My new favorite place. The view of northern Joburg is so enchanting from here. Best intimate spot in Joburg for a well-deserved sundowner with loved ones. Their service is just so incredibly warm and the food: by far thee best salmon and risotto I have had EVER!

Excellent food was served at a their multi-course, seasonal wine tasting dinner (which is a must-do). The stylish hotel and restaurant is set against the hills of Northcliff, offering goers unending views of the city. My only complaint is that the restaurant does not allow uber (or your own car) to drop you at the door, meaning that customers must trek down a steep hill (i therefore caution against high heals, or a sprained ankle is guaranteed) to the restaurant entrance. Mind you, the decking at the restaurant is also not high heal friendly. Nonetheless, a great establishment.

I have never seen beauty of Jhb view till I went to The Northcliff Boutique Hotel, The hotel is situated right at the top mountain of Northcliff. Service Excellent, you will be treated like King and Queen.

Beautiful venue however the service from the manager was very lacking and distasteful. You pay for an experience but he treats you like youre there for free and hes doing you a favour. Johannes is a very rude and abrasive manager. The pork belly was dry and fatty, not crispy as it should be, even the mash potato was bland. Wonderful venue but Johannes detracted from the entire experience which was not cheap

Very romantic little hotel and restaurant overlooking Johburg. Good food, lovely rooms. Look out for their special events and wine tastings. Consider them for your special occasions or for a Saturday morning breakfast meeting or Sunday family lunch.

My husband and I stayed over for a night (birthday gift from my children) and had dinner and breakfast. This place is a GEM! The food outstanding! Service 5 star...thank you Sheldon for being the best waiter ever! The room was luxurious and immaculate...and adding the spectacular views to make this an unforgettable birthday. To top it off: we stay just over a kilometer from the hotel. Will definitely visit it again. Thank you to the whole incredible staff for a stirling job.

We didnt stay, but rather visited the restaurant. The service and the food was great with good portion sizes and minimal waiting time. The location is amazing and intimate, especially at sunset. The views and the time to relax and enjoy the scenery really makes this a must visit. As much as Id like to keep this gem to myself, I have to give recognition where its well due.

What a gem! The view is stunning and they provide a lovely lawn with couches for customers to fully enjoy the view. The hotel is situated in a housing complex. Parking is sort of an issue for large amounts of customers.The waiters are efficient and well mannered. The food however was okay. Had a fillet steak which was bland and over cooked. Could be because we had a large group and it put strain on the kitchen. Overall a very nice experience and lovely view. If it wasn’t for that the food would have gotten 3 starts.

The Northcliff Boutique Hotel is an amazingly beautiful and elegant place sadly I did not get to stay the night but the manager Johannes was absolutely amazing and the staff was super friendly. I have been telling everybody I know about this amazing place with views to die for. I can not wait for my next visit, the food was just right and the service was better than most. Really sets the bar high for the level of quality expected of restaurants across the world.

An absolutely breathtaking view with an amazing restaurant layout and design. The food was amazing (I would recommend the gnocchi for starter the salmon with veg for mains, although the steak is just as good, and the malva pudding for dessert). Our server was especially helpful, attentive and friendly. My only real critique is the overall ambiance. I found the music to be very elevator-y and whilst talking, felt although we should be whispering in the dining room so as not to disturb everyone else (we are not a very raucous group, but the echo and silence of the dinning room was just not very inviting or welcoming). Overall, I would definitely go again, but secretly mainly to see that view!

This is one Prestigious place in the Westrand of Johannesburg. Classy and stylish, the Gourmet restaurant. The staff Welcoming ... and if you have taste for the finer things in life this is the Place for you .

No longer what it used to be. The view is still the best in Johannesburg, but sadly the attention to detail is no longer there. Wine prices are ridiculous and the few lower priced wines were (predictably) all out of stock. In addition, half the items on the food menu were also sold out. What we could order was expensive, but good. Worst of all, we had to park outside in the road because the very limited parking was full. Not rushing back.

We went to the Northcliff for Christmas lunch and the food was below par, especially for the hefty price. Dishes were unimaginative and bland, and the vegetarian menu was terrible - one dish was curried vegetables in an avocado. The service was also odd and the whole lunch took over 4 hours and were left with 45 mins between courses. Overall, disappointing.(Reservation under Tara)

Food and service was very good. Selection of wines and liquor lacking at the moment. We can understand that the business just came out of lockdown and therefore will support them again for Sunday lunch. Our room was spotless and the wifi signal strong. Except for the out of stock items a very good experience.

Bad experience at the Kranz restaurant. Partner booked the restaurants specific seat based on the view for my birthday. Received the confirmation email, however upon arrival at the restaurant that evening there was no booking on the system. We were then accommodated towards the back of the restaurant with no view ( which is why we booked there, not necessarily for the food).There was only one waiter serving which seemed overwhelming for him, who tried his best.My recommendation would be (i)make sure you you print your emails when you arrive to the restaurant,and confirm your arrival to avoid what I went through. (ii) Find out which alcohol is stocked before booking too as their bar is also limited, (iii) visit during peak times, which I assume would guarantee more staff.

Disappointing experience at a beautiful location. The restaurant is situated on a hill with a picturesque view. However they got my wifes order completely wrong. Then on paying the waitron asked for his tip in cash claiming he would not receive it if we added via credit card only to completely change his story when we had significantly less than 10% in cash.

We thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Food was lovely, views amazing and a bespoke wine list with unusual wines from smaller cellars. We arrived in the rain- such a nice touch when the manager offered me the opportunity to use a hairdryer in one of the unused rooms to dry my hair 🤗

Should not be called a boutique hotel. The only nice thing is the view. Breakfast is standard, and their beverage menu does not cater for non-drinkers (had someone who could not drink alcohol because of religious reasons and there was not really much to choose from). The photos make it look nicer than it really is. Also the location makes it good for a bnb at best but hotel is a huge stretch. I can see they are trying but things are just not working. Food is nice but I have tasted better.Edit: The reservation was not booked under my name so that may be the reason for the confusion. Non-alcoholic options were offered but the selection offered was extremely limited than what I would expect from a place that calls themselves a hotel

The place, service, hospitality and the people that work there are teuely amazing, the food was okay and needs a little bit of work, but overall im am very happy and will definately be returning!

LOCATION : The view of the hotel is unparalleled. Its a small hotel, renovations are going on as they are still expanding. Jaco the manager did state that they will build a proper pool next year...that would be fantastic. FOOD : Their salmon with beetroot risotto is delicious, but the winner for me was the 3 course breakfast and the very helpful waiters especially Ramock. My friend and I were impressed and will definitely be going back
