If ever a restaurant in South Africa deserved Michelin stars, would be this one.Faith was engaging and on point with her service. Great sense of humour and attentive. The FOOD, omg ! The food was an orchestra of taste, presentation and sensation. The Chef and his team got every dish we ordered perfect. Sublime fusion of ingredients delivered flavours in perfect balance. I ordered the Seafood Curry, spicy. Perfectly seasoned turmeric rice, three slices of roasted potatoes mopped up all the heavenly gravy. The mussels, calamari, fish and prawns elevated this dish to legendary status.101 Mead, you are in a league of your own

A warm welcome when we walked through the door.Lovely peaceful atmosphere with low volume music to set the scene for my birthday lunch.The waiter was good and kept us well stocked.Food was so good and excellently prepared.Dessert was mouth watering and the cuppacino was a perfect ending.You have to...HAVE TO..visit this special place.

Pleasantly surprised and met expectations after we read so many good reviews. The food is on the upper end of fine dining with matching prices but money well spend.Back end of restaurant perhaps a tad noisy being so close to the kitchen. If you want a quite area book in the front section.

Good choice when being in George. The restaurant has a creative menu (i.e. peach with Gorgonzola ice cream), but has not yet brought flavors to full perfection (e.g. balancing the curry with some cream or using less oil for snails). From what we saw, almost everyone ordered steak with bone marrow and fries.

A reall dining experience from the moment you are greeted at the door! An open kitchen to see the Chefs at work.The staff are friendly and well trained.

We were told 101 Meade is the best restaurant in George. So we popped in for breakfast. We think our sources may be right. Great ambience, friendly people, and simply superb food, served with style and panache. Chicken livers could have done with a touch more heat, but beautifully cooked. And the scone was a proper scone, with gorgeous texture and taste. Well definitely go back.

Amazing ambience, jazz tunes, lovely decor and so helpful and friendly staff! But the the best part, the food, Tantalizing and even when full, couldnt stop, yum!! So vegetarian friendly, we were spoilt for choice! Definitely a must stop en route to your next adventure. The salted caramel milkshake was also amazing 👏

I absolutely love this restaurant! The staff members are so friendly. They have a nice fireplace-oven which adds to the cozy ambiance. I would 100% recommend their carrot cake- its amazing!!

This was the best meal I have eaten in a restuarant for a very long time. My husband had eisbein and I had a vegetarian mushroom delight. Both were superb. Lots of vegetarian options to choose from. Great staff, very friendly.

Everything was excellent. We had a very warm greeting, the service was excellent and of course the food was impeccable. It was my first time here. But my wife has been often and claims it as her favourite. It was her birthday and they missed that hint to make her feel special, but all in all 5 stars

Had a lovely Sunday dinner at 101 Meade. Wait staff are absolutely wonderful and friendly. I chose to have the Oxtail, pork shin and red wine jus with mustard mash as my main. What an explosion of flavour. Their menu caters for everyone eventhough its not massive. All their food is prepared freshly and as you sit in the dining area you have full view of the kitchen. There is also a private dining room available and a bar to have a drink whilst waiting to be seated. Dont forget to pick up some homemade pickled onions, garlic and various other goodies. A fine dining experience and I will be back for sure.

We popped in here as we saw it was open on our way to the airport. It wasn’t planned. What happened next was by far the best meal we had of our whole holiday - and honestly the best meal we have had in years. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. Every single bite was delicious. So much care and thought was obvious throughout the meal. Your chef is an artist. THANK YOU for this absolute treat. Please move this restaurant to Johannesburg! 🤩🤩

We almost missed this place. Ended up at Mead Cafe, which was closed. On our way to find another restaurant; we drove pass Mead 101. Made a u-turn. Was well worth it. The food was complimented by the lovely ambience of the venue. Very friendly staff. Didnt have to wait long for our food either. Absolutely nothing negative I can say about this place. Loved it.

Are you a fan for great food, then this is for you..... I was celebrating my birthday there and I had awesome fun, the team is awesome and very friend....whats nice is if you love art, then you can do window shopping whilst going in and out of the loo, theres book with prices......

I had one of the best dinning experiences there. I loved my food from starter to dessert. The waitress that attended to us handle the group of 9 with such ease, so impressed by her. Definitely will go back next time I am in George.

We had dinner on new years day and the place was packed. We shared the tuna starter which was delicious. My wife had the veg curry and I had the grilled sirloin. My steak was perfectly cooked and was great with the bone marrow. Unfortunately my wife found her curry bland. We let the management know, and they were very apologetic. She didnt want a replacement or a freebie, she just found it average.We shared a dessert which was good. We payed the bill but only realised after we left that they had removed the curry from the bill. This wasnt expected but we did appreciate the gesture. Its often how mistakes are managed that are a sign of a good restaurant. The management are great and professional. We will be back.

AMAZING BREAKFAST & ambience!! Friendly & helpful staff, each and everyone of them. Very tasty omelette evenly filled with cheese, bacon & mushrooms with a prefect cappuccino. It was a lovely, pleasant morning. Ill be back!! ... thinking of trying them for dinner next.

The BEST fine dining food I have ever eaten! The type thats so good you stop talking and eat your food or even though youre full you cant help but keep putting mouthful after mouthful in. Good portions and so tasty plus flavourful! I had the lamb chops with potato surprise (I say surprise because there were so many delightful foods in there)!!Please open a branch in Gauteng!

Popped in today at 101 with a friend just for coffees but we ended up having breakfast after being convinced by the waitress Charlotte to try out their interesting Menu the breakfast was really good as well as the coffee will certainly be back

Such a great experience. We discovered this restaurant 3 years back and since then we have been coming back. Each dish is unique and the combinations just amazing. Will highly recommend them for those looking for a fine dining experience.

Had a great evening at 101 Meade! The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The food and drinks were great value for money and we enjoyed the lovely warm and cosy atmosphere by the fireplace. We attended a Mixology craft session which was really entertaining and an extremely fun way to spend a Thursday evening. Would definitely recommend 101 Meade! We will be visiting this restaurant again very soon. 🥂

From the moment we arrived we were looked after by amazing staff. Our waitress Aphilie was attentive but never intrusive. The restaurant is beautifully designed with a cool, modern aesthetic and warm lighting. The food was magnificent. Every bite was a pleasure.
