I received exceptional support from the builders.co.za team regarding my order that had a failed delivery attempt.Builders N1 city delivered the items at no additional cost and were very polite and friendly in arranging a time to be delivered.I received support from the builders.co.za team the next morning after I logged the support request via the website the prior evening. The gentleman was polite and liaised with the N1 City branch to address the order delivery.I have ordered from the N1 city branch before and have always had a quick turn around time of my orders.

Great shopping experience. Smaller than other Builders Warehouses but great variety of goods. Very organised and the garden section is well stocked

Parking is plentiful and for an Express store this builders is large and very well stocked with most items that you would expect to find from hardware supplies and at reasonable rates.There are some very knowledgeable staff members who can assist with what youre looking for or direct you to where you most probably will find an item they may not have.The one less than perfect star is that at busy times the team seems too stretched and there isnt enough assistance offered. Its not just that alone, but a general inconsistent approach to customer service.On some days above average service and others a sense of apathy from staff.That said staff are usually friendly and helpful, but understandably in a large store consistent service needs to be managed a bit better.

Usually I am able to get what I need. But this time they did not have the items I was looking for. But they were helpful in trying to find a solution.

As the name states, it is an express outlet. Only the most popular and the most used hardware requirements are catered for. The nursery section is quite well stocked. The seeds selection as well as the plant food is rather affordable. The paint section is very helpful and knowledgeable.

Has everything you would expect from a Builders Express. Not as much as a warehouse but still should have you covered for DIY

More staff in the nursery would be great. Especially ones who know what the plants are as the label for example will say succulent...which kind? Or just herbs...which one?Some staff are eager to profile and follow customers but not so eager when that customer has a question that requires them to actually attend to them. Cashiers are lovely.Went in to check something and ended up buying a whole lot plants. There was one gentleman in particular who not only helped me with pricing as some products are not labelled but got us a trolley from outside. Thank you. More staff like this please 😁🙏🏾 Knows the products, prices and goes the extra mile. With a smile nogal.

As a man always doing it yourself, im always do my shopping here and for convenience Gelmars is right next to this Builders Warehouse so its like a one stop DIY destination no matter your project.

Friendly staff, conveniently located. Stocks majority of items that the bigger builders stores stock. Always better to check online first if they have the item you need in stock. Pricing might differ between normal and express stores

There is never anyonr around to assist you....... Especially in the plant department. And the guys that eventually comes to assist you then doesnt know anything about the plants 🤷🏻‍♀️ anywho a for effort I guess

The service levels at this store is phenomenal with every visit. Anthea at the information desk took her time yesterday meticulously answering every question I had and even managed to source my spray gun from a neighbouring store after the system showed no stock anywhere. This is service excellence and one of the many reason I mainly show here.

I have never seen this happen to a queue yet there was a long line of customers waiting for the cashiers there was only 2 on duty( that I dont mind because I understand staffing with a budget) but then while theres still a long line the one cashier decides its time for lunch (looks the customers in the eye)and just leaves her colleague in the trenches. I worked in retail too and you either need flexible staff that can work the tills and help in the Isles or schedule better.

I was absolutely gobsmacked yesterday when I was directed to the information counter and the one lady had her mask under her chin whilst eating crisps. She did not put her mask up and continued to eat her chips whilst waiting for me to tell her what I needed. And when I told her to put her mask up she told me she was eating. How are these staff not trained when we back to level 3 and in a 3rd wave. ? Shocking to say the least. I guess going back to level 5 and having to shut up shop again doesnt matter to some. I did manage to speak to the store manager. However that this even occurred right at the front of the store displays a lack of training and respect. I will not be back.

Trying to pay for some stuff,nobody in the mood to work or be of assistance. Standing at the Check out waiting for help on shelving. Instead the staff walks around minding their own business.4 staff members helping one customer while I am standing all lost in translation......is there another word for poor service???

Large store, you expect to find what you looking for, but as an express, sometimes full range missing and can be frustrating. Service is poor, organisation and pricing of items below par. Still find myself going there quite often.

Wonderful range had everything I wanted reasonable prices. Whole experience was tainted but the debacle on the tills during lunch time on a Friday one cashier She then hit a problem with a difficult customer and the check out process ground to a halt. Management need a swift kick in the right place This is not a staff problem they are capable and empathetic but the system is badly organized.

Enjoy visiting any Builders shop. This is a smaller version to the Warehouse but very nice.

JayJay in the paint department is absolutely amazing. His knowledge and service is excellent.

No assistance of any kind in the shop. Be prepared to locate what you need, find a trolley, heave it onto the trolley and get it to the cashier without any assistance. Not an enjoyable experience.

Such a wide variety of hardware and other items you need when building or renovating. Just such a pity about the unbelievably bad service and unhelpful or absent staff. Staff members from all over the store group together and talk to each other about their weekend plans instead of helping customers. When you look for help you always have to go find someone only to find them with other builders staff instead of helping customers. Even if you are close to one of these gatherings, no one will offer to help. If Builders can fix this lack of customer obsession it will be a great store.

With normally going to the big one this one is ok, an express as per the name so stock is limited. Parking is great though.

They do not have a simple 40mm 90deg waste bend then I am told by the shop manager they are are a Builders Express and the can order this simple bend from another branch ..wow...they have been out of stock for a week why not order ..this I find hard to understand ...

I would not waste my time here again. They prove it over and over that there is no proper communication in the store between the staff. Managers are getting paid for work not properly performed. It takes 30 minutes to fill a 5kg gas can when you are the only person waiting to he assisted. Completely under staffed and just not a pleasant experience in store. Rather go to Brights. Everyone is nonchalant and they basically ignore you.

There is hardly any sales staff available to help. Their attitude is poor. And what you read here can be transferred to all the branches. Truly poor.

Always having a great Shopping experience. should get more till points and Staff on the floor should be more visible. My rating is a 5 as they always have what I am looking for. I was just disappointed twice but got most of my other material that I needed.

Friendly staff and good prices

Bought filler foam, but couldnt find the application straw. Husband said Im sure they keep it at the till because of theft. Not the case, as the cashier had to walk to the Paint section to find that they kept a box of them under the counter. A simple sign at the filler foam aisle could have prevented extra walking and annoyances.

Its an express store so bear that in mind when going. Very helpful and friendly staff.

What a pity this shop is so disorganized. So many items are not marked with prices and you have to find an elusive staff member to find a price. Just not pleasant.

Varying levels of service received from this builders. Not the best I have been to but also not the worst. They have a big variety of things and I usually am able to get what I need. Also can be noted, that depending on what you are shopping for, they are quite expensive (compared to a nearby competitor)

The store is conveniently located and I visit often to purchase supplies. What bothers me, however, is the extremely poor attention given to the plants in the nursery: seedlings and larger plants gasping for water, so dry that they can be shaken out of their containers. This is the norm that I have noticed over months, not a once-off occurrence.

Not my favorite branch. Till lady was rude. Was given items and told a price. Then different story af the till.

Ummmmmm I think management need to look having more cashiers available to serve customers. Im probably every second day in the shop and at times 1 or 2 tills open.

Advisable to check on their website if the item you want is in stock in this warehouse. Because multiple times I went there just to not find what I was looking for since its a smaller one compared to the others.

If you need to fix something quickly, they are just around the corner, lots of parking and friendly staff.

Waited 20 minutes for service and was helped by a person with zn attitude. His response to me asking about help with pool treatment was that he know his work and I need to come back with the pool water to be tested. Which would not be problem if he maybe took the time to be more polite and explain as he would to someone that knows nothing about pools.

Service poor, no one on the floor to assist customers. Walked out 3 times on different occasions due to the fact that no one is there to assist. Went to another store and was assisted promptly.

It does not have all the DIY like the bigger stores, but it is convenient great. One negative with builders is if you buy at a store, you have to return it to same store ..not so convenient

It is an express shop so doesnt have everything that they advertise on their website. Call and check first to see if theyve got what youre looking for, unless you are okay with driving to another branch 😄

This is awesome to go shopping for indoor or outdoor goods. You can buy anything from nails, plumbing, electrical, pool accessories and even plants to lighting up your house inside or outside. Its actually a one stop store for mostly anything from outdoor to indoor things that anyone would be interested in. Awesome service.

Today was a very painless experience as to other days. Only difference today from other days. I knew what I wanted and where it was. Grabbed, paid and out of there in less than 10min

PPE in place. Very neat and well organized shop. Staff very helpful and friendly. Adequate and safe parking.

Very poorly managed store in contrast to the Builders at Northgate. Ive visited the store on 3 occasions in the past week and experienced the same on each occasion.No assistance in the aisles in general. Very few staff on the floor. The only person who went out of his way to assist was the person at the paint mixing counter. Overall the other staff not helpful at all. More interested in clearing old stock off the floor with customers having to give way to staff iso the other way around. Store needs a jack up. No prices on items very frequent, especially in the timber section. A 1-star rating is flattering.

Got what I wanted without trouble. Checkout is a disaster.

Nice for house diy

There was only one teller for long cue. Some items were kept outside and the teller had to close and go outside with us to find what we needed. Not helpful or expedient and totally impractical.

Waited For 45 minutes to get assistance for a braai.No staff could help me after asking 4 different people.
