One of our favorite places to get oysters, its a really lovely place to sit and enjoy a glass of wine and oysters. They also do a lively menu of other dishes and the prices are really affordable. The staff is helpful and we didnt wait long for our food. The vibe was relaxed and the quality is consistent.

Perfect experience. Ten seats available at the bar. We got the 12 large oysters and got a bottle of champagne. Service was quick and friendly. The oysters were amazing and fresh.They have other hot food too. Like prawns and rice, mussels and sauce.Highly recommend. They have vouchers on hyperli!

Great food and reasonable priced. Try the shrimp and the mussels. Shrimp came grilled with peri peri, flatbread and chips. Mussels done in a white wine sauce and served with a spinach ciabatta roll. Very tasty.

Very good place to eat oysters and mussels. I prefer French oysters like Fines de Claire, but they still good. One star less because really too spicy tuna (and I often eat cayenne chili).

Oysters were fresh and tasty, however service was slow as we waited quite some time to place our order and the place was not that busy.

The oyster is fresh and the wine is tasty. Price is worthy and reasonable for you to enjoy a meal here. I ordered different oysters and did enjoy them. I went there for twice in different days of my trip in cape town. Sincerely recommend this shop.

Fresh oysters

Simple oyster bar that specialises in oysters freshly shucked in front of you.The bar sells oysters by size, and the staff recommended the medium ones to me. The dozen oysters I had varied a bit in freshness but overall it was good for the cost. The lemon that I got with the plate was a bit too dry to get much juice out of, but they do offer other condiments such as tabasco sauce.You are also able to order wine with your oysters, however they dont sell non-alcoholic beverages if youre trying to stay sober during the day.

The Knysna Oyster Company at the V&A Food Market is THE BOMB. Excellent quality oysters and we had to return multiple times during our trip to Cape Town because it was SO GOOD. If you want good oysters without the fuss in Cape Town, this is the place to go. Ive had the ones fresh in Knysna, and these are as good!

I only have excellent things to say about Knysna Oyster Company! The food is super duper awesome and make sure to try the Prawn dish, its excellent!

The quality of oysters is very good. But other things are pretty mediocre

We thought that it was one store (restaurant), but ate at the counter seat at Oyster Bar. I ordered a dozen large oysters and muscles-there was a request for cooking chips in front of me, and I was pleased if I played a lot of chips.

I have to say this bar call it that because its not a restaurant, is the best place to eat every day we were in Cape Town.It is located within the right when you walk market. I must say that the waitress at first we did not understand and had a little incident. But from there everything it went better and became an amazing meal.You can only order wine or beer or have soft drinks, only wine.It is a bar of a bar you sit there and they serve you or you take it outside that there are some tables where you can eat.It was worth it at several restaurants throughout our stay at the Water Front where we paid triple (as a minimum) and it was not so good, really go and try the oysters here. The prawns were also .. for dipping bread !!

There is nowhere fresher oysters than here and this at an unbeatable price! 12 oysters of size medium along with two glasses of 0.2l + wine for 290 rand (19 €) is absolutely fair and both of top quality. If you want you can eat the Giant Oyster, but this is impossible with a single sip should be possible. To sit class at the counter and to watch the hustle and bustle.
