An excellent spot inside Simbithi Estate with a beautiful view of the golf course. The play area is well maintained and suitable for kids of all ages. Enjoy sundowners, a hearty cooked meal or a stunning glass of wine from the extensive wine list. Worth a visit for young families

I honestly have a love and hate relationship with Fig Tree. Theyre not consistent. Just when I try something and its amazingly great.. Boom next time its terrible service and below standard food. So hey.. Its one of those things

We had a wonderful time at the Fig Tree Restaurant. Our waiter, Vincent, was amazing. He was an absolute pleasure, catering to all our needs and arranged some Bunny Chow for two people at the table, since it was a lunch time speciality (we came for dinner). The food was tasteful and very well presented. The menu is very diverse catering to all your needs, from burgers (which has a Banting option) to Duck Confit and a range of pastas and sea food.We will defiantly return to the Fig Tree.

Great place, the food was reasonably priced and delicious, the kiddies play area is the main reason we went and it didnt disappoint, all with a stunning view. Highly recommended

Lovely to sit on the verandah overlooking the golf course. The service was good and the meal delicious.

Their change rooms are neat and clean. Have everything one can need away from home: shower- private individual change cubilcle- mirrors- hairdryers- carpeted floor- and couches

Great spot for breakfast or lunch with the kids with beautiful views of the golf course and forest. Large play area but more ideal for older kids from age 5. Looks like they have a great setup for watching sports.

An excellent dining experience. Great food selection, with every meal meticulously crafted. A variety of cocktails and an excellent wine list complete the ensemble. Whether its a 3 course meal or just coffee or dessert, the staff are friendly and welcoming. Will highly recommend to all visiting the north coast

I have had many memorable meals at the Fig Tree, and must say that their food and service is absolutely fantastic. However at the end of last month my daughter, son-in-law and 2 year old grandson visited there for lunch, when my grandson, whilst playing near the childs play area, was bitten by a Stiletto Adder that had made its residence just under the wooden decking. 8 days in hospital and almost the loss of his toes/foot, timeously saved by the fantastic doctors at your local Ballito hospital.To date nothing has been done to close up that area where the snake crawled under. They advertise Child Friendly - I think not. The manager of the restaurant has kept in contact with us, but no word from senior management of the Estate, whom I would have thought this incident serious enough to make comment on, or contact us. I somehow dont think that they are even aware of the tragedy to my grandson. A letter, phone call or visit to the hospital in those 8 days would have been nice. Clearly their interests lie elsewhere.Visiting the restaurant - I suggest you keep your children at home.

Service is not always good and food sometimes mediocre. Outside tables are dirty and stained. Children always present and largely uncontrolled making the place unpleasant at times. More like a family venue than a restaurant for more serious diners. Much better Restaurants in the vicinity.
