No hot water for 2 days. 12 degree morning so imagine how cold and the need for a hot shower. No answer on the cell. Not nice experience. A lame excuse when our message was seen hours after we left

Clean, cozy and efficiently run. Aircon heat and electric blanket on the bed were very welcome in winter. Reasonably priced. Safe off-street parking.Try the Bordeau restaurant nearby for homestyle meals and to see an authentic middleclass karoo home built in the late 19th century - still owned by a member from the original family. Lovely metal-pressed ceilings, furniture, china and other loved household things collected by the family over the decades. Take a look at the ancient grapevine planted by the original lady of the house (on the back stoep).

We slept over at Crane Cottage halfway from Cape Town to Pretoria. As it was out first time in Colesberg, we were wonderfully surprised at how pleasant and clean the town is. Beautiful buildings, clean streets, very nice restaurants. We were welcomed at Crane Cottage in a friendly and helpful manner. The room was clean and spacious. With everything you need, clean white linen, electric blanket, quality mattress, crisp bath towels. In the room is an aircin, fan, fridge, kettle with nice coffee station, microwave, etc etc. We had amazing food at the restaurants, walking distance down the street, a warm shower and a really good rest. We would definately sleep over there again.

Very nice and comfortable place with friendly helpful people...rooms very comfortable and nicely decorated...also nicely situated behind the rocky hills...I would suggest this as a definate halfway stop to all travelers heading to Cape town, PE, Etc...Colesberg its self also a very sweet little town with lots of history it seems.

Great stay, a little bit pricey but good experience

Comfortable beds and charming decor, this is a lovely place to stay or stop over on a long trip. Owners are really nice and welcoming. The place is dog friendly as well, no need to worry too much about allergies, bedding is changed promptly in the morning and the rooms i could see were tiled. Breakfast served is a good English breakfast with cereals and yoghurt. Wi-Fi is available, DSTV as well.
