Great place for a meeting in the new coffee shop.Amazing vibe with a roof top bar and jazz club underground.The bespoke hotel I just to die for!

I only visited the bar. The view at the rooftop bar is incredible. The staff were super friendly and made the whole experience fun. Even the manager came around a few times to check up on us. It can get a little pricy if you order cocktails but normal beers, ciders and whiskey etc. is as expensive as buying a drink at any other bar or restaurant.Highly recommend a visit for locals or international visitors. The view made us feel like we were on the top of the world.

Cant wait to experience this place when its running again. Covid had such a negative impact on these beautiful venues. Breathtaking views!

We were at the Rooftop bar as guests. Its open to the public but has a small entry fee with really affordable liquor.The Rooftop bar is an awesome party place with lots of cool vibrant young people ! Listen to your mamas advice and remember to bring a jacket.So lets drink a toast to our city with an ice cold Black Label.Secure parking a big plus.I want to encourage everyone to come and experience the excellent upmarket service and stunning views of our beautiful city. Great venue to hang out at. The sunset is probably the highlight of this rooftop as it treats you to an amazing view. I was just a little underwealmed with their ribs on this day. They were a bit over cooked and the coriander doesnt work well with the ribs. The wedges are HUMAN SIZED 🙆🏽‍♂️ I rate you 4 stars because I enjoyed the vibe. The ribs and wedges put me off but the Djs made up for that.

From the second we arrived and greeted with a smile and welcomed by all their friendly and professional staff. Everything was perfect and exactly as the pictures show. Clean and neat with great features and attention to detail. We had a awesome dinner at the restaurant and the best cocktails at the rooftop bar. will definitely visit again.

A wonderful place. The doorman is so friendly and he always runs to open that door. The staff is just as friendly and welcoming. There is a bar and restaurant downstairs and their service is great, Im yet to try the food but I doubt it would be disappointing. The view of the city is my favourite part, I love seeing the vibrant Johannesburg city. There is fast food close by and there is a gym on the roof. The gym and spa are available.

I simply love Hallmark House, and I cant wait for the renovations to be done. The building next door is a mood and view killer though.

Had so many great meals at the restaurant. Good coffee and the chef is always willing to make substitutions to suite my taste. My colleague stays in the building and his view is amazing. I especially enjoy the breakfast menu and the salads.

Discriminative lease offering, this place is not for black people. you call to ask if a listing is available for rental, all they tell you is no and by the end of the day the listing will still be live on a property site for weeks on different sites and on their own site again.

The building is nice, although the neighborhood doesnt quite feel safe to walk around. Some of the issues we had here:1) The hotel website advertised a free shuttle service to a walkable area about 1km away. When we asked about it, we were told the shuttle was no longer complimentary, despite the fact that its advertised as such on the website and in the information booklet in the room.2) The hotel website advertises a gym and dinner service. When we asked about both, we were told the gym was under construction and dinner service had been discontinued.3) ‎Theres a nightclub across the street, and we could feel the bass and hear the music in our room. After a few inquiries to the front desk, the manager requested the music be turned down, which helped, but if youre sensitive to noise this may not be the place for you.4) ‎Finally, while they advertise a generator on-site, the city power went out while we were there. However, the generator only powers critical building functions, which does not include water in the room (i.e., showering) or electricity in the rooms or halls. Even the maids were using their cell phone flashlights to navigate the hallways.When I complained to the manager about all of the above and said I felt as though we may be better served elsewhere, she told me to go ahead and recommended some other hotels, rather than ask what she could do to make things right. Although it seems she did initiate a change to the website to indicate that the shuttle is no longer gratis.On the plus side: the building is nice, they gave us a late check-out time, and were proactive about the noise issue.

Its a really nice place to stay ! The hotel looks like a museum. The receptionists from the front desk are really friendly and always available, they give useful advices for the different tours around Johannesburg. By the way, the house cleaning team and the security team were always nice to us. And we ate at the hotel restaurant, there are a lot of choices with meals from south Africa. At least, the room was really confortable.When I checked in, I had a little note from the manager, that surprised me ! Thank you for everything

Great place, theres a bar on the roof top and the hotel, coffee shop, bar and restaurant. A Jazz bar at the basement. All in all I think this is the best place.

The Hallmark house is more than just a hotel. It’s wellness for all your senses. Great African interior design with South African shweshwe patterns on the wall and viby blues and jazz music all around - especially if you go to the underground part of the hotel : a 1920s Jazz bar ! The Marabi! Great music, great design and very friendly staff.

Exceptional service! I was sick the one night I stayed there and a woman from the front desk walked me to the local grocery store to ensure I could find it and for safety. Lack of 5th star is only because of crime/safety and inability to move freely to/from the hotel. Otherwise, enjoyed my stay here. Staff clearly go above and beyond!

The hotel is quite unique... It needs some work on it ls facilities and I wasnt a big fan of the surrounding buildings. Some rooms balconies face a building that is delapidated and isnt a nice sight. Overall once you inside its very nice

Can improve in assisting guest,(i had to pull 2 suitcases in the company of one of the staff leading is to our room).But besides this incident we had a good stay.

The best! When walking in, it feels like a home away from home! Super friendly and fast service.When returing to hotel, you have a clean and nice smelling room, mini bar stocked up and new bedding. I will never sleep at any other place in JHB again! Thank you so much!

We had drinks on the rooftop deck. Wonderful views over Doornfontein / Berea. Just make sure to take lots of money - this place is not cheap.

Very trendy hotel with great venue options. It has a great rooftop spot for drinks and sundowners. I booked here for two nights and I was disappointed at all. There is also so much to see around the Maboneng area. I’d advise that you keep your belongings safe and try use UBER to move around , avoid walking because the areas is dodgy especially at night. But it looks like the JHB city center is being revived so that’s great and amazing to see!

Overall, its a wonderful place with amazing rooms with a great view.The only thing is that it was still very under construction when my girlfriend and I went, and I believed we could have been better received. Also, a large number of the vacilities were still unavailable, like the rooftop services and the bar.The room was big though, and had a wonderful view and amazing bed. Would recommend to someone when it is completed.

A new establishment in the area, within the Maboneng, the decor can lean on the darkside, the rooms are comfortable with modern decor. Their food is really good, well priced, modern and delicious. they have made good use of the space.

We went to the restaurant for breakfast, I was extremely disappointed with the offering.The food we ordered though simple was poorly created. I had the waffles with bacon, apple and caramel sauce, just not good.

Despite the noise of outside being between two major Roads and a train station nearby its actually a pleasant spot. Bar,Cafe,hotel and apartments all in one! Nice . I enjoy sitting by the cafe and looking out the street.

A nice take on repurposing an old inner city building - stylish and decent. Parking is super weird though. Climbing through level after level of twisty, narrow parking lot in a big car is terrifying.The rooms are nice though - bigger than any other standard room in a hotel I’ve seen so far. The age of the building really helps on that front (but don’t worry, it’s been redone very well). The restaurant downstairs... I’m not too keen on, but I suppose simplicity is what it’s all about. The vending machine thingie is a little out of place, but I suppose it’s for those middle-of-the-night munchies and the food facility is very homely.Overall, a nice place to stay - just go in with an open mind and you’ll have a great stay.
