The most friendly staff I have ever met! 🙏🏼We brought our puppy with and the staff were awesome with him. One of the gentleman even took him and his leash and walked him around a bit and played with him! The food was unbelievable - I had a salad and my boyfriend had the steak. The local kitchen has been my neighborhood favourite for a while now. They serve amazing breakfasts and I recently started to visit for lunches and dinners which have proven to be equally as amazing. Heads up they have the most amazing chicken wings!!! I would rate them top 3 in South Africa. Its the kind of spot that is intimate but well known by the community, therefore its often fully booked from Thursday evenings sometimes even from Wednesdays.

Went for dinner with a bunch of friends, great setting with inside and outside section. Food was great can’t complain. Their sandwiches are also delicious.

There is good service, excellent service and then The Local Kitchen service. The food is quality is a bonus. Even at full capacity, the restaurant still feels quaint and personal.5 star benedict for breakfast5 star burgers for lunch

I have been ordering from Local Kitchen for years, semi-frequently. I can honestly say that I have never ever gotten poor quality food or service from these guys. The food is always amazing, especially their burgers. Their pizzas are also lovely, done with a proper wood oven. Ive also had their party platters, which have also been great on multiple occasions, without any disappointments. I will definitely keep supporting them and would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

We have a three year old and Prince ( makes fhe pizza’s) have her a small piece of dough to roll out and make her own pizza. Godfrey was super friendly and a amazingly efficient. The Arancini starter, Jalapeño poppers are a must try. The Asian salad was an absolute treat( very tasty). I would definitely recommend this place to everyone. We will be back.

We are eating the local kitchen since it was opened. We love it. The food is nice and always friendly prepared. The waiters are polite. Nice to pop up for a quick bite for a breakfast or lunch. 👍

The menu is a varied selection of burgers, pizzas, sandwiches, street food and wraps. Something for everybody. A great casual place to go to for comfort food. We had a burger and wrap both of which where very tasty. The Local Kitchen was reasonably bust during the Sunday lunch time we ate. The staff is very efficient and the service was quick. This place has lots of parking available.

Stopped here for a spontaneous Sunday lunch after car show - Delicious, well presented food (highly recommend the pot pies 🐓, 🐂 or 🌱), friendly manager & great service. Reasonably priced. Lovely warm, welcoming atmosphere - Ill definitely return to eat here again ☺

Great ambiance, with friendly and helpful staff. My colleagues steak was sent back, but a new once promptly delivered. My rump was delicious, and the house Merlot was a treat. Chocolate brownie was okay, couldve been a little more moist.

We came to The Local Kitchen for a Sunday breakfast and we were not disappointed. Warm and lively place, super friendly and accommodating staff and simply amazing breakfast. I had the Al Nino which I would highly recommend if your like something different and a bit on the spicy side (not too hot thought). Menu breakfast selection is wide with all the standard traditional stuff and then a whole lot of new stuff you would not see everyday. And yes coffee is great, roast was a touch on the darker side but nothing a hint of milk cant fix :) Overall a great place and will definitely be back.

Yummy and comfy is just some of the words that come to mind when thinking of The Local Kitchen Co in Bryanston.Most of the menu contains café type dishes, pizzas and burgers. We decided to order two dishes off of the Chef’s Specials menu that mainly include food that is not available on the regular menu. To start the evening off we thought we would try the Saldhana starter which is fresh mussels in a light cream, wine and garlic sauce. The sauce was very salty on its own but together with everything wasn’t too bad. We couldn’t resist ordering a Fillet steak with Creamy Wild Mushroom sauce next, which was so juicy and tender, the only problem was that they didnt rest the steak properly so after a few moments blood was bleeding out of the steak, was still delish by the way. Now this place is famous for their burgers, their many many burgers. We grabbed The Bacon Cheese and let us tell you, this burger was probably created by the gods themselves. As a side, we got ourselves some beer battered onion rings, which were golden and crispy, but barely tasted like anything. Seems like the seasoning is kind of all over the place.Our waiter was very well informed and knew the Chef’s menu off by heart. He also gave a few of his own suggestions which we really appreciated. The odd thing was that our waiter seemed to forget about us right after he gave us our doggy bag, he was attentive all night, but right after our main meals he never came back to us. Quite disappointing.We really enjoyed the atmosphere inside as it had a casual craftiness to it, and the chairs definitely gave them brownie points, as it must have been the most comfortable chairs we have ever sat on in a restaurant, none of that wooden church seats, but a soft wild leather chair made by a warrior for a king. Also, they had unique decor in the form of cutlery lampshades which is only a plus to the atmosphere. On top of all of this, they also had good music playing in the background all night long.All in all, everything was reasonably priced. The items on the Chef’s Specials menu was a bit more expensive than the regular menu but nothing too extreme. What a lovely experience! The staff are so friendly and have such a positive vibe. Nox (our waiter) and Sean (the manager) have 10/10 hosting skills 👌🏻I had the chicken pops which were so crunchy on the outside and super tender on the inside (still as delicious eaten as leftovers).My boyfriend had the rump steak wrap (which isn’t on the menu but they made a plan for us) and he devoured it in a matter of minutes.We will definitely be back soon!

I am really glad they have survived all this time, even with the surrounding restaurants.To be honest they are like a hiddem gem, very simple, low key, and underrated. My friend has been a firm fans of theirs for years, and she always told me about the Bokkie Pizza, with Biltong and Feta. I had the Hot Chick one, years back and I see they are still firm favourites on the menu.My friend has a new favourite menu item, so as a result we decided to stick with old faithful and have a ladies catchup here for dinner.Decent selection on the menu, with some funky additions, limited Cocktail menu, but not too bad.So let’s get down to it, we had the Sticky BBQ Wings with Fries, Salt and Pepper Calamari, BBQ Pork Loin Ribs, Posh Fish and Chips (Kingklip with Mushy Peas) and Rump and fries.Delicious, comfort food at its best. Proper FOOD. I think our only gripe was my friends steak was meant to be medium well and it came rather medium i.e. it was kinda winking at me. But the Wings were hitting the spot. The Calamari was cooked well and spiced right. My other pal enjoyed her Fish and Mushy peas, and the sauces were the perfect accompaniment to their FRIES.Service was great, we had a rather chilled evening, (yes it was storming) and the restaurant wasn’t overcrowded and we could hear ourselves speak. What a fantastic restaurant in the centre of Bryanston! Really nice industrial type decor and a very relaxing atmosphere.The Dragon Pork was delicious and the slow cooked short rib was out of this world. The churro basket for desert was also good. The churro basket was light and crispy and not fatty.The service was also very good.

Now open for dinner! We are obsessed with the Valentino Rosti! Best brekkie in Bryanston. Homely & welcoming atmosphere with comfy soul food. Great for catering platters & pet friendly

One of the best burgers I have ever had was a new addition to the menu. Generally enjoyed great food here but this burger took it a step up again. The expanded seating area is also inviting.

The staff are a reflection of their Manager, very friendly with an awesome sense of humour, only had a cuppa Joe, will definitely return and try out their meals.

One of my absolute favorite restaurants in South Africa. Pier knows what he is doing and his staff is excellent - friendly, attentive, fun. Try the spicy wings, pulled pork sarmie, or beef short rib sarmie. So so so so good.

The quality of their food is great. I have noticed that the menu has been reduced, understandably, but please put the pies back on :) I was there on Sunday and must say I am disappoint that the chips have gone from delicious hand cut ones to frozen chips. But would definitely recommend it :)

Terrible!!! Was very excited to try the Local Kitchen, but when finally we got seated, no waiter even asked what beverages we wanted to order. We waited for more than 15 minutes, and still no waiter helped us. They werent even busy!! We eventually got up and left! After the manager ran after us to apologise, but it was too late. Very disappointed 😔

Food was perfect. Staff is great especially Godfrey.My only problem was that I couldnt enjoy my experience to the max due to the fact that I could hear the chef shouting at his team in the back.

Been there twice. The chef who is also the owner is so passionate about his creation that every meal comes out as if it was specially cooked for you. From burgers to the Portuguese styled chicken and every other dish that we tried, we were surprised with new tastes and flavours. The ambiance is also lovely and super friendly. It has been a good long while since Ive been to a restaurant whos menu was not generic and common. This place is amazing and the food is worth the money spent. Great staff, and very open minded to new ideas suggest by its patrons. They also have a great mystery night where the chefs create random wonders.

Good food, good service, my parents and I are vegetarians so we ask the chef to make us a special breakfast meal of haulumi, mushrooms, spinach, fryed onions, tomatoes, avocados and toasted bread. 👌

Yesterday, we were headed towards Bryanston for some odd jobs and I zeroed in on The Local Kitchen Co for a late breakfast.I ordered the Banting breakfast which had avocado, poached eggs, grilled halloumi, sausage, rocket leaves and a bit of Parmesan on a bed of spicy roast pepper and chilli relish.He ordered his favourite eggs Benedict - no muffins here, the choice was rye bread or ciabatta - but he said the sauce was spot on.The eggs were perfectly poached.The jalapeño poppers ended up being inedible though because the jalapeños had been pickled too long. It was just too sour to consume (and I’m someone who loves mouth puckering sour stuff)Coffees were good (Latte & Cappucino) and to end we shared one slice of pecan pie (not too sweet and absolutely perfect)Lots of open space with outdoor seating, dog friendly.Very good service. Only dropped a star for the inedible jalapeno poppers.

I have been to local kitchen three times now and all three times I enjoyed the food and service. I have even brought my wife here and she also enjoyed it very much. I would rate Local kitchen to have the best chicken wings, hands down.

Love this place. Food is always delicious, eating in or take away, they keep their quality to the highest standards. Pricing is not ridiculous and the portions are generous. Service is also absolutely fantastic!

They have redone the menu here recently and I am starting to enjoy this place more and more. What used to be a take away lunch venue has turned into a great spot for a meal and a drink with friends.I choose a sit down meal here with my friends for a catch up where the vibe is reasonably quiet but the waiters are extremely friendly.Highly recommended.

Unforgettable service. Incredibly friendly and attentive.Choice of starters for dinner was minimal and we unfortunately were not in the mood for any of the offerings, so we went straight to mains: a 350g rib-eye served with creamy truffle-mushroom sauce and fondant potatoes, and a 350g fillet served with creamed peppercorn sauce and baked potato. We also shared the roasted butternut and creamed spinach, which was worth every cent. Both steaks (one medium and the other medium-rare) were cooked to perfection, and topped with herbed butter. Definitely two of the finest steaks we have had in quite some time. They know what they are doing here and are clearly eager to please.For dessert, we both had the deconstructed Lemon Meringue Tart. It was rather basic, and I probably would have scored this experience 5 stars, had it not been for the dessert. The portion was very small for the price and, deconstructed, made it incredibly basic - a small piece of condensed milk-lemon juice tart, topped with a tiny meringue and a scattering of rather dry biscuit dust, which was supposed to be coconut-based, but was not. It was okay, but Ive had far, far better.We ended off with cappuccinos that were perfectly made. We will definitely be back, but will likely avoid the desserts next time, as we also saw a table sharing three small quenelles of ice-cream for quite a price too.Great local restaurant, fantastic steaks, fantastic service. We will be back for sure.

Been a long time since I have been to such a great restaurant. The menu is diverse and unique and, so far, each dish was produced flawlessly. Delicious food, gorgeous decor, friendly staff and we were all served our food within 15 mins of ordering. Highest recommendation. I would recommend the pizza or alternatively the burgers. They are reasonably priced.

When we first sat down, we noted how beautiful the decor was and how cozy the environment felt. The staff were very very friendly, and our food arrived in less than 15 minutes.This was probably the best breakfast Ive ever eaten in my life. I had the Birds Nest, which was a poached egg covered with hollandaise sauce on a bed of mushrooms and toast, with bacon and rosa tomatoes on the side.It was spectacular, the taste wasnt overwhelming and it had just the right balance of salty and sweet. The food was also presented in such a beautiful way, it felt like a crime to eat it.The prices are reasonable and it was well worth the price, for the quality of food.The coffee was divine, and even though Im not a big fan of coffee, this place may just have converted me.I feel like I may begin coming here quite often. I wish I could give six stars.

Nice little restaurant thats a bit hidden away although it seems to have many visitors. We came here for a beer and ended up staying the whole evening and had some dinner. The food is really good and great value for money. The choice of beer is very limited and would love to see some more craft options.The restaurant seems to have a take away side to it where quite a few people ordered their dinner to go. They have a different lunch menu which seems to have some good options.Only conplaint is that it was a bit dirty when we got there. All the tables and chairs had liquids or crumbs on them. Other than that I would be happy to go there again.

Great little (almost) hidden spot, especially for breakfast. Service has always been good on every visit thus far. The quaint decor, especially in the side section, offers a great ambience with the brickwork. Food has always been prepared exactly as ordered. Make sure you ask to try their homemade hot sauce (iyababa), if you enjoy some heat.

Very good restaurant. The wife had prawns national, I had the BBQ ribs and my daughter had Dragon pork. All were excellent, although the dragon pork was particularly outstanding. Prices seemed reasonable although as a foreigner the exchange rate means that almost all restaurants are more than reasonable!

Nice Vibe. Food Was good too, I had the Veggie Burger, was quite tasty however it broke apart while i was eating it. Had the Pecan Pie for Dessert was a bit too sweet, was tasty though
