Pleasant evening at Somethings Cooking. Great set up! Enjoyed the surroundings and props. Ordered the J something chicken, with a side of creamy mash and mushroom sauce + Roast pork belly with Anise carrot puree, burnt onion ponzu salsa & balsamic glazed carrots. The chicken was excellent... Tender and moist. Great tasting creamy mash which was elevated with an out of this world mushroom sauce. The pork belly was good... When you put all of the elements together it becomes a musical melody to the taste buds... But the crackling was not crackling some parts were a bit rubbery in texture and hard to eat. I believe that should have been more crispy.This let the dish down a bit. Overall, great experience and will visit again to try something else on the exciting menu.

Truly a taste sensational experience. Chicken was flavorful and cooked to perfection.Son had the beef burger and raved abt how tasty the patty was.Hubby had the steak. Medium. Was juicy flavorsome and tender. Definitely worth the try.

Food was good, but was not worth the price they charge. My steak however was excellently prepared and the rustic chips were really good. The menu was a little bit limited for my liking, but just about sufficed.What a beautiful restaurant though. The view from the balcony was the highlight. The whole vibe was so to my taste. Just wish I went when it was busier.

Nice place. Burger good patty but just normal burger and chips nothing special, Rocomamas is beter so try something else. Rest said food was good. Will try again one day to get beter idea but been at beter places. Nice views.

Service was good as well as food. burger was yummy, ribs were absolutely delicious. few negative points were the wings had too much of mushie skin with feather on it and the rump steak had a bit of a cowchy smell. aside that, it was a good experience, Casio our server made it a very enjoyable meal.

The food was absolutely fantastic, a bit on the pricey side but still wonderful. The atmosphere was calm and the view from the rooftop was stunning. Our waiter was friendly and checked on us regularly. The variety on the menu was great and each dish is complimentary with the flavours. I would reccomend eating at this restaurant. The desserts are especially tasty and intriguing.

We arrived hungry and ready to devour anything put infront of us. Unfortunately after the nearly 45min wait from putting in our order, the baby-est baby chicken and the blandest steak in my life arrived with chips instead of mash potatoes. The chicken was sent back for being too dry and overcooked and was removed from our bill by the manager. The steak was engulfed because it was meat and a man must eat. The sauces were watery and the tiny portions were so tiny. There were also inexplicable garnishes on our plates which I found trite.Overall, food 2/10, atmosphere 5/10, service 5/10. We will not be back.

The moms prawns which i had. Were amazing. They are huge but I got like 5 of them and for a prawn lover like me they were not enough. Their stuff are the friendliest people i have met in pretoria recently. Oh and i had this other burger forgot its name, its got avo chakalaka and a boerewors pattie and O. M. W the boerewors pattie......... Out of this world. I think they used the SA number one wors to do the pattie and it was toooo nice

What s lovely experience! We arrived late at night just before the kitchen was about to close. Our waiter was very helpful and accommodating. The menu has something for everyone and the food and service were top notch. We were the last customers but our waiter was not impatient in the least. I would really recommend this place to everyone without a doubt. They treat you like royalty from start to finish!

The best chicken wings i have had. The vibe is very upbeat. The drinks are not to expensive but are delicious. Open view kitchen so you can see the chefs at work. There is an inside and outside seating.

This was probably one of the most disappointing experiences of the year! The drinks that were made aka. Cocktails didn’t resemble what was advertised on the menu, the starters were ok to average sort of giving hope that the meals may have been satisfactory but low and behold this was the greatest disappointment of the night beef short rib covered in fat hardly a bite of meat, this was taken back and a new portion came to the table this was super dry and over cooked I don’t really know what we payed for the pork ribs were though and the management and chef came to the table to explain themselves but as usual they don’t have solutions.All of this after the waiter assured us that the food is great we should have known better than to walk into an empty restaurant.The only good this was our friendly waiter.But nothing else was worth our time.

Great food, especially the desserts we tried and I got my steak exactly as I had ordered it. The food is an interesting fusion of Portuguese and South African. The service was top - notch, although the restaurant wasnt particularly busy. Expect to pay up to R200 for a plate though. I would certainly recommend.

Located at Times Square where the newly built casino is in Pretoria. The restaurant is beautiful, with stunning views of the city. It has a warm ambience, music playing in the background and photo wall of beautiful images. It has a restroom inside which is great. The food is creatively presented and damn tasty. Definitely dont mind being a repeat customer. Kiddies menu is a bonus.

Excellent service and chilled vibe

3 stars but only because the service is good. Im not sure what this restaurant is aiming at but the food is very overpriced. Its like they are trying to give a fine dining experience but they fail. The food is average and priced super high. The portions are small. If you are going to do small portions the food need to be excellent but you can get the same type of cooked food for a third of the price and more of it at most other restaurants in South Africa. I wouldnt recommend it at all.

A fantastic restaurant on the deck at Times Square. Beautiful views over Menlyn in the evenings. Staff is friendly and very knowledgable. The food is outstanding. Loved the fried macaroni starter, a classic bit of Mac and cheese covered in breadcrumbs and served with two lovely sauces. The steamed buns with crispy veg was fantastic. The star of the show was the prawns. Large and smothered in a divine sauce. I highly recommend this restaurant and would love to go back done time soon.

The views are great. its on one of the top floors of the time square casino. the food is very tasteful and you can taste that your having a professionally cooked meal. the menue has some interesting options. Portuguese influences are present as well. its on the pricey side with all that said

The restaurant has a beautiful setting and we received a warm welcome at the door on arrival. Our waiters were friendly and accommodating. However, the waiting times for the food were quite long, something about which we were not warned. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. Overall, it was a good experience, but there is room for improvement.

We arrived at the restaurant after making a booking the previous day. OUR TABLE WAS NOT READY!!! It took them 10 minutes to prepare our table. We ordered 4 Main Courses, 2 prawns, a vegetarian paella and a burger. IT TOOK 1.5 HOURS!!! Not even half of the restaurant was full. The waiter was pleasant. The prawns were excellent but overpriced. I would not recommend going there if you want to eat the same evening!!!

Food prices are very high for the quantity and quality they offer. This is not a fine dinning restaurant. Please be realistic. 2 tiny little burgers with only a thin tough slice of beef and fried onion with a sauce like Nandos for R135!!! No guys. You cant rob us like this. Service was excellent!!!

We were very excited to go to the restaurant as weve been planning for a while nowWe were extremely disappointed at the terrible service, cold and very slow waitress called Nthabiseng. There was no juice yet its on the menu. We were the only people in the restaurant but our food took almost an hour to get ready. The experience was very bad,,very disappointed.Please train your staff to be more friendly and flexible. They also make or break customer experience.

Was really disappointed. Not the experience I was hoping for. The sticky wings for starters was just too salty. Actually put me off for mains. The kids chicken goujons had a very flour taste. Not sure why. Dessert was good. Quite expensive but was worth it.

The worst food. My tea pot had no lid, the patty was horrible and the waiter come back to ask for my teaspoon cause they dont have enough . Tomatoes were not ripe, the most white lettuce Ive ever seen. McDonalds and burger King are miles better than what I had.I wouldnt recommend it.

The food and music was awesome, the waiters were a bit under staffed for a Saturday but there was nothing to rush for anyways. The view is nothing to rave about, but the food was on all other levels of yumminess. Overall I loved the experience and definitely will be coming again.

I enjoyed the chips , the drinks and set up of the place is nice. The DJ who was there, played the songs so loud my friend and I were literally shouting at each other to be heard, i did not enjoy that. When we asked the waiter to turn it down a bit they refused. The dessert which was the apple pie was a disappointment and very pricey. When i complained about the dessert, i just got blank stares and snide comments. The burger was very salty.
