A quick stop for a bite to eat brought us to Eira Moura Portuguese Restaurant & PubWe knew the food should be good as its the sister restaurant to Casa do Campo - Boksburg (I stand to be corrected)So as you know Im on a mission for the best Trinchado and Milho Frito so our waitress Tracy was very knowledgeable on the food etc and so I ordered that with a side of Milho Frito. My sister ordered the Pica Pau - A mixture of meats, steak pieces, chicken fillet, chourico, vienna with pickles on top.and a Irish Coffee.While waiting on our food we indulged in the Portuguese rolls and their Chilli sauce which has a lekker kick to it 👍🏻During this time we had a change in waiter to Jonathan due to some unforeseen circumstances, who assisted us until we left. Although the food was nice, Im not a fan of the watery Trinchado, i prefer the thicker consistency, the Milho frito wasnt bad either. I found the plating a bit awkward since both items were liquidy, a bowl would have been better suited to avoid making a mess. My first visit to this restaurant...pleasantly surprised. We received a warm welcome and were served immediately. A friendly and knowledgeable waitress helped us.The food was fantastic and fresh.Will definitely be back again 👍🏻

Best food at best prices authentic Portuguese Food

Amazing chef and amazing fish.

I took out some friends for an early dinner and a long over due catch up.. I suggested Eira Moura because Ive been there a few times before and they were happy to try something new. The restaurant did not disappoint! They never have... The food is authentic, well priced, so specially prepared and so delicious, it is definitely one of my favorite places in JHB. All covid regulations are in place so its safe and super clean. As for the staff, wow! Ive never experienced bad service there and this time especially, our waiter and his new waiter-in-training were friendly, great to banter with and had no end to their smiles and good energy. We had a few good laughs and it just made the whole experience even better! The only thing I can say is sadly, they were out of their chocolate mousse dessert and if I remember well enough, its so good that I didnt mind they didnt have it because it just gives me another reason to go back 😅

Enjoyed a superb Saturday lunch here. Tasty gizzards and chicken livers, followed by a truly scrumptious peri peri chicken. The sizzling rump with mushroom sauce was also delicious. Naturally followed by an espresso and. 1920!

Fantastic food. I absolutely enjoyed the prawn and chicken combo.

The Pregos were yum, beers frosty, and tequila delicious. All served by some pretty awesome waiters. The clan is glad we got to chill there on their last trading day for 2020. Reopening 4 Jan (or thereabouts). See you then Eira Moura!

Prawns were not that good,,very good service, however Ill give it a miss in future.

Probably the worst meal we have had in years.Slimy raw defrosted sole for R195, and the toughest sinewy T bone steak for R160.If I could give minus stars, I most certainly would.There is obviously no complaints procedure as zero management even bothered to come and talk to us or offer any resolve.For a family owned and run business, one would expect a little more personal attention.No return for us....

Excellent food, fabulous old style Peri Peri sauce. Try the Peri Peri chicken and prawn combos, excellent taste and value for money. Service is also very good. Well worth a visit.

We had the goat stew and the T-bone. The meals were both very delicious and filling. I loved the abience and the service we received as well.

This is my second time here and the food hasn’t disappointed yet. The chicken is always succulent and juicy and the prawns are absolutely delicious, and everything from the veggies, bread and chips are incredible. If you don’t like spicy food you can always get the lemon and herb option which has great flavor and is not spicy at all (I do not have a spice tolerance and I can eat it just fine!). The service is also really great, super friendly staff. Will definitely be back again, Thanks Eira Moura for the great food!

The food was excellent, however most of the things I wanted to order were not in stock or available, I had to change my order about 3 times. For a Portuguese Restaurant/Pub they do not have any Portuguese beers, which is odd as other Portuguese places do. The food is a bit pricey, but it is really delicious and it is worth the price. The dessert was divine, even although they didnt have Chocolate Mouse, my second choice was the Mini Cakes, which were fabulous. The waitress that served us was so friendly, professional and checked up on us quite regularly , she definitely deserved the tip we gave her.

I must have been to Eira Moura about 15 times in the past 3 months. The service is excellent and the food is to die for. The seafood, poultry and meat dishes are all next level. And the desserts (the baked cheesecake, especially) are great too. F**k it, the owner must just run for president

Wonderful authentic Portuguese restaurant

Disappointing, was told by the waiter King prawns were R40 each only to be charged R65 a prawn on our bill at the end of the evening. Apparently on Valentines day they were bigger. Did not make a fuss but will definitely not return to dishonesty.

What a little gem. Ive lived in the area for 10 years and for some reason only just tried it. The food was excellent and the staff were on point. It is a little on the pricey side for some dishes but I think you get what you say for. I will certainly be back.

Had a work function there. Food is good except for the chicken livers. I had kingklip that was cooked perfectly. Dessert was also good and over all a good place to dine.

We had the Sole with 5 prawns and Sole, calamari and 3 prawns. The poor Soles were so small they should have been thrown back in the sea. At the price per dish of R170 at least offer two of the baby soles per dish. Food was tasty, however expected a little more value for money.

First visit 22nd Feb 2018. Heard a lot about the restaurant and the food and was rather excited to go. Had Giblets as a starter - delicious. Main was a Combo - Sole & 6 prawns. Not really impressed. Sole was over cooked and dry and Prawns were lacking in the Wow factor as far as flavour was concerned. Was great that there was an indoor smoking area. Service was outstanding and made one feel like one was part of a family. Would revisit but try another main. Prices were comparable to most other places. This is not a franchise.

This is a traditional Portuguese restaurant. There are no frills here. It is a local place with a local feel. I enjoyed the personal touch and also the very traditional Portuguese food especially the chorizo. The restaurant was recommended by one of my Directors and he is Portuguese. The manager, Ricky was an excellent host and made everyone feel like they were right at home even though most of us were from out of town.
