Fantastic service, very friendly and helpful staff. Welcoming. Eclectic mixture of artworks and decorations with a warm fireplace inside and lively relaxed outside seating area.

Lovely atmosphere with a beautiful, shaded deck area where you can sit and enjoy their delicious coffee next to the river... -what a special treat to get dark brown sugar as an option for sweetness in the cappuccinos. Friendly waiters and lots of food and drink options on the menu -will have to go back to try one of the breakfast/lunch items. The cheesecake and milk tart is really good. Will definitely recommend this wonderful restaurant.

The setting under the trees next to the river is excellent. The menu seemed pricier than most places until we got our food, the portions and quality is worth every cent. Well worth a visit.

Came for lunch and had the Cape Malay Bobotie. It was very delicious and a great serving size.Sat outside next to the river and the whole area had a great atmosphere. Big trees outside throwing lots of shade over the seating area.Will definitely visit again.

Fast and friendly service of delicious food. The menu is printed in both Afrikaans and English, with a wide variety of breakfast, lunch and dessert items. I had a breakfast ratatouille, which was fragrant and well seasoned with two perfectly poached eggs.The tables are under shady trees or on a deck overlooking a river. The tables are also well spaced (not crowded together) , which makes it ideal for the Covid conscious and quite serene.We asked before hand if our little dog was allowed, and they said yes. The parking is also quite convenient.The portions are satisfying and not over priced. Overall, it was a very nice experience.

Love the ambience and decor. Excellent service and delicious food. Visited the Saturday and had the Cheese cake, seating outside next to the river. Before departing Sunday had breakfast, had the poached eggs with bacon on rye, seating inside. Will definitely return!

Setting is lovely with seating under the trees and on a terrace overlooking a little stream flowing by.I had the chicken pie which was delicious and the wife had the bobotie which she also thought was a good dish to order.The service was excellent and I have to say the time spent there was enjoyable.

Fantastic restaurant, serving excellent breakfasts, lunches and teas set next to a little river. Enjoy your dining experience outside under the trees or on the little deck overlooking the river. During inclement weather there is a lovely big log fire burning inside the restaurant. Portions are generous ans beautifully presented. Service is friendly and efficient.

Very nice place and i would recommend it to tourists and foreigners but not for locals. The food is good, service is satisfactory and the staff are all friendly, but even a ham and cheese sandwich is ridiculously expensive!

Situated in the lovely old part of Swellendam next to a river, the lush Oak trees provide shade even on the warmest of days. The menu caters for a wide variety of tastes and budgets.There are 6 parking spaces and you can only see them once you have turned into the property.This place is wheelchair friendly if you have assistance since the paving is very uneven. You would also need help if you visit the 🚻.The staff was very friendly and helpful.

So disappointing that a restaurant with such an amazing setting has such poor quality food. The quiche, which I was told was freshly made on the day, tasted and looked a week old. Over and above that the portion size does not warrant the price. My husband had the fish and chips and all I can say about his dish is that at least the chips looked appetizing....the fish was dry and looked as if it had been in a freezer for over a year before it was cooked. Id suggest that the menu is simplified to include fewer options and that focus should be on quality not quantity. Freshly made dishes are always worth the wait instead of horrible reheated food. Service was not great either as we had to go look for staff to order food and pay the bill. Definitely not a restaurant well be visiting again.

Ate at the restaurant on a Sunday morning during loadshedding. Most tables were full, but we still managed a table overlooking the water. Filter coffee was good and eggs Benedict was delicious!Some options were not available due to loadshedding, but they offered alternatives. Service was a tad bit slow due to the number of tables.
