I often make use of government hospitals and clinics and am always astounded at the quality of treatment received. The only down-side is that you often have to wait to be seen to. The emergency unit is the exception to this as they will tend to you a lot quicker, depending on the nature of the emergency.

I give it three stars because u get the right medication there. Thoroughly checked up etc. It is the only Hospital that could accommodate me with my cancer. But Omg did I have a very different experience with the staff at the emergency! I was taken in by ambulance who came to fetch me in gatesville which is not fr from the hospital 2hrs later. When I got there I was helped immediately maybe because I came in with ambulance. The sister immediately showed impatience when I asked if I could move my body a little cos the thin mattress was very uncomfortable on the hard steel bed. Which was the least of my worries. I had been experiencing breathing problems and was put on nebuliser and oxygen at hospital. The doctor gave me my morphine two hours late everytime I asked for it. The sister just looked at me when I asked for water (I was dehydrated) and later tells someone else to get it while she is taking her time writing things down which was also important I am sure. But come on where is ur heart at! I had to get off my high bed to a toilet very far I was huffing and puffing past everyone, not one student doctor, nurse or security standing with his hands in his pockets offered to help. Pointed out to the toilet with the heaviest door god alone knows wear I got the power to push it open🙏😭😭 I was motivating myself in my mind all the time. 20 more steps etc. Finally, on my way back.. Still huffing and puffing, now even louder I am starting to panic because again I feel my airways closing and getting more difficult to walk... I walk past a lot of student nurses with their seniors.. No one asks or offers to help.. Suddenly a young lady(God bless her) hugs me in and says I must keep quiet and just breathe.. The noise was incontrable of course, I am shy and timid, wasnt intentional. We get to the bed I reach out for my mask...
