Had a long flight and arrived at midnight. The driver took over an hour to pick us up because he decided to park at a different spot from where we were told to wait to be picked up. Eventually when he came there was no apology or explanations. The beds were comfy but the water was cold in the shower. The liftfs were not working so we had to carry our heavy bags up and down the stairs

Good location and staff for hub travel out of Johannesburg SA

The staff were very helpful. Tibogo was one of the skeleton staff members who went out of his way to help with check in, shuttles and room service. He had a friendly and professional approach.

Service is currently bad at the hotel. During my 4 night stay, i was moved into 3 different rooms. Some air-conditioned are not working. Shower drain blocked, and more other difectives within the rooms. Yes rooms are clean. I requested breakfast at 07:30 and only served at 08:30. My day was really ruined as i was late for a meeting.

Except that they forgot to book our shuttle from the airport after a long flight, the room was really comfortable and clean with friendly reception and the coolest, friendliest, shuttle driver!

Always my hotel of choice when I visit JHB. As an IHG Rewards Club Member, I know what to expect from all IHG Hotels. This has been my first stay since the COVID19 outbreak. All the necessary COVID19 protocols are in place and quite a few amenities removed. That said, the only thing I missed was the hustle and bustle of an IHG hotel pre-covid.Did I notice a little bit of wear and tear throughout the hotel and the lack of attention from maintenance side. The linen in the room was torn to shreds, BUT, everything was still CLEAN which I appreciated. As a hotel General Manager myself, more than others, I understand the impact this pandemic has had and still has on the travel and hospitality industry. Hotels are empty and budgets are nonexistent. A little bit of grace is in order.The only reason I am not giving my stay full 5 stars are for the simple things missed. Unfortunately not excusable. At 44% Occupancy, my partner and I got allocated to a double King suit. 2 beds. Only one set of towels (1 person). No ironing board or hairdryer. That was a bit of a letdown. I wanted to make use of the gym, but it was all locked-up. It was still possible to gym, but a bit of a nuisance.Not sure why there was no buffet breakfast. No one informed us otherwise or of alternative arrangements. Nevertheless, breakfast would have been nice.All in all. I had 3 nights of the best sleep I have has in months.Will be back soon again.

Staff were friendly and helpful, but rooms were small for a couple with luggage. The breakfast served in the room was poor. Items incorrect, fruit drink, not juice, cheap white bread shown a toaster and greasy scrambled eggs. This was topped off with micro- muffins in colours to attract 3 year olds.Shuttles were provided at a cost

The hotel carries the name of a valued brand, however the property is challenged by the Covid pandemic wherein the revenues have dropped considerably.Maintenance is required in many areas and it shows.The room was a Deluxe with 2 single beds and had no real space for keeping our bags after an international journey.Room was clean and probably sanitized.Lighting was poor in the room. To repack one needed all lights and even then it was inadequate.Staff was very helpful and given the current pandemic, very accommodating.The property requires a capital input and upgrade soon if it is to live upto the brand value.

Outdoor area not maintained well.Food was overcooked and desert was ordered but not supplied.Had to wait 15 minutes to be served at the bar.No hot water in the shower.Towels were available on the first day but not replaced on the second day.Breakfast, eggs were still raw and coffee that was ordered was not supplied (only received an empty cup)

We just want to give a big Thank You to all the friendly staff at Holiday Inn Boksburg, especially Martha and team for the very beautiful decoration they did for us. They have walked an extra mile for us and really made us feel special. The food was divine and the chef was also a very kind gentleman. All the guys and girls behind the desk thank you for the great service we got.

Going downhill fast. Neglect creeping in . Have to order from restaurant into room.. no dining room. Later delivery of food... they will need to up their game to stay in business

It is a wonderful hotel with a good medium-sized swimming pool. The rooms are comfortable and clean. I really enjoyed my stay there and will sure go again.

While on holidays in Johannesburg S. Africa we stayed 4 nights at the Holiday Inn (Airport). We arrived from Canada exhausted after almost 30 hours of travelling. Reception staff were exceptional and very efficient. The rooms were nicely appointed and very comfortable. The breakfasts exceeded our expectations with a huge assortment of hot and cold options, fresh fruits and pastries. The staff were amazing and went out of their way to ensure our stays were top notch. Nelly Motaung in Reception and Lizwe Rakwena in food services were exceptional and their smiles were infectious. Highly recommend this Holiday Inn.

Service not good at all.

Very comfortable, well managed hotel with helpful, friendly but efficient staff. Great value too. And good sound insulation meant you scarcely heard the planes inside the hotel. The swimming pool is a bit small. Hotel is very near shopping facilities, which are walkable.Would just like a bit more vegetarian/vegan friendly options in the restaurant. But they tried hard to accommodate our dietary needs. Thank you!

Building looks good but not operating

The lobby area, restaurant, outside space are all very good. All the staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient.Beds and pillows were good but the bedrooms and bathrooms could do with some updating. Overall a very pleasant stay and excellent value for money. Would definitely recommend to others and we would not hesitate to stay there again

Was a nice place too stay, a few problems, some lights werent working, usb port didnt work, and at night, had a cold shower. The vending machine doesnt work properly as you put money in and then the goods dont come out.

I stayed just one night in this hotel while transiting home and though it was a short stay, Id definitely stay here again and recommend it.The staff were super helpful and friendly, food in the restaurant was good (I had the beef burger and would highly recommend it) and very reasonable.The Fitness room was Okay, could do with having some towels in there and both threadmills werent working. But they had the important things for a workout so that suited me.On really good idea was the two pillow option - Firm or Soft and I thought this was great, add that to the comfy bed and I had a really good nights sleep!

My entire experience from my call to booking checking in to leaving was excellent. The staff are super special and friendly and that what makes your stay even better. The room was super clean and has all the dstv channels for one to enjoy which also had unlimited wi fi.The room had a safe which was on point. The staff at the restaurant and the chef were out of this world and made my meals to what I requested. All in all my stay was one that I will never forget , which will always bring me back to the hotel. I will recommend this place to my family and friends and anyone that I meet. 5 star experience at an awesome price.

This is a great place to stop over when you have a day or two layover. The staff is friendly and there is a free shuttle to and from the airport about 10 min away. Will even drop you at the mall during your stay. GuGu is a great omelette cook and is super friendly! All the staff is friendly and helpful. We stay there about 10-15 times per year. Great value for Joburg!

The hotel was clean, beds were comfortable and the staff were friendly, courteous and very attentive. Because of the hotels close proximity to the Airport, the sound of airplanes interrupted conversations in the dinning room and patio area. However, no planes could be heard from the bedroom. Will definitely stay here again, just wouldnt have meetings in the restaurant.

This is a good place for both business and leisure and very well connected with the airport and other facilities one may need, e.g. different types of shops hence easy accessibility to all necessities in a foreing country. Well secured with friendly and well trained staff that make one feel welcome. I also liked the bed and pillows, one is able to relax completely without the backache the following day. Breakfast is superb but lunch can be improved.

Place is tidy really quiet.

The gym is super nice. You can do most workouts in it. Lat pull down machine with pullup bar not shown. The staff is friendly and helpful. All meals served on site for a fee and were very delicious. Breakfast is a huge buffet and lunch and dinner are sit down service. The airport shuttle is nice but a bit infrequent during the evening and doesn’t run at all from 11pm-6am. Rooms (especially bathrooms) are a bit outdated but clean. Beds and pillows are comfy and you can’t hear planes from the rooms!

This hotel provides shuttle from the airport, serves a good breakfast buffet, provides comfortable rooms for sleeping and the staff is helpful beyond expectations. The guest rooms are on the small side, perfectly fine for one person, a little crowded for two. But the common area and business centers are large which help make up for a lack of space in the guest rooms.

From the moment I was greeted by Airport shuttle driver I knew this wasnt just a regular Holiday Inn! Its exceptional staff, from the front desk, restaurant and housekeeping, made this business traveler feel as if one had arrived back home. Convenient free shuttle to/from JNB-Tambo airport and the nearby local mall. Comfortable, quiet immaculate room. Lovely reasonably priced restaurant with varied food choices. .

We have stayed here for the past 4 years every time we visit South Africa. With the Covid-19 outbreak we were unable to get any rubber gloves or masks as everyone was sold out. GM Liezi and her staff went out of their way to ensure they gave us some gloves and masks for our plane trip back to Canada.They have always treated us great and we will continue to stay here every time we visit South Africa.

This hotel offered a really good holiday inn experience. The shuttle ran on time every time. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and the hotel was quiet at night. The food and the bar were very much above average with good food at a reasonable price. The staff was very responsive and everyone seem to know what they were doing. Overall this was a very good hotel for an airport stop over.

I travel a lot to South Africa and this is one of my favorite places to stay. The staff is always so friendly and efficient and helpful. It’s like a home away from home. I would recommend this place to anyone is looking for an easy access to eating facilities as well as shopping facilities from where you are staying. The hotel offers great shuttle to take you to the mall or where you would need to go. It’s an easy trip to and from OR Tambo Airport.

When you need a place to stay close to the airport this is great. Free shuttle and the price is right. Also there are some great places to eat within a 5 minute walk. Turn and Tender is one of our favorite steak places. You can get a great steak for less then $15 USD. Cant beat the price for a premium steak. The service is always great.

I had a nice stay. The front desk staff where willing to assist in order to make my stay memorable e.g at one point I locked my access card in my room, the assisted me with the other one. The kitchen personnel were interactive and were will to ask and share information. That made our stay very warm as we were travelling with small school kids who can be handful to control at times. The staff were willing to keep up with the kids while not compromising their quality on hospitality.

Good comfortable room. Internet wend down for a while, Shower had nothing to hold soaps, and lighting over sink made shaving a challenge. Slow, SLOW kitchen service for dinner, but great quality. Fantastic breakfast buffet. Wish Id had time for pool and fitness center: both looked inviting. Terrific Airport Shuttle service and very friendly front desk!

I needed a place to stay close to the airport in order to continue my journey the next day to Pretoria by train. The shuttle service was available within a half hour of arrival and I was able to go back to the airport the next day upon checkout. This place has a small gym that I was able to use in the morning. The swimming pool is small and it was a little chilly so I did not use it. I am very likely to go back to this hotel in the future.

Experienced two extreme end of staff attitude when dealing with them. Front desk staff friendliness definitely have room for improvement. Impressed with how friendly could the restaurant staffs and mechanic staff could be. Property is bit dated and maintenance of the equipment and tools condition will need some attention. For my stay, aircon remote control is faulty so unable to even turn on aircon. water from shower is pathetic. It also being penalized to book early as hotel offer a cheaper rate at the later date and don;t offer member to eligible the cheaper rate and it also not qualify the Best Price Guarantee program.

I pre booked my room on line. I received a text that my room would ready upon my arrival which I arrived as I stated. The check in was a bit lengthy but not too bad. I was taken to my room, the A/C had already been turned on and all seemed very good. The room was as per the description. I started to unpack and a knock came to my door, it was the desk clerk. I answered and was told I had to change rooms! I just got there and was partially unpacked and had to repack and transfer to another room. I had been travelling since 06:00 that morning by car from Maputo to Johannesburg, a long trip. In any event I went with the lady and was put in a room half the size and so small not even a stand to put my luggage on. The desk area had a warped and peeling top, not my idea of a room transfer it was absolutely a downgrade, why?

Great conference facilities and very helpful staff.Extremely comfortable beds, great linen and clean rooms.Fluffy, white towels and great bathroom facilities.The hotels restaurant menu is varied with prices to suit any pocket. The food is very good, especially the breakfasts. A varied and abundant breakfast buffet is served every day.The shuttle service from the airport is extremely convenient with the shuttles running on time driven by very courteous drivers. Overall, a great experience at the Holiday Inn Airport and will most certainly visit this hotel again.

Good; Everything clean and comfortable - really good value in any currency.The bed was very comfortable, pillows perfect.Courtesy packs were generous, bathroom with shower and bath; everything needed was there.Liked the iron and board supplied; hair dryer; If I had to suck something slightly negative out of my experience, it could be that the coffee supplied in the morning tray was not to my taste, and that the climate control did not seem to make much difference. But only because it does sound a bit too good to be true otherwise.I was a little concerned when I realised that it was not very close to the airport, but the shuttle service was excellent and surrounding shops, banks, restaurants etc were all within walking distance. Very convenient.

It was another great experience at your hotel with your friendly, motivated staff. I guess its a result of a strong in-house staff development practice: maintain it!Your location is good, near good shopping malls and the airport. It is also a rare and unique experience to watch planes coming in to land, so low and majestically!!Yes, given another chance I will be there soon.

Great check in, efficient staff and a clean room made for a good overall experience. They need to work on the quality of the breakfast as it is not worth the $18 charged. The supper however was good and the pool is clean and very welcoming.

Stayed twice on nights before flights from the nearby airport during an extensive trip to South Africa. Hotel was all I expected. Good, reliable shuttle service to and from the nearby airport (van can be crowded), a great buffet breakfast and a comfortable, well equipped room. Friendly front desk staff. Very quiet for a hotel right under the main aircraft approach path for the airport. Close to major shopping mall and good restaurants. Uber service was easily available.

Quite a popular hotel. Great service. Conveniently close to necessary amenities. Beautiful furnishings in rooms! The fact that its closer to the OR Tambo International Airport is a major plus! My friends and I totally enjoyed ourselves at their quaint bar area.

The way the hotel is double glazed made our sleep at night peaceful and undisturbed I must emphasis that the sound of aeroplanes was no problem what so ever .The hotel is very clean and well maintained.The excellent service of the welcoming staff, Reception staff ,the Chef and Dining room staff was a breath of fresh air to us after a long international flight.The pool area and Gym are a fantastic addition to the stay.Thank you once again to the very dedicated staff at the Holiday Inn Johannesburg Airport.All the best for your futures.

I really do enjoy this hotel. The staff are excellent, friendly, professional and accommodating. I was recognised from previous visits and treated as though I was returning as family. Its a great hotel.My only recommendation is to maybe improve on the menu.

The shuttle service from and to the airport is very timeous and the drivers courteous. As one is introduced to the reception area you can not avoid to enjoy the friendly front line staff and the expedient check in service. The rooms are equipped with the essentials for a comfortable stay and sleep. Wifi these days is a standard requirement and the hotel provides efficient and fast connections.For those desiring to do some shopping the hotel courteously provides shuttle service to and fro the shopping mall., albeit the mall is also within walking distance.

When my boyfriend came down with gastro I fully expected the hotel to make us pay for the night and forfeit it as it was after check-in time. I was pleasantly surprised when the hotel agreed to move our booking to the following week and even offered sympathy on his condition. The actual stay was perfect, the quality of the room was excellent, the furnishings were modern and well maintained. The breakfast offered a wide variety to suit all tastes and the staff were extra efficient at ensuring any request you had was met. The front desk staff were warm and welcoming and really accommodating when we asked to check out later than the standard check out time.The pool is lovely and well maintained as are the grounds and reception area. I would definitely recommend this hotel for business or leisure travel

The Front Desk Manager (Mr Collen Twala) was excellent. He provided really good customer-service, was very polite and did everything possible to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The food and dining-service was top level too.

We really loved our stay at the Holiday Inn OR Tambo airport.

On our way to Zanzibar we stayed at the Holiday Inn in Jhb near Oliver Tambo airport. We were welcomed in a very friendly manner. The check inn was very fast and we slept very comfortablle in neat rooms.The next morning the driver had to pick us up at 4h30 already he was on time and very helpfull and friendly. We left our vehicle there for the whole 10 days and it was looked after very well.On our arrival back at the airport the shuttle was on time again and we were back in the hotel very quick. I would defnitly advise people to stay there.

The staff at the restaurant and at the reception were very warm. Food was good. Snuttle service was excellent. Had the opportunity to meet both drivers, Leonard and Prince. Extremely polite people.

Just an overnight stay but its very comfortable. Dinner and breakfast was very good. Shuttle service to and from was also provided. Ill be staying there again on my way back home.

The room was quite nice. The property feels safe. Its not super close to the airport but theres a free airport shuttle service. You do have the landing planes coming directly overhead, although I never really years them loudly from my actual room. There was some ugly construction going on at the time I was there so its hard to say what the hotel in general may look like otherwise. The overall value was good.

We needed an over night stay before catching next flight. Figured since we have stayed at other Holiday Inns near airports, in different countries that were really good, we would stay at one here as well. Although, the Staff was friendlier here than some of the other countries we have stayed at. But then, that is due to the overall friendliness of the people of South Africa.

The wifi in the rooms dont work... when you mention it they will simply say the IT guy has to come check the routers. Dinner at the restaurant is good, shuttle service is convenient, but staff arent particularly friendly or offer personalized attention.

Its very accessible to the airport with shuttles to and from the airport. Its quite comfortable for short stay and you will have access to nearby shopping centres. The staff are quite friendly and will help you figure your way around.

The hotel is close to the airport, the rooms are soundproofed and very dark. Did not hear a plane at all, slept very well thank you. The buffet breakfast was excellent, something for every taste.

From a comfortable bed, fast internet, well-furnished room and well rounded accommodation, this is the best hotel experience around. The best friendly service one can get, I recommend this place for you short or long duration stays.

Rooms are well serviced and extremely clean. The conference center could improve with sound proofing each venue. Noise from the hallway is quite disturbing and if improved makes for a perfect conference venue due to easy access to OR Tambo and friendly staff at your service.

Travelling from the UK primarily for leisure but also to spend time with family, we as a family were looking for a hotel that would be cheap but comfortable and Holiday Inn fitted the bill perfectly on paper.This was also the case when we arrived. We were greeted by very friendly and knowledgeable staff who made us feel like the only guests in the hotel.We booked for bed and breakfast and were not disappointed. Comfort of the room was excellent and if it wasnt I would have felt more than comfortable informing the staff and I am 100% confident that they would have done all they could to make things better.Overall, a very pleasurable stay.

The room was acceptable and check in was pretty quick and easy. The food for dinner was pretty good and the free breakfast had a lot of choices both hot and cold. The only problem we had was after arranging a late checkout we went to breakfast only to come back to our room and find housekeeping had taken all the linens from the bed and taken all the towels. 3 phone calls and a walk to the front desk as well as over an hour later they finally brought more and the lady had an attitude about having to come back. This made for a disappointing morning before heading to the airport. They do offer a free shuttle to drop you off at the airport.

Location great. Everything needed nearby. Quiet inside hotel even though in path of planes. Parking safe. Rooms nice they just need to stay on top of servicing their Aircon’s. This is where I choose to stay each and every time I come to the area. They provide shuttles to airport which is a plus.

As an IHG member I was badly treated and the whole stay was very bad with what I experienced.

Hotel rooms were nice and clean. Being close to Airport and lot of flights going over it, the hotel is very quiet and rooms were comofrtable that we could have good night sleep. You can have breakfast with large selection of items both Hot and Continental. Staff was friendly and accomodating to our needs. Will recommend this hotel to other travelers.

Great airport hotel within walking distance to a shopping mall, but the hotel will take you there if you request. As a Platinum member I was well taken care of from time of check-in to check-out. Attentive and personal front desk staff made me feel very comfortable.There is a small swimming pool, gym and steam room available for use. Nothing great, but I enjoyed use of them.One caveat is the noise level of the hotel. It is below the flight landing path for one of the runways at the airport. The windows are not sound proof and it makes for an interesting visit to the pool area. Taking a nap during the day was almost impossible but the frequency of flights tapper off at night.
