Yesterday l bought a cup of coffee and rolls ,the breakfast is incredibly nice ,with great taste and value that energizes you and keeps you strong. Especially during the cold times, a cup of coffee and bread makes a day. I love the service and the way you are accommodated even if you came to buy something small to them you are the best. My favourite authentic German bakery in Jozi. Try their spelt bread on Tuesdays and grab a slice of their delicious Butterkuchen, a specialty from the Northern part of Germany.

You will never go wrong with either Schweitzer bread or Italian bread at a reasonable price, and I cant get enough of it. To cherry everything on top, Blackforest Bakery staff is very friendly while their service is outstanding.

Absolutely love the pastries and bread here. And I mean it. Their Cinnamon Swirl... 😍😍😍. I never knew Id have a love affair with a pastry like that.And the aroma of the freshly baked bread in the air is just intoxicating. Bellisima!!! Actually came to my attention that most restaurants in Braam actually stock their breads from these guys. And they sell at ridiculously low prices so it makes business sense.Sad to say though... I was disappointed with a cake I bought for my moms birthday. It had one of those stinky cheeses as an icing and was 🤮. I couldnt even get through half a slice. Had it not been for my weedhead neighbour it would have gone straight into my compost bin.Its not a place where you can sit at. The decor (what decor, actually) is cold, kitsch and straight out a 1940s movie set with plaid curtains. Actually, dont go here hoping to sit down, just get whatever you need and leave, thats the idea.Will I be going back? Over and over and over again. The shop owners have no desire to be anything other than what their main objective is- be great bakers. And they do that meticulously. Dare I say even... this is actually the best baker in Johannesburg.

Fresh German-Baked goods! Do not be mislead by the size and dodgy location. This bakery was not the easiest place to find, but once you do it is so worth the hunt! I recommed the Olive Ciabatta loaf, Bee Stings & ANYTHING that has chocolate. I would not recommend the Lemon - Poppy Seed tart/cake it was a bit too mushy & lacked flavour. (Dont let the car guards look after your car when you can see your car right from the bakery, they are chancers - will charge you R15. If you really want to support them, try negotiating with them - we gave them R5, as we were literally there for 2 mins).

I buy these guys bread (ciabatta) in my local Spar. They do the usual German brot suspects (rye etc) but curiously their ciabatta is, mostly, a real winner. Nice crumb and well aerated although sometimes I pick one up and it is dense and heavy. I had hoped to buy one fresh on a Saturday morning visit, unfortunately they were sold out.They had a large selection of cakes but I was not impressed nor were my taste-buds. Anyway, I continue to buy their ciabatta and the rolls.
