Really good food, very friendly staff. Our of their way to help. Good COVID protocols in place.

Beautiful facility with an amazing atmosphere. The live band was a wonderful touch to a warm afternoon in the garden. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the space. The only let down was the heritage braai was not really a braai however the food served was simply divine and the champagne kept flowing. Looking forward to visiting again

What a terrible time! After our spa appointment we wanted something sweet with a coffee... We ordered dessert, I ordered the chocolate and orange but was so disappointed when the wrong dessert came and did not match the description on the menu, our waiter said he knew nothing about tye menu and would call the chef in charge... thechefin charge told us..my dessert was wrongly sent out. When we enquired about my friends desert description on the menu, she just saidthey wrote wrong, and showed us the picture she had in the kitchen ofhow the plate should look, we got a completely frozen mousse as a new dessert with a very stale macaron filled with lemon icing(full of lemon essence flavouring...Then the bill.... Waited 40 minutes for the bill to come and the it was wrong!Not acceptable for such an establishment!!! Not even the fantastic coffee could mke up f9r the bad service...

Good... but not great.We expected a lot more from such a fancy establishment, especially when reserving weeks in advance for a set menu.The service was a bit lacking, the live music was something we could go without, the seating wasnt optimal and the food just didnt make us want to go back.All in all, it wasnt bad, but it wasnt great either.We probably just went in with higher expectations than we shouldve because we paid quite a lot for our evening.Lacuna Bistro gets a Good on Ye from Two Tasty Tummies.

Lacuna Bar was disappointing for me. I expected so much more from a 5 star hotel. I paid R265 x2 for hubby n myself. We got reallyyy small cappuccinos on arrival. For hot breakfast there was sausages beef pork chicken bacon mushrooms baked beans Hash brown. Thats it. Pastries also very limited. Just your average health breakfast. Really disappointing experience....sorry guys

Came here with my husband when we tried to eat at the main Lacuna Bistro but we were refused because you had to make a reservation even though we are guests of the hotel. Was pretty annoyed at that so we were told to eat at the bar. Get to the bar - it definitely has this upscale, chichi look to it and there are lots of young millennial locals who were here based on the South African languages I could hear.The food is decent bar food. Ordered the chicken burger with the tacos. I actually thought the tacos were pretty good seeing that we were really hungry. Service takes about 45mins.I would take the tacos and smaller plates over the chicken burgers. Anyway it is good if you are very hungry and staying at the hotel but the wait time is long.

Relaxed atmosphere, great food. Definite recommendation for dining out. Service does need some work though

The cocktails were delicious! Beautiful setting! I would have rated it higher had it not been for the slow service. Sunday was a slow day and despite the few customers in the bar, one has to beg for service. A pity because the setting and location make it ideal for sundowners.

Did the high tea, which although the food and tea was tasty, had no pairing between the various courses and tea matched, savory mainly mini burgers. Sweet was a good and interesting buffet option

The service was atrocious. There were literally 4 or 5 tables occupied but the service was really slow. The food was bland and scant: poor quality meat, under cooked potatoes & veggies so few it was pointless having them on the plate at all. For the price you pay, the value is shockingly low. I wouldnt recommend.

Stayed at the hotel and had breakfast. The space is cool and airy, but the food was disappointing. There were large flies buzzing around the pastries, the food selection was limited and low quality. The cooked food was bland and the sausage texture was off-putting. The coffee is self-service from a machine, not served by waiters. The waiters are slow to clear plates and do not interact, no greetings, no taking our order for tea, etc. I had better breakfast at the airport hotel than I did here.

Been there 3 times, and must say the service is the absolute WORST. The staff dont care about the customers at all. Each time we couldnt get a waiter to notice us after 25 minutes. She gave us menus and never returned. I had to go order at the bar. Drinks came 30 minutes after that. We didnt order food but I shudder to think how long we would have waited.Great looking hotel, stunning decor at this bar, but absolutely not worth the aggravation of visiting especially given the prices.

Extreme poor service. Being one of only two people in the restaurant, our drinks order took half an hour to prepare. Furthermore, portion sizes were pathetic and 2 meals were left off the order. Will not be returning, would rather visit the McDonalds across the road.

Great food and service but hefty price.

Yhuuu the service at Lacuna is poor, Ive been there multiple times, and as time goes by it gets worse. The last time I was there the bar was basically empty and we waited and waited and waited for one of the waiters to come and take our order. Needless to say this never happened, so we left and no one even batted an eyelid. Not planning on ever going there again.

The service was nonexistent. I went there to meet colleagues and was the first one to arrive. It took 15 minutes for someone to notice that I had not been served. It was an hour later before we could place meal orders. An extra half hour later the food had still not arrived and I was out of there.This is not the standard one expects from a restaurant in a top hotel in Sandton. Definitely never going back there again.

Excellent place to hang out. the cutters are great and the drinks are cold. the service needed some work, but al in al, its a great place to hang out.

Food is good, service inconsistent/inattentive

Tried 3 times to get a booking . Was told they dont serve sushi on a weekend . Left my name and number for someone to call me back to confirm a lunch booking . No one bothered . Left and went somewhere else . Whoever answered the phone had no idea what they do at the hotel . Far from 4 star . Dissapointed . Great spa though . Africology Spa the best in Joburg by far .
