Made for foodies and travellers alike. Going to China town on Derrick is a cultural experience. Shun de offers excellent Chinese food. We love the fried pork dim sum, dumplings and friend calamari. Apparently not currently open on Thursdays.

Great south Chinese cuisine, the pepper beef dish I ate was was amazing and so too the chicken amd corn soup. The shop itself is quite big, suitable for large or small groups as well as couples. Most of the staff dont speak English fluently but their service is good nonetheless. Waiting time isnt that long which really impressed me. Food has good flavor and is prepared in typical Chinese fashion. Id recommend it if youre looking to get a feel for Chinese cuisine.

Only decent place for Yum Cha.

Go on a Sunday for brunch. Very wide selection of steamed, fried and grilled dim sum that the local Chinese community seems to appreciate as much as westerners. Service is swift and polite.

The best Hong Kong style dim sum in South Africa and Johannesburg, their weekend offerings are amazing and really excellent quality and value, a must try experience, go early, around 1130 AM are best, they bring freshly steams basket regularly#MiguelChan

Great Sunday brunch destination, lots of different dim sum options. Pay per plate, dont come before 11am and save space for the sweet dessert buns.

Quite possibly the best dim sum spot in Joburg , well if you want something authentic and not include spinach and feta.The morning tea / brunch / yum cha sessions are really good and comes highly recommended from me at least.If you never tried any authentic dim sum , this is a must try otherwise if you just need a fix of prawn dumplings , I guess you can visit the closest dim sum restaurant (excl those western places of course)

After my favourite Chinese restaurant closed, I have been looking for a replacement with very little joy. Shun De is definitely becoming that place. You will not go wrong.

Probably one of the most authentic Dim Sum (Yum Cha) places in South Africa. Decent variety and generally tastes consistently good. If you want to come on a Sunday be sure to come early otherwise it will be difficult to get a table.

The dishes is really same as home. The chef is from shun de, the city in Guangzhou region..It is worth to come.i will recommend to anyone who like original Chinese food.The dishes I like is Chinese style fried chicken, tofu with BBQ pork and clear booth with vegetable.They also surprise me in desert, they have double egg milk desert. It is really original Chinese desert which no restaurant serve this even in Hong Kong.I dont have chance to taste their dim sum but from what I see their kitchen set up, it is proper set up to cook dim sum.This is traditional family restaurant, not fine dinning type but good food like at home.

Real Chinese food. It does help to go with Chinese people if you dont know what to order, but even if you dont, whatever you eat there is absolutely out of this world. A real experience. Go there with an appetite, because you can eat for hours !

The most authentic Chinese food experience this side of town, try thier pork buns and chicken feet. Not feeling adventurous have thier Singapore noodles 😛 its addictive youll keep going back for more

Delicious dimsum and friendly service. Weve tried many dimsum places, and whilst the offering here is somewhat narrow, the quality is excellent. The restaurant is on the first floor and has a larger indoor area, and a sort of small covered outdoor terrace. Its located in quite a funky classical Chinese architecture styled building.

What a lovely restaurant, the service was excellent, the food was so good, we had different types of dumplings and deserts, all I can say WOW.
