Amazing Indian cuisine, we loved it!

Delicious food and a wonderful experience. Especially during these times..all precautions and safety protocols were followed. The food was awesome...👍🏼👍🏼🥂Thank you PK for an excellent experience 👏🏼

I ordered a meal for take away. Chicken Tikka Masala. Cost R128.00The Chicken was dry and stiff, not fresh...and no fresh ingredients was used in making sauce.It was a paste. Left an uncomfortable after taste.Really disappointing for an upmarket location and ambiance.

The reason I am giving 2 stars is purely because their ambience was 5 star. 1 star for the food and price. It is one of those places where you can for a romantic dinner, spend some time and enjoy the ambience. The food caters to the locals taste of Indian Cuisine, rather than being authentic Indian. Everything will be a bit milder and sweeter compared to a real authentic Indian taste. Also, Raj as usual is among the costlier Indian restaurants in Joburg. And inspite of the extra cost, they dont serve complimentary rice with curries, which is customary and every other Indian restaurant does. However the staff was friendly.

Think this place is pretty and smart with good service in that you dont wait too long to place your order and recieve the meal. Has nice appeal to it, indian food is tasty and hits the spot especially when you have that indian food craving.

Just walking into the RAJ there was the smell of good Indian cuisine everywhere.From the waiter to the authentic Indian cuisine, it was an amazing experience.Definitely going back there soon.

Leans towards authentic Indian cuisine (as opposed to South African Indian). Food is decent but there are other restaurants in Joburg that make the chicken Tikka masala much better. Very pricey .. a vegetarian meal priced just R10 less than a chicken meal... doesn’t really make sense. Also for the high prices , naan or rice isn’t included (I’m not sure if this has changed because i ordered previously from Uber eats and rice was included ) . The service is in the average-to-good range, and the ambience in the restaurant is pleasant especially for a romantic night out. no reservation was needed on weekdays ... we were the only ones at the restaurant on a Tuesday evening .

Possibly the worst chicken korma I ever had!Ordered a hot korma, absolutely tasteless, no spice at all. If I need to describe the taste... chicken cubes, in thickened chicken broth... looks liks soup as a sauce😡wish i could post a photo...

I used to enjoy the food but recently the quality has definitely dropped. I had the lamb biryani. It was dry and bland and had barely any meat. I expected so much more given the high prices.

Ordered a Fish curry through Uber eats. This was the worst curry I have ever had. The fish was dry(like it was cooked last week) and the curry sauce was very bland. Even the naan bread left a lot to be desired. Very disappointed, the dish was over priced and terribly made. I will not order or dine in there again. There is way better indian cuisine available from more reasonably priced restaurants.

Poor service and unaccomadating staff. Disappointing experience all round.Meals are over priced.

The Raj was a favorite of mine. Sadly the thai cook is no more and i think the food quality has gone down. I hope they pick up again.

The Lamb curry we had was full of flavour and deliciously rich. It was amazing food we had. A bit expensive but worth it. We were served by a very friendly gentleman by the name Frank. He was very tentive and took good care of us.

Lovely, eastern deco. Very calming atmosphere. Good was good. Not to spicy.

Excellent food, with Raj always delivering on quality. Lovely ambience too. The one negative is that pricing has really increased steeply over the last while. Also find it strange that vegetarian curries are priced the same as chicken.

Love this place. Great menu of Indian and Thai dishes. Portions might look small when your order arrives but dont be fooled, you wont walk away hungry. Some of the best service we have received but maybe thats just because we go there so often!

Food was very average, nothing to rave about. God location and good decor, however too pricey. Staff was also not the most welcoming.

Great food & for us love the option to have both Indian & Thai cuisine under one roof. Definitely a repeat

The food quality is not worth the very steep prices.

Very bad service . I arrange a small birthday party in this restaurant and after asking tap water they are serving water in a glass bottle. And in final bill they are charging R478 for 8 bottles. And food is also very bad no Indian flavour If you ask for hot they put simply red chilli in the ordered item.

Expensive, poor quality food.Have had 3 bad delivery experiences due to delays on their part. Not worth the money or frustration.

Good Indian cuisine at relatively affordable prices. We got some good discounts with the Entertainer app.

Slightly more pricey than average, but both Thai and Indian dishes are very tasty. The restaurant setting is very nice.

Worst food & Service, no Indian flavor in food , prices are highly inflated. Tab water serving with R58, I will suggest dont visit if you want Taste Indian flavor

We have been fans of Raj restaurants since the first one at Crowthorne. Tonight I ordered via Mr D a HOT Chicken Tikka Masala. What arrived was a underdone mild (hardly had a curry flavor) chicken. Fist time Im disappointed in a Raj meal. Could not eat it.

Prices have become ridiulously high. Service time is way too long and quality of food has definitely dropped.There are far better indian food options in the Midrand area.

I called in and ordered a quarter tandoori chicken and chips which is R54.80 at the Raj express however, I was charged R168.80 at the Raj Waterfall (Jhb) I noticed other extras we bought (naan) had a small difference of R20 or so but I am SHOCKED at the 3x price increase. The store manager was terribly unhelpful. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND CLEARLY A RIP OFF.
