It was ok. Positives: extensive kiddies play area and bike trails for the little ones. The miniature horses and donkeys are adorable. There is a lush lawn and ample seating. But: The food was ok, but underwhelming. Service was ok, could have been better. This is such a beautiful venue with an old stone house (old enough to have been declared a national monument), gorgeous lane of yellowwood trees along the entry path, breathtaking garden with tall lush trees at the entrance... and then the rest leaves one underwhelmed. Do not expect a spectacular view of the waterfall. Expect to be placated by several placards instructing you what not to do. Perhaps more energy has been put into the function venue.

Upon this empty plate, there was a Vegetarian Burger and Potato Wedges. Ordinarily, I take pictures of the food Ive ordered before I eat it. However .... this Vegetarian Burger looked SO delicious, I gobbled it up rather hastily, completely forgetting the picture-taking ritual. Scrumptious. Youll just have to go and see for yourself :))

Great atmosphere and perfectfor families with kids. Good food although very limited vegetarian options. But I guess thats the norm.

Most beautiful view of Howick Falls from this outdoor Café 😍 the baby animals are a showstopper. The breakfast menu caters to each persons needs and portions so I enjoyed my Mini Go Breakfast😁

Bring the kids they can pet some animals while you have a quiet lunch. Currently really a great experience as you watch the Howick falls with full water going over. Remember the treats for the little ponies Dinkins and sheep and if you are lucky the zebra too.

Animals and view of the waterfall are very nice, but the jungle gym needed some TLC and sitting inside due to the cold was like being at a different place all together. It was not cozy but cold, silent and uninviting ... food was ok.Not a great experience sad to say....

Once in a life time experience, we recieved 5 star treatment from the second we walked in, even the animals gave us a stellar treatment. Food was lovely and fresh and wholesome. The setting was just moving and the day was a perfect one just out of a novel, with the valley in the distance, sunny skies, smiles and laughter all round. Must recommend for families with kids who enjoy they kids interacting with animals or want them to overcome their fears of animals. Another tip would be to bring apples or carrots for the miniature donkeys, ponies, goats, sheep and pigs.

What lovely setting for both an indoor and outdoor restaurant. The view looking directly towards Howick falls is beautiful. This is an old building with lots if charm. Kids party? Not a problem. Dining on benches under trees your idea of fun. Go here. Need the seclusion of an indoor eatery? They cater for this too. Want to do a breakfast run on Sunday with some biker friends? Youll be welcome. Great place

A beautiful place to have a function or just bring loved ones for a delicious meal. The staff are friendly and helpful. The manager is always around to check that everything is to your liking. I highly recommend this place.

The food was great, the atmosphere and surroundings very tranquil. The animals and jungle gym make this a fantastic venture to bring the kiddies, and you can even see the Howick waterfall from here.Very impressed with how management dealt with a minor issue, can highly recommend this as one of your Midlands stops!Oh, and very strict Covid measures and social table distancing makes for great peace of mind!

Great outdoor restaurant

Negative. - They were not busy when we went, but the service was slow and their special stir fry was dreadful.Positive - masks were worn by all staff, your temperatures is taken on arrival and sanitizer is available before you are seated. The burgers and chips were great and so were the milkshakes and chicken avo tramazini.Beautiful view of Howick falls in the distance, great play area for kids with animals to feed.

Went to Yellowood Restaurant in Howick of lunch.  Beautiful setting, sadly terrible food. Steaks overdone, roast lamb  was substandard. Never again to Yellowood. A wasted afternoon. Will be settling for Willowton Palace tikka later today. Chef change needed at Yellowood. Never setting foot there again. Roast la.b was like a soup.

I should keep this a secret so I can always get in! What a gem. Beautiful setting next to a historic stone house overlooking Howick Falls. Rolling green lawns and some small animals. Play area for children. Lovely menu with specials too. Licenced venue. Staff well supervised and efficient. Great experience.

This is an especially great restaurant for taking the kids. Lots of jungle gyms and an awesome animal farm that looks over Howick Falls. Superb food and stunning outdoor setting while you lunch.

Such a beautiful spot for Sunday breakfast. We’ve been here a few times and the service is great, the coffee and tea and breakfasts are all excellent. The French toast is to be recommended. Lovely animals for kids and the view is so pretty!

Our new favourite spot in the Midlands. The setting is lovely, the food is fantastic and great value for money. Where other restaurants are inflating their prices to make up for lockdown, Yellowwoods prices are great value for money. If you have kids this is the place to be. If you dont then sit back and enjoy the great food and gorgeous view.

This is an awesome venue for families. The food is great especially the tramezzini is my favourite with the milkshakes. Keep up the great service by ALL the staff from the front to the kitchen staff.

Enjoyed a lovely Sunday afternoon at Yellowood Cafe where they had a great Craft Beer and Gin day. Lovely atmosphere with great beers,rum and gins. Many flavours to choose from.

Lovely breakfasts, order for extra coffees a bit slow. Love the view, great atmosphere.

Wow, this was a terrific experience. It is a magical place dogs allowed on a leash, you can see the Howick Falls from there, kids play areas, animals can be petted, behind a fence, where they roam free. Staff are so damn friendly and smiley and helpful, the Manageress also so friendly, coming round checking all is well, the food out of this world. Overall recommend this for families and furbaby lovers. Try it out for yourself.

Great venue. Great place for kids to run around. Nice open door seating with lovely view. The food however was a little disappointing. Would still recommend the place on all the other lovely qualities of this place.

Beautiful farm setting with a relaxed and peaceful environmemt. Great play area for kids. Food and service good. My curry pie uniquely served (meat on top of pastry) mostly good but just lacks a little something flavour wise to make it really good :-)

The waiters are extremely friendly. The premises has an extraordinary view overlooking a portion of the iconic Howick Falls. The premises is well kept and a good environment to take the family for a little bit of quiet time. In regard to the food... which most people would go for. It was nothing more than an extreme disaster. The range on the menu is very limited. There is only one pasta dish which would make you hope that its a specialty item. But it was rather disgusting with the chicken tasting like it was boiled in a microwave saltless then dumped into the pot before serving. The burgers were even worse. The patti barely had any seasoning. And were more like poached meat balls. Maybe its a matter of the palate or it was just not a very good day but to get local support, wed expect some improvement of the primary thing people go out for. And thats food

Very quick service with delicious food. Nice wide open space with a large play area. The donkeys and other animals look very healthy and well looked after, and love having their noses and necks rubbed.

Family friendly, yummy food, could do with some citronella candles though.

Liver pate and bacon pasta was the best. Great old world character charm and atmosphere a kids paradise.
