I ordered a burger from this establishment off uber eats, it cost around R115.00 the burger was soggy and I had a slice of processed cheese on top, which seems a bit weird since it’s called a gourmet burger. Furthermore after I rated them on uber eats and explained issue on Ubereats the owners response was poor. I wouldn’t support this establishment their service and food are of a substandard quality in comparison to price.

This Baron has been our local for 25 years and never disappoints. It has also stood the test of time. Best steaks too.

I havent been to the Baron Woodmead since I moved out of Gauteng in 2007. Decided to pop round for a business lunch while in town for a few days and I can say that the steaks are still one of the best in the country. Service was tops as always and the staff as friendly as ever. Full marks for consistency at a very high level which is all one really wants from a great restaurant.

Been going here for years. Very well managed, staff know exactly what they are doing and food is consistently great, better than some other high-end restaurants. Renowned for their steaks, but try the chicken peri peri too.

Looking for something meaty? Or old fashioned bar with fireplace? This is the place to go then. Food is great with very generous portion, atmosphere is also great. Only non-5 star experience is asked for Jack Black on tap, but came with a bit warm. Other popular beers have no problem at all.

This is a place Id definitely frequent more often if I lived in the area.Not only were the staff friendly and professional but the manager responded to my queries via messaging the establishment on Google - this is a first and I appreciated the effort and attention involved.Though the place isnt Child-Friendly the waiters tried their best to keep my little toddler occupied (we were meeting friends who were out from the UK)There was a roaring fire to keep everyone warm inside and a well-attended outside section where people could smoke.The food was delicious and beautifully presented.To the Baron Woodmead staff and manager, thank you for maintaining a class of quality in a casual environment. We need more places like this in Johannesburg.

Why does caft beer have to be so pricy, also snack basket, while tasty was not value for money.

You will love the food. Its a nice place to chill and catch up with friends or family or if you just want to have decent undisturbed fun.. The place is freedom.

Quick service with a smile, and a very thorough selection on offer. A slight let down with the quality of the platters serving more than one person, and to be honest the pricing on alcohol is on the high side. Great steaks, though, and even better burgers. Try the liver & onion for a real treat.

A more upmarket but still casual pub and restaurant with big TVs for sports lovers. Its always busy but you should be able to find at least one table. Food was really good. Drinks were really cold. Excellent service. I really enjoyed and will pop in again when in the area.

The star rating is mostly nostalgic as I have been an on-off customer for many years as this establishment is part of my home turf.Yesterday evening we had the most delicious lamb chops with mash potato, onion rings and spinach, washed down with our house wine which is Warwick First Lady. The chops were done to perfection, the spinach they have definitely got the recipe for, a memorable meal altogether.Pleasant ambience and friendly wait staff, definitely recommended for a good evening out.

An absolute superb pub and restaurant which has been around for many years.A classic go to place for the boys, groups or even a nice dinner with the wife.Area is busy and full of shops and great restaurants over the road.Fond memories of great evenings spent there for the last 15 years.
