Wittedrift Manor is a one of a kind experience in the heart of Tulbagh in the Tulbagh valley. Whilst the city is known for its ancient houses in Church street, the entire valley is definitely worth a visit. As is the Wittedrift Manor House. A warm and cosy place with Carol and PJ as your hosts. It is a family-like place with an exceptional Interieur and a place which feels like home in an instant. It is an experience you may not have had before - and experience which stucks with me and puts a smile on my face everytime I think of it.

We visited Wittedrift Manor House in February, just before lockdown. This property has the most amazing history - do take time to visit the little museum next door and chat with Carol. Then, feast your eyes on the decor. Wow!

Beautiful venue. Staff are very welcoming and very friendly. They catered for our every need (including our wide variety of dietary ones) Rooms were comfortable and clean. Very warm with heaters and heated blankets for those who feel the cold.

Old fashion charm; beautiful maintained from the 70s! The blue room was spacious, fresh, great bed. Lounge relaxing, great escape from the cities noise.Superb hospitality.

Carol, who manages the guest house, has to be the most hospitable host I have ever encountered on all my travels. She made the whole stay enjoyable, comfortable and relaxed. And organise a glass of wine by the swimming pool - nothing is too much trouble for her. The rooms are spacious and tastefully furnished. Sharon was polite and friendly and the room was clean. Lisa was willing, over friendly and inappropriate dressed and behaviour

Home celebration laughter and memories -great spot for a family and friends get together - what an amazing house filled with art, and interesting things - great kitchen with glassware cutlery and artifacts hanging from the ceiling - great comfy 4poster beds - had the best sleep ever - classy linen and the finer details touches and welcome made our stay. Historic H-shaped cape Dutch manor house on a sprawling leafy property is definitely home from home. You could just use it for sleeping and exploring the many unique attractions on the doorstep and no more than 10 minutes drive down the valley BUT once youve met owner PJ and manager Carol, youre going to linger for wine and snacks around the pool or join the townspeople for a 4 course sit down dinner!

We stayed at the gorgeous manor house early this year and carol treated us like family as we have been a few times to eat at readers and on her recommendation booked in at the manor. The house itself is gorgeous but as a non smoker seeing dirty astrays and staff smoking in the guests area - and the astrays just left not acceptable.

Absolutely amazing place to stay. Completely spoilt, beautiful, beautiful people and makes you feel completely comfortable! Love it! Highly recommended

What an amazing space. We rented the whole Manor house and it was home away from home with quirky touches. Everything you may need. Great way for a group of friends to explore Tulbagh.

Has potential to improve as rooms spacious with high ceilings, comfortable and clean. Carol as a hostess is welcoming, sharing and advising what to do and what is new in the valley and giving us space to enjoy the beautiful garden and pool area, sadly this area was also being used by staff and friends swimming, drinking and smoking.

A Group of us booked a couple of rooms in the Wittedrift Manor House while attending the Vintage & Wine Festival in Tulbagh. This beautiful Manor House transported me straight back into an era of the waltz and ballgowns. It did however adopt and beautifully merged with the modern times and offered us all the amenities we needed to have a comfortable break from city life. No doubt the first booking that will be made the next time I visit Tulbagh.

Super friendly and helpful owner and staff. PJ and Carol made us feel very welcome and were happy to check us in afterhours without prior reservation. PJ also arranged a lovely hike for my wife and I the following day and helped us plan our iternary during our stay in Tulbagh.

Perfect timing as we met the manager Carol who showed us around After a night on the town Lee invited us to the house to show us the rooms and around, just perfect timing that Carol was there as no sign of Lee. Gracious home and gorgeous gardens

We had our intimate wedding at Wittedrift and absolutely loved it.

It was awesome from the start. The (stunning) home (not just a house) is filled with interesting and beautiful local artwork. PJ and Carol are awesome hosts leaving nothing to chance. Carol was especially great in that she had memorised our food and drink preferences in a jiffy.If youre wanting a home away from home and want the top experiences in the area then youd have to ask PJ.PJ knows everyone and everyone knows PJ... JUST AWESOMEThank you guys for going way beyond all expectations. We will be back, for sure.

Owners and staff of the place are always in the guest space and using the facilities with their friends with no thought to paying guest - dogs are also not mentioned but that worked out fine at the end.
