paths up Table Mountain. A visit to the site of the old cable car station at the top of KP that transported the materials for the building of the reservoirs, around 1900, on top is an interesting detour.

Long and though route up with many steps and rocks but beside that the views are amazing and even though it looks high and looks like it will take many hours, it is not that bad. The best is when you are walking down except your feet start to hurt. But when you get to the top, you will notice that it was worth it.
