Went here for lunch and the service was absolutely great. The food was lovely too, my husband and I both had the stuffed trout with a side of sweet potatoes and we really enjoyed it. The staff are friendly and welcoming and we really enjoyed our dining experience there.

The food and the service in this branch is reasonably good so as the service. The tables are crowded with all the stuff like olive oil, b. vinegar, table napkins et al. Perhaps slightly bigger tables will be better

Favourite sea food joint, great ambience

Situated in a courtyard style (amazing scenic setup😍) community of other amazing restaurants, the seafood menu here is amazing🤤. They also other options for looking for something outside of seafood.

Good service, fresh & tasty food complemented with a perfect ambiance

Food was very very average overall, but squid head starters were tasty, with very chilled atmosphere sitting “outside”. Wasn’t as busy as we were expecting. Bread with mussels was completely burnt underneath. Unfortunately also, didn’t stock certain well known brands of alcohol-and while servers were mostly helpful, ours was a bit all over the place-which really let them down. Manageress did briefly check in, but was to busy flirting with security to really be effective-after numerous questions no one could explain why Fishmonger doesn’t have or can’t get Crab? Definitely slipping-and as a tester for our staff functions(our offices are 2 blocks away) will be looking elsewhere, unless they do something to up their game.

The quality of food is amazing. The fish is fresh, the tuna soul bowl is to die for and you are allowed to enjoy your time there. All credit to the management and the team.

Food was fresh and great. The Sushi was the best I had for quite some time.

Great seafood, friendly professional staff

Considering the state the nation is in with this vivid nonsense. The restaurant is effective and food quality is high. Also I was taken a back by the level of service by waitors and the managers. They were attentive to all our needs and extremely courteous and hospitable. We were greeted at the door and on the way out. Our entire experience was excellent and prices where market related. Food was good. My Fishermans catch/platter was excellent. 3.5 stars because service was really slow on drinks and some meals arrived cooler than expected.

I cant decide if I love or hate this place. Ordered a medium rare stick, came back almost well done. Gave them another chance the second day and same thing happened again. I like the escargot and the bread here but thats about it. Service here was okay, nothing much to fuss nor be amazed about.

Great service, attentive to my needs. The fish was really great. Had the whole fish oven baked, was really worth it. Vegetable was plain, but plain was good and not overbearing.

Fizzy Mango JuiceSadly the beginning of this review has to include the fact that my mango juice was expired!Fortunately the staff corrected the mistake and we could all get along for the remainder of our meal!The food was absolutely refreshing, a surprise in the best way and just such a fun and trendy way to enjoy all the benefits of sushi without having to stuff it into your mouth in one swift bite!The overall atmosphere of the restaurant is always welcoming and gives you a sense of being where it’s happening!

We were blown away with the excellent service... and to top it all.... the food was absolutely delicious... fresh and lovely....

My family went today for my dads birthday and we had Carimah as our waitress. She gave us the most incredible service and she was extremely warm and friendly. If I were to go back I would specifically ask for her if she was on shift. And she arranged a slice of cake for my dad without us asking.

This particular Fishmonger branch in Rosebank is especially good. The seafood was perfectly cooked, firm and fresh and the service was outstanding.Where other seafood restaurant chains cut costs by supplementing their lemon butter with margarine, Fishmonger gives you the real deal because they know youre not stupid and can taste the difference.The attention to detail makes all the difference.  I doubt Ill ever settle for the sea basket option again.We had the vegetable option with our prawns, sole and calamari, which was incredible, and the creamed spinach had been made with a rich stock and actual cream (delicious), which meant it didnt taste like a mouthful of cornstarch like the grey green spinach served by so many other restaurants these days. And Im not a fan of sweet pumpkin or butternut, usually preferring it savoury but theirs had just a hint of orange juice zest and was cooked just right so that it almost converted me. But the seafood was the hero, as it should be. They know how to do it. Best prepared seafood Ive had in Joburg to date.Everything tasted of quality and was presented as such. We felt like we were getting great value and that our investment in the meal was appreciated and not taken for granted. The management run a tight ship and you can tell their waitering staff are well-seasoned and professional,  which is usually an indication of staff that are well-treated. Many restaurants undervalue how important it is to retain and take care of staff for consistency and experience. The constant turnover of staff so common at most restaurants results in service that is mediocre if not disappointing. Undervalued staff give substandard service.The managers are hands on and check in on you in just the right way, without hovering or disturbing your meal and the whole experience was the highlight of our week. We will be back with pomp poms, short skirts and a dance sequence next time because this place is worthy of some cheerleaders. Gimme a Y Gimme a U Gimme a M! Yum!

Iv been here many times over the years and its a great but not inexpensive experience, but tried their paella for the first time recently...I shall order nothing else from there going forward, very generous with very good quality seafood

Fishmonger is a staple in SA positioning itself as the higher end competition in the seafood serving business. The Rosebank franchise was rather concerning, considering that in the midst of the pandemic it was not full, yet they still managed to mess up the order and the one waitress was simply clueless on what the menu contained opting to say dishes didnt exist when they were clearly on the menu🤔

I keep going back for the stuffed King klip it is my ultimate favourite.

Top notch service as well as delicious seafood.

The red snapper is delicious - Cajun or lemon butter - both are equally delicious. The sweet potatoes are some of the best I’ve had, and the morogo is maybe the best in town. I dine alone most of the time and the food can take a minute here so I bring a book or listen to an audio book or use the time to submit reimbursement receipts to work - But sitting outside on their patio with a book or tidying up work while i wait is a total delight.

What a fantastic experience! If I could give your place more than 5 stars I would. Its become one of my favourite places on Johannesburg. This is a great place to see and old friend or have a romantic date. The staff make the place. Friendly, warm, welcoming, attentive, professional, but in a non intrusive, warm and gentle manner.

Best places for a lazy Sunday lunch. Overlooks a small piazza and other restaurants. No e for the food - -I just cant resist their crisp, fresh bread rolls, no matter how hard I try. Prawns were great, fresh and well prepared, chicken was crispy outside and very moist inside, hubbys favourite. Chips were hot, fresh and so yum! Service also great, attentive without being intrusive.

Not suitable for red meat lovers considering the grill is not cleaned to industry standards and meat appears to originate from German gas chambers. Basting brush bristles does not go well with the dish either. Suggest remove it from the menu. Setting and seating @ good standard. SEAFOOD dishes acceptable.Staff are friendly on entry and exceptionally friendly upon leaving. Waiter preferred to sign by using thumbs up instead of verbalising. Had to be corrected on order specifics. Poor service overall for a not so busy Thursday eve.

Fishmongers have been around for a long time. As good as i remember them to be. A little pricey to make it a regular place to visit.

They serve frozen oysters, not fresh... They trick u by trying to serve you a fish you dont order and over cook it in the process... Sushi is a big miss. Well over priced... Ocean basket is better

Delicious fish, fresh and crispy bread, attentive staff, but perhaps the glassware and cutlery need some attention. By far a better choice than the nearby Ocean Basket! Take note: the Firs is under renovation at the moment (Oct2018), so the open and vibrant atmosphere of the courtyard onto which the restaurant opens is disappointingly closed off from view.

Well located in a courtyard amongst other restaurants. It has a nice ambience that is very open (not ideal on rainy days). The food is well presented and tasty but I personally find it quite expensive and would probably go to the Ocean basket a 100m further down towards the mall. My calamari was a little chewy. All in all it is a nice place and is certainly one of Joburgs better seafood places.

Good fish which is rare....the calamari is on point and their seafood platter is one of the taste best in jhb currently decent portions flavors are over compromised and bearing. A bit pricey but you appreciate it with the end result. Wine choice is also decent to pair
