I ate again here after 3 months and really feel sad that after supporting this business for 15 odd years yesterdays lunch was probably my last. The fish batter is not crispy at all. The hake disintegrates rather than being flaky. The chip portions are half of what we used to get. Offcourse the prices have inflated substantially, which is relative, however the servings have reduced too.Thank God the Grumpy looking owner wasnt there.

Great place for take away fish and chips. The deep fried calamari is a favorite of mine. The waiting time is quick and the saff friendly. Not much else to say really. As take away fish places go this is one of the better ones. Only the chips lets it down slightly (too oily for my liking but not necessarily for everyone) all and a solid 4 out of 5

Placed an order telephonically, rushed to be on time to collect 10 minutes later. Large tender juicy Hake and tender crunchy Calamari, both seved with ample portions of chips wrapped in paper in the traditional old fashion way.Clean, tidy, unpretencious and functional shop with a few tables and chairs. Staff members are friendly and efficient. Value for money. Will definitely return. Best in the Musgrave and Morningside areas.Street parking available.

The most horrible seafood i have ever eaten in life. I bought the seafood platter for R270. I ordered over the phone then collected my order, everything on that platter was fried and dripping with oil couldnt even swallow it coz of the excessive oil. The mussels were fried which i have never heard or seen someone do that and they were burned. With the reviews i was reading online i really thought i would enjoy the food. It was my first time buying from this place and would never recommend it to anyone. Really a waste of money 😔💔

Service is not what it used to be

Stale, pre-cut chips. The hake is good but a fish n chips experience should include fresh cut chips.Its not like they dont have time to peel potatoes, there arent queues of people waiting in line. Pre-cut chips are tasteless, dry and unhealthy with whatever preservative is used.People in the catering industry have become lazy.Bring back good old fashioned slap chips!
