Wow... I just love this place

I do love sunsquare , I have been there two weeks ago

The perfect little overnight haven: stylishly appointed, and roomy, yet cosy. I had the best sleep Ive had in a long time, which was complemented with the best, most generous breakfast buffet. My only regret is that I filled up on the delicious continental breakfast before sampling their cooked offering. Definitely a great excuse to go back soon!

Great hotel, great service ever in Joburg. Its a place to be.

If youre looking for place to have a special time. Be it with your partner, loved ones, friends and family, or even for business. Monte asino is the place to go. It is alive and has a great atmosphere. Create everlasting memories with views for amazing pictures.

Wow! Fantastic Service. I was surprised by how attentive the staff were. When we needed to check out early we received breakfast goody bags, enough to last us all the way on the five hour drive home.

Neat and tidy, compact rooms. Good looking though. Bar and restaurant is good although more attention to guests sitting on the couches is needed but you cant go wrong here.

Awesome place. Strategically located and the level of security is just on point You wont need to get out the complex for anything. Breakfast was yummy. Largely had some great staff. Just didnt like the attitude of one of the personnels at the front desk. I still enjoyed my stay anyways.

An ideal place to reside at. Excellent entertainment and restaurants. Absolute safe environment. A one stop holiday resort. I love this place.

I absolutely love it here. The rooms are always clean and tidy and the service is top notch.The breakfast has a nice variety and the food is absolutely delicious!Smoking rooms are available on request.I think it’d be perfect if they had a swimming pool but either than that I can’t really fault it.I do wish however that they do not do deals with Aarya restaurant. We booked two date night packages and each night we went to the restaurant we came back shocked by the poor quality of food there.

Sun square is a very beautiful place to visit. It is located in the heart of montecasino. A very beautiful view, nice scenery. Good places around to wine and dine. Very picturesque place. You just Marvel how the place was arranged, very beautiful. It is a popular place for tourists. I tremendously enjoyed my visit to that place. I dont mind coming back over and over again.

The food was okay and the service was fine. However, the room was located in the same space as the lifts for the floor. So, in essence, I was opening my door onto a thoroughfare used by the entire floor. I recommend you check in advance that you have not been placed in one of these lift waiting area rooms. The television was also dodgy.

Great atmosphere. They aim to please in service. Breakfast and supper was lovely. No porter service. The nice thing is that the hotel is linked to the rest of the Montecasino entertainment center which means no need to get into your car for the rest of your stay.

SunSquare is an amazing hotel. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The food is good and not too expensive. Rooms are very comfortable and cleaned daily. The Montecasino area comes alive at night, with so many activities to do and many places to visit.

An upmarket location ideal for business lunches as well as leisure.The service is attentive and professional with great food and beverages.The restaurant team are very accommodating.As with an upmarket location expect to pay more than average prices, however, the overall experience is well worth cost.

Situated is a very busy area of the metro. Offers lots of entertainment. If you seek fun and enjoyment and have deep pockets then you will enjoy your stay.

The show we watched was amazing, food and drinks could not have been better. Beautiful place with lots to do and to see.I would recommend Montecasino to anyone who wants to enjoy a great weekend.

Based on what you pay the main value gained from staying at the Sun Square Hotel is the convenience whne having a late night at Monte. The rooms are very basic and so is the breakfast buffet on offer. There is also minimum parking available.

Love the decor. Staff well schooled in hospitality. So far enjoying my short stay. The ambience is equally welcoming. Surrounded by series of restaurants and other hotels at walking distance. If you are like me wanting variety...

Very nice hotel situated at Montecasino. From the back entrance of the hotel to the entrance at Montecasino is a two minute walk. The hotel was a great stay. The staff was friendly, the room was small but very well equipped - everything you need in a room was there. The breakfast spread was very tasty, and I stuffed myself on their delicious croissants. I will definitely stay there again, it is a great choice if you are visiting Johannesburg as it is centrally situated, safe with a good price.

Really enjoyed our time here. Had no issues at all. The restaurant is amazing too. Would definitely recommend this to all. The date night special is the deal all couples should take to enjoy some time out. The staff all round were amazing😆 thanks guys!

Room was clean. The mattress seemed a bit worn with a spring poking me with every turn. Good block-out curtains. Breakfast included is great. Generally a peaceful experience.

The 3-star rating of this hotel is definitely accurate. The rates are low but dont expect 4 star treatment. If you want more, go to a fancier place. We had a pleasant stay and its ease of access right onto the Monte Casino piazza is excellent. You can stroll around or have drink till late and walk right back into the hotel. So from a convenience perspective it is excellent.

It was very hot in the room and the only blanket was a thick feather duvet. When I was under it, it was too hot. When I was not I was too cold. The receptionist was not very friendly, and the food I ordered from room service was very expensive, and VERY bland.

Great location, rooms a little small for two but perfect for an overnight. Staff very good.

It was jusr what we wanted for our theatre and dinner night out. Easy and short distances to our destinations Our room was immaculate and very modern. Hotel staff pleasant and efficient.

Pros:It is a nice hotel surrounded by the restaurant of monte casino.All the food you can eat outside. However the room inside is pretty simple but does the job. There is not a big selection on room service.The rooms are small but perfect for business travellers and couples.The breakfast is not that great but again does the job.

The rooms are too small. Bathroom basin is literally open planned in the room. Expected better considering the rate.

Overall very nice and comfortable hotel. Removed a star because the bed was slightly uncomfortable compared to my own. Otherwise felt very comfortable and modern. Being so close to the casino further adds to the convenience of entertainment, food etc

Great idea for the kids. The afternoon was great. And it was not ridiculously expensive. R50 a child for the whole day. There were a number of inflatable play areas. The high light of the day was the water fountains in the middle of the park. It had the kids entertained for ages. Food and drinks in the park was a bit more expensive than the rest of Montecasino so if you did not mind a little walk back inside you could save yourself some money. A great way so spend Easter Monday.

Every time I stay at Sunsquare Monte casino I never want to leave. So comfortable, great food and an AWESOME breakfast spread in the mornings. Wish I could live there.

Escape from the hustle and bustle of Joburg into Europe! The buildings, decor, restaurants shops allows you to experience a touch of Europe but at our local currency. For parents looking for some quiet time, go to the piazza and allow your kids to play amongst the water jets in the centre of piazza, while you enjoy a scrumptious meal or delicious drink in one of the encircling restaurants.

Last minute decision to go out for a group meal. We decided to go to master chef restaurant and they were able to accommodate all eleven of us without pre booking and they also managed to sit us all together.Lovely meal , ten of us had steak and one had the catch of the day. Steaks were cooked to perfection, the service was seamless from their extremely friendly and efficient staff. It also had a very clean , open kitchen were you could see your food being prepared.An all round enjoyable evening in this lively, contemporary part of Monte.

When I visits Johannesburg, i always stays at Sun Sqaure Monte Casino. Friendly staff, management, room service,laundry services. This the place to stay. Breakfast superb. Cookies preparing food is friendly. Keep up that friendliness. Leroy Nolan

Occassionally we come here for arcade games, bowling or theater outings. Our favourite restaurant is Bera Alta, they have the most divine prawns and grilled chicken but there are a variety of eateries to choose from, and for people who enjoy Casinos its well maintained and very reminiscent of old Italy

Had an outstanding stay; my husband; who suffers from insomnia; actually slept for 7 hours straight!! The rooms are comfortable; clean and well ventilated. The breakfast in the morning; (which is included in room price); can compete with any 5 star restaurant. I would definitely recommend this experience!

One of the beautiful, decent and friendly hotel in Montecasino around Fourways. I fell in love with the Architecture around there, it is just beautiful to me. Friendly staff and totally friendly environment. Didnt lodge here, but in their groups hotel tough most of the times for meetings.If I come back here, would love to explore further.

Great and friendly service from all staff during check-in, meals and everything in between. The breakfast buffet is definitely worth paying a bit extra for. Found the location to be very central with tons of restaurants and shops very close by.Rooms are equipped with everything youd expect from a 3 star hotel. I found the standard rooms to be a bit cramped but neat, tidy and clean all round. Experienced some issues with a severely clogged shower and lights that were either flickering or not working at all. These are pretty basic things that youd expect to work at the price per night.Despite the above mentioned issues, Id definitely recommend SunqSuare Montecasino for a short overnight stay or a weekend.

Location is great to go out. Loads of restaurants in monte casino complex which it attached to the hotel property. Check in staff was a bit offish, however, the rest were very pleasant and helpful. Overall every area including the rooms were spotlessly clean. The rooms however are tiny. I was alone so its adequate but two people sharing will be falling over each other and luggage etc. Bathroom is part of the room not separate - not good. Luggage storage shelf too small to fit a standard size hard shell suitcase. Loads of support channels on TV and few movies. Not much else.

Part of the Montecasino complex - quite vast with around 4 hotels. Plenty of places to eat good food at reasonable prices, with lots of variety. Can walk around in a nice environment, plenty of security and friendly staff. Has a casino and bird park too is worth a visit

Good solid hotel with friendly staff, clean rooms and a fairly modern design.Complimentary internet is capped at 500MB per day and provided through a third party service, which is a frustration to use.Montecasino is on your doorstep with too many restaurants to mention.

When staying over for shows at the Theatro we would normally stay at the 4 star Southern Sun Monte Casino. We decided to try the Sun Square and were very pleased with the experience. Rooms and amenities were naturally not as per the much more expensive Southern Sun. However, the staff were excellent the room was lovely and the hotel restaurant was first class.

The staff are incredibly helpful and welcoming . The restaurant manager engaged with us while relaxing . And the barman ensured we were comfortable and taken care of . The service from room service and house keeping were beyond satisfactory . They assisted us and met our expectations. The price is so reasonable for an amazing stay . Will definitely be returning .

This is a great, but still affordable, hotel. There are many restaurants and things to do inside the entertainment area. I always stay here when I travel.

Great efficient service. Rooms are cosy, clean, and comfy. Easy access to food courts and theatre. Restaurant food was not good.

Ideally suited, with the Montecasino compound thus a very short walking distance to all the myriads of restaurants around.Nonetheless for the price and size of the rooms, I would recommend the City Lodge which is about 600 M away. The only problem with the later is that youll have to take a very short drive to Montecasino.

Wonderful first stay, theatre is easily accessible from this hotel, literally the other side of the square. Helpful staff, breakfast was a bit slow on the coffee front, otherwise good. Ill recommend this hotel.

Hotel located in the Monte Casino precinct in the Northern part of Johannesburg. Ideal for business travelers or quick visits to #johannesburg #sandton. I must admit that I am not aware of play areas for children as part of the hotel, other than the additional facilities offered by the Monte Casino precinct. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is served at the hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful as well.

Nice outdoor area, lots of restaurants to choose from. I feel that it is spoilt by a huge TV screen flashing advertising in peoples faces. It should rather be off unless theres a specific sporting event etc

Very clean room. A 4.5 star hotel. Still a minor improvement needed in area of service and house keeping.Will consider coming again, or try our Southern Sun.Beware of credit card fraud when dining with Montecasino restaurants.

While the location is a germ, the rooms are basic....dry....functional. You will sleep well, but there is nothing to write about.
