A huge thanks to the RMC Maternity Ward Nurses who attended to me and my newborn during my stay. As a first time Mom and not being able to have my husband with me, it was a very scary and uncertain time, but the days flew by and was extremely well taken care of by both the day and night staff from the time of admission to discharge for both me and my baby. Every detail of medication and treatment was very well explained by the nurses, they showed me the ropes with breastfeeding and even how to bath a baby and assisted with any questions I had with good knowledge and experience. Every nurse I interacted with showed such great care and kindness. Thank you all!!

Once again I had an amazing stay with RMC I have had 2 of my kids admitted with them and my first was 5 years ago which was a great experience as the staff was friendly and had alot of patience with my son back than. Now 5 years later, a fews day ago my baby of 4 months was was admitted as she was running a high fever the ER sisters shireen and chanice were so nice and calm and got my baby to broke a smile through her pain which meant alot to me. The paed wards sister Roomley and Portia who welcomed us were so sweet and caring everything one needs when you worried about your baby. So a huge thank you to the staff, night shift nurses Lindi, and Ranisha and day shift after wards sister Davids thank you for making my stay so calming and putting my mind at easy with your kind attitude, and as always our super Paediatrician Dr Anisa Vahed as always shes amazing and a smile waiting to reassure you. Thank you

I want to thank the staff at the maternity ward.As a first time mom,I had a very pleasant experience.From day one, I was treated with respect and kindness.The night staff were amazing.. very warm and welcoming.Always ready to assist.I was amazed at their attention to detail.I felt like I was at a 5 star hotel.The bed linen was clean.Bathrooms were spotless.The food provided to patients was tasty and fresh.I generally dislike being cold but I was kept warm as heaters were switched on and clean blankets were provided.After the arrival of my baby, she was taken care of very well.My recovery process was very pleasant.I was well taken care of.I knew nothing about breastfeeding or bathing a newborn baby, I was taught all these things in detail at the hospital.Superb treatment from Dr Dingiswayo and his team.Thank you.

Well, with regards to outside parking, its really not OK!!!Parking is a major issue at this hospital,,, well youll see for yourself once you need to park your car outside.I took these picks in the middle of the night, but look at the ridiculously small space allocated outside for parking, for such a big private hospital!!?Thumbs-up if you agree and follow.Enjoy

For service, its really bad. Ive been to other facilities and have received WAY BETTER treatment than I got from Rondebosch medical centre.For starters.Admissions, please treat your patients with respect. Lack of communication skills.From the moment Walked in for my stay an the from what Ive experienced, I so regret staying at the hospital.One goes should receive care from the nurses but in this case, they are never around when you do need them.I would not recommend anyone going for treatment to this facility.All I can say. Bad bad experience.

I was there 12th July 2021 gave birth but I must say the maternity ward nurse is super great the night staff and the day they really made me and my little one felt at home. They were always visible and really helpful

I dont care what ANY of you complainers are crying about , these people saved my life from covid and I will forever be grateful for the wonderful Esmarie Dreyer physiotherapists , nursing staff and the excellent Dr Perumal ,he is the best of the best ! Very dissapointed in the service we received at the ER. Brought my wife in only to be told that if it gets worse I must bring her back as things worsened I took her back the next day, the lady Dr on duty the evening of 23rd July was of no assistance sent us back home even the nurse that attended to her showed no interest. What ER has no Gynae on call? Both the nurses and Drs at this facility needs a crash course in patient care because they deserve a 0/10 for the trash service that we received and had to pay twice for. Wouldnt recommend this facility at all.

There were issues with the submittal of plans to council for this hospital and it shows. When you cut corners and build shoddily the R Medical Centre is the result. Awful tight parking, awful access, lifts in the wrong places. Lack of proper signage. No through flow. Tiny corridors. I have no issues with the staff or personnel.

Never setting foot again in that ER. Worst ER doctor ive had on two occasions. I almost lost my life because of the doctor and when i had covid, i had difficulty in breathing although my oxygen saturation was good, the ER doctor asked me to go home in the state that i was. Now I understand why the best GPs do not recommend this hospital nor do they work there. Try to get nurses who know how to put a drip. When i finally got admitted, the specialist did approve that i was having some difficulty in breathing. Get better ER doctors!!!!!!

Extremely wonderful and impressive assistance from the ladies in the maternity unit with assisting my wife during her recovering period after birth . However A special 5 stars to Dr. Dingiswayo not only for the whole pregnancy period but rather for walking the process with us to grant access to theater for the birth of our first beautiful son. Also always available on his cellphone for any assistance.

The worst service imaginable :-( How sad that you are left to your own accord to fend for yourself and a new born baby. Never again..staff is unfriendly, Drs had no bedside manners and to think you are paying thousands for a non existing service. If you need no assistance and no support this hospital is the place to be. Outdated and old equipment, torn clothes for a new born, room temperatures that feel like you in a desert.... never again... Medical aids and CMS should be made aware of the type of service they are paying for. This is not even worth the one star i had to choose.

This rating is directed at Dr kalim I have been to her for my antenatal checkups she is just the best ever and her receptionists are just as wonderful.

Had my baby at this hospital a month ago, the nurses are absolute angels! Made my c section recovery a breeze, they were so caring and loving to my baby girl and myself and they assisted me with everything. From the yummy food to the amazing nurses, really made my first pregnancy experience a great one!

I gave birth to my twins through c-section on the 02/09/2020. There’s nothing much I can say than getting the best treatment from Thandeka Mdluli working for an agent, Ggina Sibiya she’s the best also working for an agent,sister R Hermanus 👌, not forgetting sister Pinto one of the craziest 😁,naughty in a very professional way 😆 and entertaining sister who makes u even forget that you are a patient. Some sisters I just forgot their names, all in all good treatment from the staff not forgetting my unit managers whooa they are the best, including my nursery sisters who are very passionate and taking good care of my twins 🤗..

I had a procedure done in February and this was the best experience Ive ever had in a hospital setting. The staff was friendly and helpful and attentive and even cracked a little joke here and there. The food was good and the facility is very clean. I would recommend this place to anyone 👍🏽

Excellent maternity nursing staff. They are really helpful and caring. A special thanks to NICU nurses that took care of my precious baby. I felt content while recovering from my c-section. Nice facility and a good experience overall.

Wish I could give a separate ratingButDr Yusuf Moosa👎 is definitely not a peoples person and does not have a good manner about him.Being bronchiolitis (winter) season I brought my daughter in to the ER with cold / flu symptoms and a tight chest. He asked us what we meant by cold and flu symptoms and tight chest. My daughter told him its difficult for her to breathe, he asked her what she meant by that. He seemed reluctant to examine her. Either the oxygen and heart rate machine, the x Ray machine and his stethescope was not working or he just did not know how to diagnose her. He surely made me feel as if I had brought her in for nothing. If I had not insisted he would have sent her home with Panado and Nurofen. After much deliberation he advised the nurse to administer Aspelone. At a hospital fee of R2000. (If only Aspelone was available without prescription).He did however manage to coerce us into taking a covid test saying what if my daughter has covid and she infects him, he will have to self isolate for 2 weeks. Even though according to World Health Organization infection rates in young children are very low. Anyway covid test came back negative. Private medical costs are excessive and I dont mind paying if I am actually getting a service.Also, Fifi night nurse👎friendly introduction but aggressive attitude when I asked her a question.

Had Our Baby Angel at this hospital on 04/11 was very scary for me because my husband couldnt be with me because of Corona and I was at a hospital I knew nothing about and I ended up having another c sec...but from the time I arrived in the maternity ward I was taken care of by Sis Pinto and Sis Cornelius and all the other nurses that took care of me in the 5 days I was there thamk you fit creating such a caring environment thank u for loving what you do and making us mommies feel safe..to the NICU nurses thank you for taking care of my baby girl and advising me and reassuring me.

Doesn’t even deserve the one star rating. My father had covid in January and was admitted here on the 7th Jan. When we dropped him off at the hospital he could barely breath, security told him to walk to ER he could barely breath let alone walk, he collapsed at the security gate of ER, I don’t understand why a porter or security couldn’t wheel him to ER clearly he was in distress. That was only the beginning of his two week stay which wasn’t pleasant at all.

My father passed away at the hospital and his phone was stolen.We paid so much money for this to happen.It was a business phone and we lost all our contactsStill struggling up till today.How do you steal a phone from a deceased person.Never again....

I was suppose to have mole removed. They decide to admit me and treat it as cyst. Put under sedation and left terrible scar on my back. That hurts until today

The security is very helpful. The facility is clean, the staff is willing to go an extra mile to help. There are so many different types of doctors and offers different services. Its best when you have a medical aid.

I went in on Thursday 8/10/20 and left on Saturday the 10/10/20.The staff in the surgical ward, day and night shift for those days was top notch, I cannot praise these guys more for their absolute amazing service.Ranjit and all the nurses on his team, sister Heynes, sister Milly, sister Akilah (I think thats her name) and the rest of their day and night teams deserves all the praises.Nursing is a very humble profession and these guys pulls it off like nothing.Thank you from Mrs Jacobs ❤❤❤

Worst service on Earth.

From the moment I arrived with my very sick daughter at the emergency unit, every single staff member was friendly, caring and exceptionally professional. In the weeks she spent in this hospital each and every staff member was caring and empathetic. A special mention to her doctor Dr. David who quite literally saved her life. I will be eternally grateful to him and all the nurses in ICU and the surgical ward for taking such good care of her.

When my husband needed to be admitted, there was some mix up in communication. The guy (cant remember his name) was very patient and efficient. Unfortunately the staff in the surgical ward were not on top form. If visiting a patient, make allowances for the limited parking. The hospital is situated on a main arterial road which doesnt help either at peak traffic times. There is wheelchair accessible parking

My newborn daughter was there three years ago. They allowed me to stay with her during the day and also be with her in the neonatal ICU. My mother was seriously ill just over a year ago. The treatment in my opinion saved both my daughter and mother however I was a little perturbed that my daughter had to have her drip relocated several times when they could have just given her oral medication. The nurse who filled in from the neonatal unit was very nervous. I almost felt like I had to show her how to insert a drip. The parking is strange but certainly not a nightmare. There is room for improvement but given the choice this would be my go-to hospital.

This bad rating has got everything to do with the parking. Especially the parking within. Never, ever will I tell anyone to make use of this hospital. The signage direct you to absolutely no where in the parking. You get a blue lift, but it does not tell you where it will actually bring you out. They have all these super departments that you could go to, but you will get lost before getting there. Lost in hospital parking, if ever a movie had to be made. They dont even deserve the star and all this because of parking. Park outside the building rather. Park in the yellow lane. Do illegal parking.

Took my son in to the emergency ward during early hours this morning (Sat the 20th), as a result of stomach cramps and vomiting. From the administrator checking us in to the nursing staff and Dr on duty, what a friendly and pleasant experience!! They made my son and me feel very comfortable with fantastic medical care and treatment!!! Within 1 - 2 hours we were back home again with no cramps nor vomiting on his end.Thank you and well done! 💥❤️ An exceptional experience all around.

I have been admitted to the hospital a number of times of the years. I have been to the Theatre, ICU, Medical Ward and Surgical Ward. The staff both clinical and non-clinical, the kitchen staff, the general workers etc. are so friendly and respectful. They would knock before entering, checked up on me both by night and day staff, and always treated me with respect. It made feel as if I was given that personal touch as they truly showed what true nursing care is about, something that is lost nowadays as people are not passionate anymore.I cannot thank them enough for the excellent service I received.

Terrible service. Doctors with no manners. Nurses are so slow and dont actually pay any attention to you. You cant even ask a question without them getting upset or couldnt be bothered to be polite or friendly. Im actually very disappointed at the lack of patient care and professionalism amongst people we think really are there to help us. Also, I do not think its fair rooming two people who actually need peace and quiet to heal and recover with a person who is loud and abrupt, together. That really put us in a very inconvenient position. Being a private hospital, I expected more and was given less than minimum. I wouldnt want to give this place even one star. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this hospital and I will never come back.

5 star service at RMC ER. Our baby had a high temperature and was vomiting and we took him into the ER and received an excellent service. The ER doctor was patient and thoughtful and eased our anxiety and explained everything very carefully. He was wonderful with our baby and so were the nurses who went of their way to make us and our little one comfortable.

WORST EVER! NEGLIGENT NURSES. MOM DISCHARGED WITH BEDSORES, NOW AS BIG AS MY FIST! 3 months later still struggling with it (...and the private wound nurse bills).Nurses on floor/level 2 laughed behind her back. Childish gestures. Left her alone in room with closed doors, unable to reach the help buzzer.Left her CRYING WITH PAIN.Gave all her medication in one go or sporadically instead of spread out through the day. Male nurses there were more worried about the colour of their contact lenses and which sneakers to wear than tending to my mom.I WILL NEVER RETURN TO RONDEBOSCH MEDICAL CENTRE. IT AND ITS NURSING STAFF ARE A DISGRACE AND I COULD NEVER AGAIN LEAVE ANYONE THERE IN GOOD FAITH.The doctors are fine but care for ill patients are atrocious.

I had an emergency and was assisted by a team of medical professionals that were kind and caring. The overall experience was great. There are two issues that needs attention 1. For an MRI you will be sent to another hospital with an ambulance, 2. When ordering food you either dont get what you ordered or youll have to check up if its still coming.

I was admitted twice to RMC and I have been a few times in the emergency rooms and from when I enter the hospital the service is great. The nurses take good care of you, the ladies from the kitchen is super friendly. Everything just make a sick person feel a whole lot better. Dont ever compromise on the service you currently giving unless it becomes better. Dr Shaikjee and his team is just as awesome.

I have only visited their outpatient wing here, and have never had to be admitted or visit their emergency unit.Their doctors are naturally very good.As for the facilities themselves: the parking is atrocious. There is very little clearly marked parking for patients/visitors, one drives for a long time before finally find a level where patients are allowed to park, and then the parking spaces are tiny in a very poorly designed parking lot.The interior of the building is as difficult to navigate. There is a lot of confounding directions stuck on the walls, without an accurate map nearby. Whenever I go to a new doctor there for the first time, I arrive half an hour early to make up for the time spent parking and then looking for the consulting rooms.While the service at the hospital has a good reputation, the infrastructure itself needs work.

I wish I could give this hospital more stars because their staff is amazing but never have I ever heard a rule in a hospital where the husband/father could not stay for the day with his wife and child. Its suppose to be just as important for the father to bond with his child. It saddened me that I have to leave my wife and son after visiting hours the whole time. Its a waste of my paternity leave as well.

Specialised oncology unit based at this hospital. 24 hr emergency unit. MRI machine has been installed recently. Doctors are well qualified. Nursing staff are well experienced. Porters are very helpful as well as the parking attendants.Reply from the owner: New MRI machine is now installed.

This is a terrible hospital. The nurses are terribly rude and have no patience. There rules are pathetic. You are not allowed to see patients after theatre or before. You are not able to help a patient settle in after being admitted. We were basically pushed out of the medical ward. Waited from 11 for the 3pm visiting hours, just to see patient just to be told to leave numerous times. These nurses have not manners, rough and out right rude.

Can who ever answers the phone speak like they are at work and not being bothered by people while shes on vacation. Thanks

Not all but most of the nurses is unfriendly and as previously said if you ask questions it is as if they dont want to help and answer. My sister was admitted there. After every single test done and a CT scan the doctor on duty says she dont know what is wrong with my sister. They cant find anything wrong. My sister continiously vomit, has a fewer is and is in extreme pain. There is no sympathy from the staff. Yesterday the doctor said the last resort is a gastroscopy what they would have done last night. When I phoned this morning a very irritaded nurse said she is sleeping and no they have not done the operation. They are waiting for the doctor.. and she dont have the answers she just came on duty. I phoned 10 past 8. I would for sure never recomment this hospital

2 stars only because the doctor who assisted me was friendly and thorough. The staff in the ER were strange, not focused and seemed rather incompetent. I had to help myself to the bin to vomit as the nurse never provided me with a vomit basket even though I expressed my nausea multiple times. The nurse also seemed to find the situation funny and had this annoying smurk on her face. The best part of the treatment was getting out of there and knowing that I will not return.

I cant comment on the quality of the services offered, but parking is a nightmare and navigating the various levels of the three buildings is not fun. If youve never been here before, arrive early.

Ive been to there emergency room when I was 3 months pregnant, I took my neighbor there for exrays 3 days ago and there service is excellent, professional, on point, clean environment and yet everyone is so friendly.

This place is a circus. I’ll equipped staff, unfriendly and imcompassionate. I think the state hospitals are better than this. Moved my mom to Vincent Palotti after being here for 5 days with no diagnosis.

My child was born there, exactly 7 months ago. He was born by emergency caesarean section - which is not at all the natural water-birth-at-home-without-painkillers-overlooking-the-ocean-as-the-sun-rises experience I wanted - but the maternity team at RMC took such excellent care of us during those first few days that I remember the experience with great warmth, fondness and gratitude. Thank you to everyone who helped bring our beloved Sabr into the outside world with such care, grace and love.

My sister was admitted to Rondebosch for a procedure. The desk staff and some of the nurses; Shireen , Joy , Nawaal and Elena were attentive and friendly, however some nurses and the doctor in ER were quite rude when i posed a question , they would interrupt and cut you off mid question or have an attitude when you ask a simple one.

Disgusted with service received on 24/08/2019,was referred by my GP to them for a Emergency situation according to my GP only to be treated like a normal situation then ended back to my GP for a prescription meanwhile my medical aid was billed for services required not received. Will not recommend this intuition and will bring it up with my medical aid.

A worrying incident occurred when my dad was discharged from hospital on Monday night with the incorrect medication prescribed to him. As a cardiac patient its pretty disturbing how the cardiologist, Dr Zita Kerbelker prescribed another patients medication to my dad as take home medication. When I called  to clarify certain drugs, to my knowledge unnecessary drugs, she gave me pretty cocky answers as though her knowledge was superior (of this was the case she wouldnt be in light of incompetent practice and negligence) I asked why certain drugs were prescribed to him as he is a quadruple bypass patient she said when she checked his blood pressure it wasnt required. Without those meds he is in jeopardy of having a stroke. No form of communication from Dr to the patient when she was at his bed side about omitting his current drug regimen. She claimed she had wrote his prescription from his blue board which clearly wasnt my dads. My dad was discharged with not only his in hospital medication but along with another patients medication. 2 days later from our telephonic conversation, no apology was conveyed. Excellent service from all other staff members since we stepped into ER to ccu.

They dont even deserve a star the doctors is the worse at that place, treat our parents like hell...that Dr Kerbelk rocks up when it suits her with an attitude and incorrect D. Geez the way they speak to you as if they are the CEO of a company and you are an employee being reprimanded and not a patient! No explanations, no visit leave you in your bed with dirty hospital clothes. Prison would be better than that place. Please go learn at GMC Gateville what a Doctor is that is Doctors - Educated, Concerned, Empathy, Experienced and the best I have seen! Never let any family member of yours go to Rondebosch Medical Center please you will be sorry. My mom was ill treated and the doctor on call was young, ignorant and lack patient care. She clearly only became a doctor for a salary - shame on you but remember how you treat others will come back to you!

Great docters and nursing staff...but bring earplugs if you have to stay in the Pedeatric devision. It is impossible to sleep. The windows are not sound proof and it feels as if you are sleeping on the sidewalk. 2h00 the drag racing motorcycles starts. Try to put a sick child to bed when a taxi hoots outside youre window or a motorcycle wakes them up 3h00 on the morning.......You dont expect this from a private hospital...we are exhausted after a 5 day restless stay...

I had surgery here and i was never ever put under before .Was the worst experience ever.I woke up and my doctor never came to let me know how it all went. Nurses in the ward did not know if could leave or what my post op notes were. The food was horrible and cold and no one seem to care about the patient at all. I would not go there and no one else should either..

No free wifi to patients and guests. If you havent your own data, you doomed!

Our first time and worst experience. Dr Kalim decide to forget about my wife (checkup) in the ward she is waiting from this afternoon to see the dr. The dr has nonsolant attitude like you not important. I will take it further with management and hopefully they will do something. How about the newspapers. We pay alot money for quality, professional service. We not getting it.

Friendly staff, we got in and were taken care of by Fifie.

They are building at the center, we could not find the consulting room we needed to get to. We asked security, they sent us up a floor in the lifts, there someone sent us back down again and eventually a third person through the parking lot to the wrong place again, we gave up and just went to Vincent Palotti.

Hospital building does not appear to be maintained well. Doctors are lovely, but supporting staff not very friendly.

I am not happy with the service of Rondebosch hospital, that has handed me over to MBD for an amount of R14565.50 whereas I confirmed with our medical aid and this amount was paid in 3 parts as requested on 9 and 16 June. Unprofessional and incompetent staff causing inconvenience to our busy lives. ...............................................................................................................................................................................................................I am not able to add another comment after the hospital has given me feedback so I could only edit review to give my feedback. It turns out it is the Laboratory services that handed me over not the hospital. It is now being sorted out with laboratory services and medical aid for updates.
