Went for lunch and was given an absolutely delicious pasta as well as a great chocolate milkshake. Very nice outdoor seating area.

Friendly staff and the patrons are so friendly and relaxed. Being surrounded by plants and flowers while having lunch was quite blissful. My son walked the dog which gave me some time to catch up with reading my book.

The restaurant is nestled at the back of the nursery so you get to walk past beautiful flowers and plants to get there. I went around midday on a rainy Monday and they seemed to be quite busy - there were a few big groups as well as tables with one or two people. Though friendly, I found the service a little bit slow. I ordered a rooibos latte and decided to take my pasta lunch with me as it took more than 45 minutes for them to serve it to me. Its a beautiful, cosy setup and I will definitely go back (and hope for better service).

So lovely being surrounded by the beautiful Stark Ayres flora and the lovely goodies to buy at their store. I simply LOVE the animal print umbrellas 😍

This place literally has the worst food in the whole of Cape Town.We had sandwich and chips. They gave us potato crisps from lays 🤣And the cheese cake was even worse than the frozen ones from pick and pay.To add to this they are always understaffed. So you will be served pretty slow.

Very nice place sorrounded by plants. We ordered coffee, tea and breakfast and everything was pretty good. The waiter was nice and gentle, the portions were big and the price was ok. We had nice time sitting outside in the sun. Easy parking outside and nice shop related to the restaurant.

Visited here after running some errands. Had the eggs florentine and a cappuccino.Eggs were poached perfectly, hollandaise was delicious as well as the coffee. Setting is great but service isnt great. All in all, quite happy to return here as I have never had any issues here.

The environment is delightful because of the garden centre in which the restaurant sits - really beautiful large garden centre with very healthy and prolific plants, bushes and flowers; a haven. Food was good and service a little slow but very friendly.

The service was not the best (even the waiter acknowledged that) - Ill spare you the details.The breakfast was not the best in terms of quality and quantity.

This is the place to go if you looking to get a quiet corner to read or work while having a good cup of coffee. The chocolate cake was not worth its price though as it tasted a bit stale or aged (like its been standing for days)

Good breakfast-- they make a good eggs benedict, and good service. We were lucky to get a table, but as we were finishing up our meal (around 11.30am) I noticed that most tables around us were reserved. So would probably be best to reserve a table to avoid disappointment.

The meal and service were excellent. The booking and telephonic service were atrocious. I was told on arrival that they were booked out so didnt answer the phone. I went anyway so their system of not answering didnt work as planned.

My wife and I had lunch at Fraiche Ayres after gym yesterday at about 2:30. My wife ordered the prawn salad and I had the grilled hake & veg. We had to attend my sons school function at about 6ish when my wife started feeling really nauseous. By 7pm she was vomiting with hectic stomach cramps. When we got home she was shivering and vomiting and went straight to bed. It was definitely food poisoning and typical symptoms according to our doctor. When I contacted the restaurant this morning to tell them the person was adamant it was not them and they personally took the prawns out and defrosted them and blatantly insinuated that I was talking crap and even accused the gym we went to that she picked up germs and bacteria there!!! How ridiculous! It’s not like I asked for a refund or to be compensated in any way, just to merely tell them what happened. The person was so rude and obnoxious and refused to take any blame for the food poisoning. Quite shocked at their professionalism, attitude and behaviour.

Beautiful surroundings. The aroma of all the different colored flowers makes it perfect for Sunday breakfast or lunch. Fresh Orange juice, good looking and tasty breakfast. A little on the pricey side but the portions make up for it. Good service.

Nothing beats Sunday afternoon coffee and apple crumble surrounded by beautiful plants and flowers. Great for the soul. They have the BEST apple crumble in town.

Nice setting and it used to be a regular choice for me, but the service is just not what it used to be. I got a good seat but the kitchen is clearly unprepared when you order something that they then dont have - then order something else which they said they have and then they also dont have. I then decided to rather go somewhere better. There were lots of reserved tables so it must be great for other people, but I think I might skip it from now on. For the prices we pay, I would expect more. I just dont want to have to take chances when going to a restaurant. Sorry guys.

The food is amazing. Portion sizes are large. Their salad came with feta and beetroot. Highly recommend their burger, it comes with chips and a decent size side salad.

Its set within Starke Ayres nursery. Outside seating adhering to health protocol for Covid-19. It was my first outing to have a coffee and meet a friend in over 3 months!

Very expensive restaurant. Average food. The reason I go there is that it is one of few eating places in the area.and the setting of a nursery is good. Strange attitude to saving water for a restaurant in drought stricken Cape Town. The nursery sell water guzzling hydrangeas and the restaurant ran their recycling fountain throughout despite the fact they also cause evaporation of water. Managers defensive if asked why the new toilets use a lot of water with the fancy gadgets.So nice setting. Not impressed with restaurant in general

One of my favourite spots - A tranquil oasis surrounded by lush plants & beautiful trees with the peaceful tinkling of the water fountain while enjoying a chilled glass of wine & savouring every morsel of the scrumptious food. What can be more delightful! The staff are great - Such attentive service & kind staff are very hard to find. Im especially grateful for the special attention & care they gave my Mom with advanced dementia all the years. Nothing was too much bother - an extra cushion, cleaning up her frequent spills & even going as far to especially make her favourite meal when it wasnt on the menu of the day. This restaurant is very popular & often particularly busy, making service a tad slower on occasion but who cares! Relax & enjoy the ambience as the food is well worth any little wait!

Not cool.Service was appalling. The eggs were not done as ordered. The toast arrived after prompting, 5 min after the breakfast was served.No apology from the waiter except that they were short staffed.Possibly will only go back in extreme winter weather weather, when hell freezes over.

Very nice little restaurant with excellent food. The children were welcome, but there was no jungle gym or anything like that, and they do not have high chairs. Probably not the best bet for small children. But really lovely if you havent got them!

Service can be a little hit and miss but Ive been here so many times for breakfast I feel like I have to give it 5 stars. Afterwards you can buy plants which you will inevitably end up killing over the next few months. Such is life.

I am surprised this restaurant managed to stay above 4 stars with the slow service and lack of connection the waiters have.1 and half hours of waiting for a simple burger and lunch of the day? ? For the prices its a waste of money.when the food eventually came my potatoe wedges were ice cold and then you wonder why they took that long .The only reason i accepted a cheesecake on the house was because Jean is sincere manager.I stay 200m away from the place and all the 4 times Ive been there I was not entirely happy with their slow service.

Excellent food, good value for money, secure parking, and a relaxing atmosphere in this hidden gem, which also has a shaded, pet-friendly outside seating area.

We have breakfast here as often as possible - theres nowhere quite as relaxing for an outdoor meal. Friendly staff, nice sorroundings but you need to book or get there super early as a lot of the tables are reserved. Their lunch menu is enough to make your mouth water even after just having had breakfast!

Food is great but service is slooooooow! And its not loadshedding that slows down the service regardless of the excuse ... Same thing with respect slow service on my previous visits... But... I will definitely go back because the food is yummy and its really quaint. Also, Richard from Stark Ayres, the garden place where this restaurant is, is amazing and really knows how to motivate the hopeful budding gardener!

Really slow to completely non existent service.The waiters seemed to be spinning even though the restaurant was three quarters empty. Also really WEIRD that almost every table was EMPTY and had reserved sign on it , making it impossible to not sit in uncomfortably close proximity to strangers at the tiniest excuses for tables I have ever seen.

Very sweet staff but food below par but it is very popular. My toasted sandwich with gherkins had the gherkins toasted in sandwich so they were warm and soggy, not cool, crisp and piquant.They did not know how to make a frappe or iced coffee.The shaded seating area is done with polycarb and insufficient latte and more importantly insufficient apertures for hot air to escape. On hot days it hence becomes a sauna below.The setting of being in the Starke Ayres nursery is wonderful and if you want a simple meal with a friend and your doggie then definitely try it.
