Food was delicious. Service was amazing. Really enjoyed the Hake Thermador and Seashell Platter.

Wonderful service received at the sushi bar from General and Ian! And the Owner treated us like royalty and took care of all our needs all night 10/10 would recommend!

My friend and I went to try sushi for the very first time, everyone there was just amazing. The chef, Mandla made the absolute best sushi ever and Niren gave us a whole tutorial on how to eat sushi, from using chop sticks to mixing the sauces, everything. I absolutely love it here🥺😍😍😭. Our waiter Clarence was also just perfect and so nice🥺

My last 2 Ocean Basket meals at Forest Hill & Centurion Mall was poor, tried John Dorys & I must say, quick service, excellent fresh fish with decent size portions, will keep on coming back.....

The food is delicious, warm and on a non-busy day it arrives as expected (10-15 minutes max). I will always enjoy John Dorys sushi especially on a half price sushi Wednesdays. The waiters are very friendly and helpful although the environment isnt the quietest place to enjoy a meal, it is still very nice restuarant that Ill always recommend for a nice get together.

We ordered from John Dorys Menlyn to be delivered via Uber Eats. I was not happy with the quantity of fish that we received for the price we paid. When I called, the manager/owner Niren answered. He prepared us another serving with all the sides etc. and came to deliver it personally to our front door. Service like this should be commended. We will definitely recommend this John Dorys to any one and will make use of them again. Thank you Niren!

Wow to John Dorys for picking up and dealing with my previous issue, you guys are amazing for the way you handled in detail the situation we experienced, thank you once again, and I do retract my words and will be visiting you soon!!We did not have great service at all, walked in and within 10min we left, our waiter was so occupied with other people and receiving more tables that he did not introduce himself or even properly share the Sushi specials with us, just half heartedly waved his hands and mumbled over the menu, I doubt Ill ever visit this restaurant again.

This is officially my favorite John Dorys. I write this review following a great tempura schnitzel supreme meal. Now coming from a person that never normally orders chicken at places other than Nandos or Gallitos I can honestly say that this trounced both. Amazing staff and even better meals. I will definitely be back.

I love their sushi! Its so delicious and unique. Was just a bit disappointing that they were out of stock on several things, but I do understand that restaurants do struggle to get stock due to lockdown. But I highly recommend this place if you are a sushi lover!

The Prawns are really great here

Service very poor! 26 August. Was told to go sit at a table and had no waiter attending to our table. After 30 min I phoned from my table asking for a waiter. The manager on duty came up and took our drinks order. After a while the drinks arrived and we placed our order. The food took so long to arrive at our table. Waiters was non existent and when we got hold of one I placed another order of Sushi and after 30 min I asked another waiter to call our attending waiter. He gave an excuse that the guy making the sushi was under pressure while looking at the sushi bar there was an overflow of sushi. Service wat utterly bad. After so long wait I cancelled the order and asked the bill. Absolutely disappointing service

We went on a Tuesday afternoon, had the 3 plate green sushi special at R99, and Hake and chips special for R49. Was delicious!

Typical Mall Food Court experience and atmosphere. Load, public, open, Order, eat, pay, leave as quickly as possible. Not a great place to take your family for dinner. Food was good, service good, but leaning to average. Waited a while for our drinks in spite of the low occupancy. Food was served quicker, and all 6 dishes arrived at the same time. It is what it is. Pop in while you are in the mall, you won’t be disappointed for what it is.

We had lunch there today and like previous times, the sushi and service were excellent. I would like to compliment Chipo who was our waitress. She deserves 5 stars!

This is a fantastic restaurant. We do not miss a Wednesday for half price sushi. Even on other days we get great service, good food and all of this at n sweet price. Jaco(one of the managers) always goes above and beyond. No request too difficult. Well done!

Ordered 3 items... returned one... chicken was raw... fish had scales (entirely scaled fish. Not unscaled at all) on them and was told that their fish comes with scales by the manager. We had some sushi, that was good.Then we ordered a platter for 1 to share. Calamari and chips was good bit the rest of the food was horrible. Service not too bad, can see they are trying. When I asked to speak to the owner, they answerded he is not here and only comes once a month or so! Now I know why the food is not good at this shop! Because owner is more on holiday than tending to his shop.

The menu have a good selection of delicious and well prepared meals. The service was prompt and friendly. Play area for the kids while the adults enjoy our meals in peace.

Just had one of my favourite restaurant meals ever. Great food! The Cheesy Prawn Tail, as well as the Prawn Bisque starters were fantastic! Friendly, enthusiastic wait staff who check in regularly. Will come back any day, any time.

I would give it 4 stars but my first portion of sushi tastes a little bit old, but the rest was pretty good.
