Something for everyone, food was expensive for small portions. Service was good. Nice wine list, as well as a good offering on popular alcohol.

Its such a secluded area in the middle of the city which is kinda hilarious if you think about it, beautiful big indigenous trees, a river that flows through the park and its much cooler cos the mountains and the sea are the things you mostly see. So ideal for photographers like me who love to shoot natural beauty and an ideal area for a lovers picnic.

We ordered curried chicken served with chips and a salad. The chips were generous with nice dips. Chicken was ok. The highlight of the meal was the cheesecake - the best I have ever tasted!Great ambience, friendly staff and breathtakingly beautiful views.

What an experience! Had the best evening for my birthday. Gosh the sunset was perfect. The vegan burger was amazing! And the cocktails.. To die for! Love love love the vibe!

The food is yummy but the service sucked.Waiters overwhelmed themselves with lots of tables to serve which led to us receiving poor service because our waiter was not focused.We had to beg for a heater as it was cold in our section and other sections had heaters but no one was there.

What a stunning venue...its located a beautiful setting on the side of a mountain... Has a very laid back informal feel to it... The service was excellent from the drive in with attendants assisting with parking to the waiters... It is a fairly large outdoor venue which can get busy over weekends but caters for large crowds... The food was excellent as can be seen from the pics and not too pricey...A must go venue for summer... Winter can be abut chilly but have not been there in winter... The bathrooms are a bit of a disappointment and hope that can be revamped as they are a bit old and dreary...the road going out is a bit rough and would suite suvs... Otherwise great vibe...

Very lovely spot, especially for sunset. The staff are really friendly and the view is amazing. It is rather pricey though, so dont go there on a budget. Nonetheless, a mustgsee of you do visit Cape Town

Located on a mountain pass between Clifton Beach and the City Centre, it has an incredible aerial view and an exclusive, magical feel, as if youve finally found the wardrobe that leads to Narnia. The decor is beachy, modern and fresh. The service is warm, casual and excellent. The food is five-star level and the drinks menu is a library for all tastes. Dont be scared about the parking: theres a lot more than there first appears to be. But do check the weather report in advance -- The Lawns is best enjoyed sunny and windless.

The way its spread out is something different, didnt get to try out the main meals though. View of ocean is nice. Deck party is good if you have smaller group. Nachos looked good, the margarita pizza could have been better. But the worst is the parking, its honestly a danger. Tight spaces, not paved, you dont know if there is still parking ahead. Road just drops off at some point. Could barely reverse out and fit through at the end because of the cars.

Great atmosphere and vibe. Beautiful views. Great food. Lovely arranged seating areas with some tables to sit at or areas with loungers and sofas to sit at, so can be super comfy if you opt for a lounger area.

Our family loved this place. Louis and Chrispan and all the staff made our experience memorable and we will definitely be back. The food was nice and the view on Lawn 1 was beautiful!!! The couch areas are very relaxing. Thanks guys and keep up the great service.

The Roundhouse used to be a well-loved space by my family and I, but after our experience with them yesterday, we definitely wont be returning in the future. The lawns were completely overpacked (we could barely hear each other speak because the neighbouring tables were so close to us), the service was substandard (we had to ask multiple times for basic things like cutlery and serviettes) and the food was actually really pathetic. Our cocktails were way too sweet (purely syrup and mint leaves), the vegetarian nachos for R245 were totally not worth it and the pizzas were so cheesy, undercooked and oily.The lawns used to be such a beautiful space to freely mingle and have an amazing sunset lunch but yesterday we couldnt wait to leave, and when we did, it was with a very bitter taste in our mouths. We DEFINITELY wont be back.

I towed a car out that when down the embankment staff was very helpful and the owner was happy to be getting the vehicle off the mountain quickly even payment was made sameday

Every experience was constantly better. You can go for a nice walk at the lawns. Without breaking a sweat. Or if you like to break some sweat. Go at it with more power and pace. Chill at the bar with a refreshing cocktail.

The location and views are great, sloped and looking over camps bay, and the staff are bubbly and friendly too, however the experience was not all that unfortunately.Tried the kimchi chicken burger, and it had nay a sliver of spice, or fermented kimchi goodness, really disappointed with it, did not justify its crazy price at all. The cocktail menu though plentiful resulted in watered down versions that were delivered late, with lackluster presentation and ultimately sigh-inducing.

Weather was very hot on this and the bar had run out of alcoholic beverages that we required, so that was very dissapointing for us, food though was very tasty, service was also a bit slow

Beautiful vibe for those that like to have a bright and cheery ambiance when they dine. This restaurant has a good view of the beaches, especially at sunset. I would high suggest reserving a table before showing up as it does get full, and one ought to be careful if you may not want to be in a crowded place now with COVID-19.The staff is moderately friendly, and the food is quite okay too. Definitely a lovely spot to hang out at when you want to have a fun time with your loved ones.Establishment is also dog friendly.

Hmmmmm. Feeling rather ambivalent about this establishment. We arrived at 11:15 to be told breakfast was no longer served and we could not order lunch before 12. Our waitress was rather unfriendly and unwelcoming. The bathrooms are unhygienic and rather uncomfortably located. I guess some experiences are made better by the awesome company,location/scenery and delicious food. Id rate this place 5/10

Relaxed and peaceful environment with a great vibe. The Staff are amazing. Food was good. Kids jumping castle should have been in the shade, their feet were burning. But other than that it was a good experience and we will definitely go back. Especially if we feel like eating in a place that is unique to Cape Town and captures its beauty. The food was delicious and they have a awesome selection on the menu of good food and cocktails. Wish they had a splash pool.

The perfect sunset view. The drinks are a bit more on the pricey side of course and I didnt find the food anything special. But the service is always really good and I like the vibe. So definitely a good place to go for a sundowner when in Cape Town.

Beautiful restaurant and good service but my burger was really subpar. Food arrived ice cold and I requested for it to be heated. It then can back dry and tasteless with the same chips reheated and soft and sloppy. If one pays R165 for a burger, it needs to be good.

I’d advice y’all to book for reservations, or you’ll be disappointed as the place gets packed(Summer). We went on a sunday might be different for other days. Very beautiful, great for chilling or hosting celebrations. Beatiful view and service. There was a bit of confusion because of the two entrances to eating spaces, but it got sorted and we got to enjoy the place.

This place is very very busy where by I know they make lots of money, but they dont care how you drive in or out as the exit road has nails in the bush. I have had nails in my tyres more than 5 times due to the bad road and the last nail in my Tyre from the lawn was last week. They should fix the area and the drive through.

Was nice being outdoors but service was slow. Really slow. Had to draw their attention to that. Weekday lunch, two in out party needed to get to work. And it was not crowded.

Wonderful venue! Great umbrellas. Friendly service! Squid entreé delicious. Chef forgot to roast my vegi side but otherwise everybody was extremely satisfied with the dishes! Well be back!

Everything was just perfect tonight! Sam was the best waiter ever! He went the extra mile. The place was packed but the drinks and food arrived with no long waiting period. He brought blankets on request. The wine was great. And yes, if you want a nice view thats the place to go to.

One of the best views for a restaurant ever... it’s a relaxing outdoor vibe with great service and excellent food

Rather dissappointing “picnic” experience. All the regular tables were as they were and 2 pillows were just placed inbetween as our picnic (see image). Not really what is sold on the website and imagine how akward. So it ended up being us seated at a table eating from a basket. Also, the foods aren’t really presented as a picnic. Most of the foods you need a plate, knife and fork to eat. I won’t recommend the picnic, but it is a nice venue. I might try go again and eat off the regular menu.

Stunning view, ample shade, usually a cool breeze even on a steaming hot day and no complaints about the food and also excellent open outside bar facility, amongst ancient pine & oak trees, the cable car and Lions head. Also excellent for families with children due to lawn and play area, you can relax with a glass of wine, while watching your children play.

Setting is superb, and waiters offer good service. The pizza topping was nice, but the banting base was excellent. Glass of wine ordered was chilled to the perfect temperature. Menu offers wide variety and all food that was being served had decent portions and was very freshly made.

Seemed quite busy. Was expecting a super slow service so I started reading the other reviews. The vibe and the scenery are always amazing. The crowd great. After reading a few reviews was expecting a slow service and maybe even questionable food (read reviews about fish and chips drenched in oil and chicken salad without chicken). The drinks came super fast, the food faster than expected and the food looks great.Its nice to know someone is reading the reviews and taking measures to ensure the patrons are happy.Well done.

Fantastic place with a breathtaking view at the foot of Table Mountain. A great place to get out of the city (even though youre still pretty much in Cape Town) on the weekend.The Lawns provides a good selection of drinks and food items.Their website is useless though - in terms of menu viewing.

I suppose it should be known that this is not a peaceful place. Its a vibe. If you want a quiet drink with a good view this is not the place. This is pumping joint with upbeat music, lots of people, cocktails, food, and conversation. Its good for kids and large groups. If you are wanting to socially distance yourself I might recommend going elsewhere.

What an excellent venue to consider for any event small to medium size. Beautiful views and sunsets. It is absolutely incredible!!

The Lawns is a beautifully set, relaxing and overall unforgettable dining experience. The food is quite pricey, but with the breathtaking views, friendly and proactive staff and delicious food to enjoy, it makes the whole experience well worth it. I went with my partner to celebrate an achievement and we had the best day. We sat on the Oaks terrace, while enjoying the local live musicianss talent and the stunning views under the trees. I look forward to visiting here soon.

Words cannot describe this place to be frank, this place has to be see for one to really appreciate the beauty and the setting this place sits in and all that beauty combined with food and service beyond excellent makes this place even more important just as the golden pages of history happened here over 200 years ago.

After we complained about a bad odor from their prawns they took the time to get us a bill so we can go somewhere else. The waiter was great but management service was horrible.

We visited for lunch and found the place disappointing. The service was poor (perhaps we had a new waitress) and the food was palatable but not good value. I believe the fine dining restaurant for dinner is amazing but there is a real disconnect between that and the picnic style lunch on offer. The tables are tiny when there are 4 adults which made eating tricky (my friend had to put her plate on her lap). The craft beer was over priced, there was astoundingly no local gin on offer (and Cape Town has some amazing craft gin) and they didnt even have grappa for the boys to end with. Lovely setting and an interesting old building are the only reason I gave it 2 stars.

The view and restaurant beautiful but never had such a bad experience with service. There is no manager in sight and no one seams to know what they are doing. Was a mess. Food was good. Asked 5 times for water and after 45 minutes finally got it. I think management should seriously look into this. This if they have one

Loved it! If youre looking for an amazing sunset (yass Golden Hour!) and views over Camps Bay, sundowners and good (okay) food then youre at the right place. Also kid/dog? friendly which is nice during the day but gets more lively as the sun goes down.

Great views, goodish food, although I found it very sneaky to serve Mac and chess in balls at such a high price. Your jugs are tasty but needs more of the liquid than, the ice and the fruit in there. I asked for a drink jug not a fruit salad. Good service from waiters, but there a difference between friendly and being familiar. Seems they rely on their location and views to attract the crowds.. Overall average experience.

We celebrated a friend’s birthday here on a Saturday afternoon and had a great time. She said that she booked online the week of and could choose which deck she preferred. The top deck has a beautiful view of the ocean and surrounding mountains. The service was very good and fast from our waitress. Cheese and meat platters were amazing, might need to order additional bread or crackers though. Pizzas were also good. Ladies wearing heels might struggle as it’s quite a climb from the parking lot unless you’re using an Uber which will be able to drop you right in front. I would definitely advise bringing a jacket along as the weather can change quickly after the sun sets. I didn’t use the loo but it looked like there were only rented toilets available. There is a dirt road exiting the venue but it’s only for a few meters. Overall it was a lovely experience and I would definitely be back.

It was nice. Cocktails and pizza both very tasty. Staff were friendly and did their best to be efficient at serving big tables, but at times, they seemed to be overwhelmed. My suggestion would be for more staff to be assigned to the bigger parties.

Beautiful place and views but the most horrible food ever!!!! I ordered wings and they tasted like they had vinegar, waiter denied this but the chef later confirmed it. I then opted for a chicken burger which came with the bottom roll soaked in oil because of the tasteless sauce that was in it!!! I didn’t eat anything nor pay for my meal. Such a disappointment because the place had nice reviews!!!

What an amazing morning , I arrived before 10 am very friendly and fast service , loved the breakfast and best of all amazing view. Would go there again and again .
