I called The Orchards in November 2020 to book the honeymoon suite for May 2021, as I had booked the venue next door for our wedding and The orchards came highly recommended.The booking was confirmed by Telephone and by email on 15 November 2020.Since then I have heard nothing from The orchards. I called today to make sure everything was still in order and was informed that I had never made a booking, (even though I have the email confirmation), I was also informed that they have been closed since last year, (2020) and that it was impossible that I had made any booking or spoken to anyone!The woman on the phone was completely unsympathetic to my plight as I now have no accommodation for my wedding day in May! She insisted she had never spoken to me when in fact I had spoken to her on 2 separate occasions once in November 2020 To make the booking and confirm prices and again in January 2020 When we called to make an appointment to view the guest house.She insisted this was impossible as they are not open and not taking guests. And was unable to assist me with the accommodation that I had booked!When I asked why no one had called to tell me the guesthouse was no longer open or taking guests to let me know I would have no room on my wedding night she said, “because they have no guests and I had no booking” shocking shocking shocking!If I could give zero stars I would! I would never recommend this place to anyone as after you make a booking you can not be guaranteed of the accommodation when you arrive! Completely incompetent!

What a beautiful place to chill out at the food is to die for.

Received the most amazing service when we had stayed there on the day of our wedding. Rooms were lovely and spacious, friendly staff and lovely breakfast, the only downfall is the service you receive. I find that the response time is very low almost like when it suits them, and we had a struggle to get our deposit back. I believe that if you are running a guesthouse that your level of service needs to be fast as it is a business you are running. Other than that it was a wonderful experience for us

It is a very lovely place to stay in for holidays and tours or even school trips.It really accentuates the South African culture.Peaceful and reserved.The food there is everything we find appealing, mouth-watering, delectable, savory, delicious, palatable, inviting, tantalizing, toothsome, luscious, tempting, tasty, enticing.Im guessing this is because they are expirienced in the food and decor departments as they host weddings as well.They also adjust their menu for each personaccording to their dietary requirements, just please dont over do the dietary requirements okay.I Truly Enjoyed My Stay There.I Guess You Would Too

Such a beautiful place with such a great host... I highly recommend this place. Hidden just behind our backyard for a sense of peace and tranquility with lots of storytelling and adventure.

This venue is very beautiful and tranquil. The stahh and owner are very friendly. They make you feel at home. The beauty of this place is the gardens and the morning misty feel in autumn. The African heritage truly is defined here.

I ve stayed here for a number of years and have never been disappointed.Always a warm welcome and some but very tasty foods at dinner! Its also extremely comfortable and authentic in its design. Try it !

Beautiful place for Massages

It was great. The gardens are beautiful. Its a typical events area, but you could also go there to relax and take a break from everything else. The traditional theme adds authencity to the place and kind of gets you in tune with your heritage and roots

For accommodation with many prestigious awards their rooms, service and staff leave a lot to be desired. On the positive side they accommodated a really late check in, but thats where the great service ended. The rooms are well sized but as per the pictures dirty and falling apart. King-size bed duvet had holes in it, and the cupboard was missing a handle. The kettle cord was so short you had to place it on the floor to boil water?!. The breakfast is relatively ok, with the first day we ate there was no coffee, 2nd day easy much better. The gardens and pool area are beautiful. I wouldnt recommend this place unless they drop their prices by a huge margin or they actually start realising what customer service is and how to actually maintain their prestigious awards.

Very Basic its actualy a 3 star place very poor wifi connection it has a nice pool.

On the 30th of March 2019 we booked the whole place . And we were treated as garbage! The pool was closed , and they refused to open the wifi password. The lady there was so rude to us & the children we couldnt bare the disrespect. Some of the rooms didnt have tea & coffee sachets . Honestly if Id have a chance to go back there I definitely wouldnt go!!!

We slept over on the night of the 28th November 2015. For a 4 star resort, I would have expected a bit more as to the plain rooms which greeted us. There was only one set of towels in the room. 1 Large, 1 Medium and 1 Small. As for the breakfast that was disastrous. When we arrived at 08:00, there was no bacon, tomatoes, filter coffee or jams left. The staff had to go around looking for the items. The jams which they found, were labelled incorrectly on the bottle. There was a few people booked in for the weekend and it looked as though the staff could not cope. Did not look at though there was anyone in charge that one could talk to and complain. I was so sorry I booked there as we were expecting a very nice place as we had a stunning wedding at the Forest Walk Venue the previous night. Would not recommend this venue to anyone - sorry.
