I bought a fresh salmon Norway fillet this afternoon, packed in foil tin - looked good but when I opened the fish skin was not there! Why would you remove the skin? It’s important for flavour and I enjoyed making skin crispy and flavorful. This really ruined my experience.Update:You asked for my details, which I have shared with you via email - as requested. I am so angry. Today I did some shopping and I purchased prepackaged fresh hake which is not exactly cheap. Usually the fish is amazing. Today the fish took very long to prepare. The texture of the fish was funny and it did not have any taste. This fish was not fresh at all. There is a possibility it could have been frozen I am not sure but it most definitely was not fresh. I was really looking forward to the fish.

The guys by the fish market in the shop are so helpful and friendly. They take their time to explain how to prepare the fish and the differences between the types of fish. World class service!I wish I could say the same for the Midrand branch - those will sell you rotten fish and dont you dare ask them a question. Kunzima!

I have bought fish that was off at Food Lovers Chilli on Top and today I bought doughnuts and cake that looked delicious but all was old! They were hard and terrible. Very disappointing!!! The store is disappointing and does not take pride in having fresh produce and goods. I’m done with food lovers chilli on top, they are the worst!!!

Store is much bigger than youd think by looking at the cramped and cluttered entrance (sometimes).Inside, service is great, and their kitchen sells some interesting and unique eats that you can get for a reasonable lunch price.

Food lovers Market Chilli On Top was a very unique store. They had a wide range of freshly baked products and a large selection of fruit and vegetables. Fruit and vegetables which you hardly find in your traditional commercial stores. Even with the wide range of products, they still maintain their prices to a minimum. To top off their amazing services and prices, their bakery produces superior quality everyday... pastries which are flaky, light and satisfying.I seriously recommend this market to anyone who is passing by. Their biltong is low quality and quite disgusting. The greenstone branch produces much better quality for R50/kg less.

They have good quality fresh produce and their meat is quality as well. They have a wide variety of stuff that you wouldnt normally find in a grocery store but the only downside that the store is very small and gets congested easily with big trolleys.

Most of the fresh veggies and stuff was moldy and the meat looked really questionable. The very front entrance of the store was so cramped. Flies everywhere. Giving it 2 stars instead of 1 because of how well the workers sanitised the trolley for us

Food Lovers Market Chilli on Top has started selling few Indian spices and lentils. Charcoal is also available. Variety of dry fruits also available. Easily communicable, timings Monday-Saturday 8 AM -6 PM, Sunday 8 AM - 5 PM.

Its a bit cramped for my liking, though theres absolutely nothing wrong with the produce, its fresh and delicious as per food lovers market standerd.

My go-to place for fresh fruit and veg at absolutely unbelievable prices. Berry season is upon us and Im loving the strawberry and blueberry combo deals on offer at all franchises. Generally speaking, any of their fruit/veg deals are almost too good to be true, but they are. My mind is perpetually blown when I go there. Always leave with more than I intended to buy. The floors could be a bit cleaner, and their other groceries could be cheaper. But overall great!

Quality of some fruit stocked can be better, vegetables seem to be good. Enjoy some of the items from the bakery, which are made well.

Prices are usually good with meats and veggies, every time Ive been there staff are quite helpful as well. The only small thing Id want to add is maybe that they should also sell lactose free cheese. And some of the casheers are a bit moody sometimes but thats to be expected anywhere really.

Intentionally boiled pork riblets that had clearly gone off 😒, masked with some acidic flavour to conceal the fact that they are rotten. Feeding poison!!

Their ready made Alfredo pasta tastes like water.. And water has no taste.I cant speak for the rest of their ready made food but I would definitely not recommend the Alfredo pasta.

Smaller store, but one of the better stores when it comes to their produce. Owner is always friendly and helpful. They take pride in sourcing fresh fish and seafood. I shop here often.

I finally got my yellow chillies and it was affordable too. I buy all my vegetables from food lovers. Its conveniently packaged, neat and always the cheapest prices around. This particular food lovers is close to lots of office parks in the area like my work place, hence its easy to park and shop or shop and go home after work or pass through for that affordable lunch pack to keep you on the move. They have delicious ice cream, cakes, bread, biscuits, spreads, assorted chocolate and cookies

Please stop selling such bad quality fruit...like the watermelon I bought today only to discover its all yellow and pale pink inside!

The best thing about Food lovers is that they have the best vegetables and fruits collectionAll the vegetables and fruits are fresh and of excellent quality.They are pure and can be used for multiple days.Not only this, the Frozen stuff is also good and have a long lasting consumption fateWe can get all varieties of biscuits, cookies, chips, candies, spices, pastas breads, cakes and lot more.Happy shopping.

Isnt this supposed to be somewhere you can get nice fresh produce? Low levels of variety, everything looks slightly old and wilted, using boxes to cover up their lack of stock. I really expected more and was very disappointed.

Absolutely disgusted in the state of this food lovers.Flies all over the fish and open fruit. The veggies were bruised and not tightly packed. The fruit was off. No pricing on anything. I was very disappointed by the condition the manager is keeping it.I wont be shopping there in the future

The fruit and veg are not always the freshest but normally very well priced if you look for the fresh food.

They have a nice variety of foods. I like the pre made lunches that they sell. You can also get a variety of meat here and fruits and vegetables.

Today I got 5-star service!!! I had a Food Lovers Specials brochure and did not realise it was for a new shop opening elsewhere. There I had my trolley packed with what I especially came to Sunninghill for, being where my wife shops. I saw the prices did not match the brochure, and, low and behold, when I asked Store Manager, Hennie about it, he immediately said Not a problem!! He arranged with Grace to assist me at the tills, where I got the prices as advertised for another shop!!! That is real CUSTOMER CARE!! 5-STARS!!

One of our favourite brands. Great flower selection outside and fresh fruit and veg as you come in. The fishmonger knows what hes doing and the bakery has a great selection. You would also be able to get most of your groceries and household items on the go.

This Food Lovers is the best. I got fresh mussels. Fruit & veg. Lovely rolls. The best 12 month cheddar which tastes like proper cheddar.
