Went to fetch my second computer and once again Henry was his usual efficent, friendly and professional way he treats his customers. Once again gave me time to explain a few things to me and what patience he has with his clients. Awful awful products!!I bought 2 desktops and a laptop.Not one month goes by without one of them having a problem.It is eight months later:1 of the brand new mouses no longer worksI have countless issues.The laptop is worse than the 7 year old laptop it was supposed to have replaced!I am not even going to bother using the warranty because they have been back to the warehouse before and not one of the devices have come back better so whats the point?Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere.**UPDATEA number of the issues were caused by your technicians not doing their jobs correctly.You sent technicians out more than 20kms from your warehouse for a fault that wasnt your own?? I dont think so. You sent them out because your customer service sucked and you knew that your technicians messed up.Also, you upgraded my laptop because your technicians did such an awful job on the first one. This, without a peep from me! In other words, full acknowledgement.So, your investigation results: all problems, ..., were caused by software... is actually quite inaccurate and laughable.For the record...They have not made any effort to replace faulty mouse.I have had many more issues that I have not bothered reporting. For example, I constantly have to plug and unplug the mouse and keyboard as the USB ports are not 100%.

My laptop started giving problems out of warranty, but after sorting it out with customer service they assured me that the problems I was experiencing were not normal and they fully rectified any hardware issues I had. Very impressed with the proactivity of this company in helping me with my issue - beyond my expectation in all honesty.

Seriously one of the WORST companies I have ever dealt with. They make an excellent example of overpromising and under delivering [with attitude to boot]. The amount of disinformation and conflicting information we are receiving on an order we placed is troublesome and tiresome. I have only PLACED my order - they havent got my money yet, and somehow they think they will be entitled to the contents of my wallet. I would never, ever in a million years recommend anyone doing business with Universe Direct - not until they clean up their sales department and stop taking their customers as fools.

I would like to do a shout out for Henry, one of the Technicians at Universe Direct. On two occasions now he has been incredibly helpful beyond expectations making me so glad we bought a bunch of refurbs from the company. When Microsoft update issue tripped us up - he really got us sorted with minimal pain.

I bought this refurb almost a month ago and then it died on me, which can happen. I just came back with the same type of machine, and they managed to keep my hard drive intact so I can just continue where I took off. The guy even offered to get my bunny stickers off so I would put it on this machine. What a wonderful bunch of people.

I just want to thank the young lady at your reception for her patience with me throughout Friday. I must have phoned about 20 times to either speak to Vuyo, Tammy or Wendy regarding my repair without success. The last two times I called was almost closing, I lost my cool and was quite rude to the young lady, but she remained professional and friendly and managed to find somebody else to help me, I am not sure of the gentlemans name. It is so nice to work with professional people. Thank you.

Helpful, affordable, efficient. Bought a refurbished laptop there 6 months ago and not a single issue at a very reasonable price. Returned today to have my software reinstalled after my device picked up a virus (thanks to my own negligence!) and they decided not to charge us for the service!

Make sure you give yourself several hours for your order to be processed. I was told 1 hour, came back after nearly 2 hours, and eventually picked up my order after waiting a total of over 4.5 hours.

I took a Dell workstation to Universe Direct (UD) for a R1,000 memory upgrade and clean. The computer was functioning normally the morning it was delivered to UD. 4 days later Universe Direct presented me with a R12,500 invoice to repair damaged motherboard pins. UD refused to accept responsibility for the damage, leaving me to conclude that at best Universe Direct is incompetent, but more likely fraudulent. Indeed, Universe Direct advertises to be registered with the Dell PartnerDirect program (this was the only reason i used UD) and as it turns out they are not registered with Dell, and are not part of any Dell Partner program.

Excellent problem solving from Tobie, I recommend him as the person to contact.
