If you have time to kill, and want to treat yourself and fellow hiking enthusiasts, just get up and follow any of the many routes on the mountaintop. Especially from Kirstenbosch side, with Skeleton Gorge, it is a great start and from that point it is easy to go to either Table Mountain proper or to the reservoirs or other routes down in all directions.
Relative easy hike up Platteklip, the views are phenomenal
Well worth the effort to climb (or: take the cable car, if thats your thing)! We went up Skeleton Gorge, which climbs steadily towards a beach (!) over the course of about 2 hours.Once you reach the top, its hard to comprehend that youre still not that far from a major metropolis. We were there on a Sunday afternoon, and while there were plenty of other hikers, we never really felt crowded.Keep and eye on the weather, you if you intend to use the cable car to get back down, make sure you follow their account on Twitter for updates.
With a choice of trail options Table Mountain is still an incredible hike destination. If hiking is not your thing there is always the cable car option with the obligatory tourist traps and food options.
Lovely hike, awesome views, friendly people - nature as God intended it to be.
Beautiful views of table mountain.
On a sunny day you get a spectacular view but you might have to be fast to avoid the clouds
Must see. Wonderful view. Worth waiting to go up there
A world renowned natural space.
Great, beautiful place. Very expensive
It is a great place with a great view. Make sure to look out for rock dassies and the less common sunbirds!
Alone in the stormy rain on top of table mountain. Anyways, great place!

Long lines, but worth the wait to get to the top.
