Ocean Basket is consistently good value no matter which branch you choose and at Woodlands it is particularly pleasant to have a bite after shopping and watch people passing by.My calamari steak and chips was delicious and reasonably priced but the service was slow.

Ordered the Main Calamari meal with a side salad and Berry Cheesecake. The portions were quite small in comparison to the price. The Cheesecake was tiny, with a shockingly small diameter of only 8cm and height of only 2.5cm. More of a tartlet than a cake, but cost just as much as a proper slice of cake would cost at most other restaurants. At R 61.00 definitely way overpriced! In addition it arrived in a completely frozen state, even though the order took over an hour to arrive. Not impressed. First and last time I will order from Ocean Basket.

Great abd and quick service their food is always fresh

It was my first time coming to ocean basket and the food was just delicious. The fish and prawns arw honestly some of the best ive had. Genuinely an amazing dining experience.

We had Sushi, Calamari 3 ways and Kingklip with Calamari. The Calamari was cooked well and tender, but unfortunately there were a lot of grainy bits, almost like sand crunching between your teeth. Perhaps it was not cleaned well enough? Sadly the Kingklip was overcooked and rubbery too. However, the flavour of everything was great and the Sushi was very satisfying.

I live in Cape Town, and ordered my cousin in Pretoria a meal on Uber Eats for her Birthday. I called the branch to ask if they could please write Happy Birthday on the box. I didnt catch the friendly mans name, but he was so happy to help me and my cousin was delighted with the food & special note. Thank you for great service!

I was honestly so surprised by how incredible my visit here was this morning. Even as a vegaterian, my food, the med veg bowl, was absolutely divine. Our waiter, Joy, was very catering and friendly, the manager, Clayton, was so welcoming and made us feel right at home. Their flavors all mix together perfectly, their drinks are amazing! Highly recommended you take a visit there ASAP!

I tried the online ordering for the first time, nice and easy! Only glitch was that I did not get the e-mail to confirm that the store had received my order, but nothing was going to deter me from getting my seafood fix. When I arrived at the store not only was my order almost ready, but the upgrade on the prawns was also done. Very friendly efficient staff!!

It seems like the branch is (understandably) still trying recover from the Covid lockdown shock, new waiters although efficient, are not as friendly as before and portion sizes are not as generious and soft as before.

The food and coffee was cold. It wasnt clean. When I have to pay a lot, then I would like to have a dishcloth and komfortable chairs.

My experience at your store in Woodlands was terrible. I am not a regular customer at Ocean Basket as I usually prefer John Dorys. I eat at a fish restaurant every week at least once (usually John Dorys) this weekend I tried Ocean Basket for the first time in a while. The service was slow and unfriendly from the waitress. The fish was dry and very thin, it reminds me of dried fish you buy in African markets. The manager was very friendly and wanted to investigate why we left so early, but the food you produce at this outlet for all customers was so unbelievably poor that no one can ever convince me to return to any Ocean Basket ever. I do not want any vouchers or free meals as I most certainly will never return to any Ocean Basket. I just wanted to bring my experience to your attention as I believe that honest feedback could help you maintain future business.

Services was excellent staff really did go out of their way toilets clean and hygienic there arrived a. Christmas car dishing out some sweets for the children it was awesome

Terrible service. Waited for a long time for service, then received the wrong food. Manager not even interested to assist.

Quick drop-in for some takeout. The spot was cold and drafty and I was happy for the choice of not eating in.Food was fresh and tasteful and the warm bread buns made up for an extra star.Will try eating in during summer again

Overpriced. I could buy a 2 liter coke for R22 at any other place. You charged me R 24 for a small tin of coke calling it large. I have nothing against you taking a profit but to overcharge is criminal. The same goes for the other drinks.Your food is excellent.

I ordert a combo meal and got 1 fish 1 small squid 10 chips and 1 calamari and had to pay R150 for that don’t ever order or visit ocean basket woodlands this place you will lose money.

Disappointed. We were seated by a Friendly Hostess but that is where the service ended. After sitting at the table for 15 minutes we got up and left because not a single person attended to us or came to take our order. The couple that was seated at the next table over were attended to immediately after the hostess left seated them, they arrived about 10 minutes after we did.

Visit the restaurant for lunch on 3 January 2020 with my wife.Waited for 40 minutes for our food to be served.After I complained the food suddenly appeared!The manager on duty and the waiter never visit us during the extreme long wait I am also still waiting for my side salad to be served. Service and food usually very good.that was when Nathan the manager was in charge..had such terrible service yesterday...beers warm, prawn cocktail salad had only 3 prawns cut in half.. main meal we ordered veggies they never arrived but a salad we never ordered...spoke with manager who was not interested..kept saying this is how it comes! Definatly they trying to cut back on things...will support the surrounding restuarants in future.

Probably the best ocean basket I have went in Pretoria. Service is great and the food is really good. This branch is consistent and efficient when it comes to platter for two which is my usual order.

Sadly some of the worst service Ive experienced at any OB. We waited 45 mins for a small plate of sushi, we were told that there was a large sushi order that caused the delay, in the time we waited another couple arrived, ordered drinks, food and had dessert in the time we had waited for our one plate of sushi.

Food is always great+1. Staff are friendly and good service. OB is consistent to provode value for money.
