I ordered a wrap. There was very little toppings on. It was mostly just wrap. I am very unimpressed with the value for your money. It didnt taste great. It was very dry. In my opinion, the food is too expensive for what you get. Not worth it. Wouldnt get food here again.

EXCELLENT! Nestled in a quaint neighbourhood with plenty of cool graffiti, street art and different restaurants. Clean, trendy yet relaxed atmosphere. Servers are actually knowledgeable regarding menu items and recommendations, very friendly yet professional (also very attentive). Coffee was top notch and so was the food. Its a nice change from the normal boring coffee shop menus to have some real inspired food with substance. You can see through all the small touches that the chefs, and owner care allot about what goes out and you can taste it. Its obviously a popular establishment as some menu items were sold out mid morning, and thats okay because the food was THAT good. I have to also mention the beautiful crockery and serving plates, good idea to order a few different items and share. Definitely returning to try the duck and waffles. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Thanks Angelique (one of the waitresses, I didnt manage to get the other gentlemans name) and team!

As loyal customers, we love Central and always enjoyed going there. Until we realized that loyalty doesn’t mean anything to the restaurant at all. Before we even finished our drinks or dinner, we got “kicked out” and was “kindly asked to leave” at 8:50 pm.Would not recommend Central at all.

If you want awesome food, amazing coffee and great service, Central restaurant is the place to go. A wonderful gem nestled in the heart of Hazelwood with really great atmosphere over weekends. I went there on Friday evening and arrived there a bit late and the kitchen was actually closed already, but Danielle the manager on duty said she will organize with the kitchen to which I was really thankful at first but even more so very grateful at the end of the evening, because I probably had the best meal I have had in a very long time (Coconut Chicken Curry served with Greek Yoghurt) with the great coffee alongside it. Jillienne and Sakka the two amazing waitresses who served me that night, just once again proved the wonderful service one can look forward to when visiting Central. Jilliennes recommendation in adding Greek yoghurt to the meal, was so spot on and also showed she not only strives to offer excellent service but also knows her dishes, a big thank you Jillienne, I really enjoyed it all. Thank you Sakka for your service, and a big thank you Danielle for allowing me to sit down and order and thank you Central for amazing food, great service and a wonderful atmosphere.

Flew up from Cape Town to Pretoria for a family crisis. Have been driving around between hospitals for two days and finally got a break to have some breakfast and coffee.Visited Central Restaurant this morning. Accessibility is an issue since I am temporarily disabled. I am actually wheelchair bound as I am not allowed to walk on one foot, but used my crutches to enter the restaurant since wheelchair accessibility is a bit hard. Theres no disabled parking in the area either.My brother chose to get a takeaway coffee from the restaurant next door while I vhose what to order from Central. Before I could order, the restaurant the manager informed me that it is against their policy to order from two places.I moved with my crutches to the coffeeshop next door and eventually didnt eat or drink anything.A very disappointing experience to compound a very exhausting and traumatising week.

Opposite Tasos bar & grill, Central restaurant is located in one of Pretoria true gems,Hazelwood. The best vibe and atmosphere for a young couple through to a family of 8. I ordered steak and I was pleasantly surprised. The rest of the food was decent but honestly speaking the atmosphere alone is enough for me to recommend this place. Service could be improved as they are a little under staffed. I would recommend as a must try.

Great little gem with really great coffee. Their menu is a little different with interesting combinations of flavours.Their rolled omelette with the salmon, spinach and cream cheese was literally one of the best things I have ever eaten. This is a must when you have the opportunity to eat here.

The coffee was good and so was the food. However, although the service was courteous and friendly, we experienced it to be extremely slow. We waited for nearly 40 minutes for two simple breakfast items.

Central is a gem within the Old East/Food Village precinct of Hazelwood in Pretoria.Great ambiance, although not as crowded as some of the neighbouring restaurants, great for a romantic dinner for two or a peaceful family outing. The waiters and hostess are polite.The choice of food is diverse, with a great selection of vegetarian and vegan options, wonderful seafood (the calamari is a must!) and meats. Central has smaller meze/starters as well as larger portions.The wine selection is exquisite while also boasting an impressive collection of gins.Central was recommended by a colleague and it has quickly become a dinner-time favourite.

The venue is awesome but the food is the CENTRAL attraction. Great friendly service! Best visit in the Village.

The coffee was great, the food delicious but the service was incredibly slow especially since they werent busy. It took almost 25 minutes to get drinks and another 30 for food (bread and butter pudding French toast style).

Had an incredible experience at Central lastnight. Did not even know it had opened until yesterday when we were looking for a new place to eat! Service was so great, Monica is such a gem. My friend had the lamb chops and mash. He was not too impressed as there could have been a bit more flavour. I had the ratatouille risotto which was AMAZING. for dessert we had the churro waffle - thoroughly impressed. But...the star of the show was definitely the rice pudding...not too sweet, not too rich - hit exactly the right spot.Well done to the team at Central, we look forward to coming back!

Great restaurant, but why arent you listening to all the reviews regarding slow service? Same issue.

On Sunday my wife and I popped in at Central in Hazelwood for a brunch...she had breakfast bagle and I had Std Bacon and Eggs for brekkie, and we had some healthy Juices that were excellent. Unfortunately my breakfast was sub par, my fried eggs looked like plastic and were hard, and my wife Breakfast bagle was dry and unpleasant .... we were quite dissapointed, should have made better brekkie at home or gone elsewhere on that street~ Then when we received the bill it was obvious to us that we were not getting any good value for money, and this strip in Hazelwood is very competitive with various establishments to choose from. The African lady that served us did not really want to be there and it was obvious..Central, I can pop in at anytime and assist your chefs in the fine art of frying the perfect egg, and this will change your breakfast game, guaranteed~

This is a restaurant with great food in the very popular Hazelwood culinary area. The cuisine I guess is a mix of Mediterranean dishes, predominantly Greek and Italian, and I suppose what some might call a fusion of the two. Atmosphere is pretty good, but mostly because one sits outside while the small interior space remains mostly empty. So far weve been there for lunch in very nice weather, so its been lovely outside. Not sure what happens if one visits for a dinner in winter. Only one star removed because since being there last week, the prices were jacked up by around 20% with a new menu. Still though, considering the quality of the dishes, its a really good choice in the area, and remains reasonably priced. The Ragu Tagliatelle is delicious.
