Als just opened up near me, in 2nd Avenue. According to their menu the ribs are famous. I havent had good pork ribs in years. These lived up to the hype. They even taste good the next day, after being microwaved. WHAT. Go eat them you wont be sorry. Great staff and Al was lovely too.

Although this restaurant is not as busy as it used to be, Al still gives excellent service. Very friendly guy who loves to chat up a storm with his regular customers. Food is served within 10 minutes and it is deliciously fresh. Lovely atmosphere with music or you can watch the sports channel on tv. Highly recommend Als Place for a nice dinner.

This is a wonderful intimate homely family restaurant.You arrive as a stranger and leave as a friend. The staff are fantastic, the service good, the food portions good size. Food well cooked and served hot. Highly recommend this restaurant, if you arrive after seven pm it would be a good idea to make a booking.

Had my 21st here, and it was so epic! I had never had a meal here and was told to trust the steak blindly and I did...and would recommend it any day! Veggies were just superb! Loved the service here as well, the team here is amazing. It feels like my little secret restaurant hidden in Rondebosch where Ill run for beautiful chats and excellent meals. All my expectations were met and surpassed!

Relaxed environment, cool Al photos on the walls, the most delicious complimentary spinach and butternut side dish Ive ever had, and I enjoyed my pizza too. Definitely going back for more.And the waitress was really nice too.You can use the Entertainer app there.

We went to Als place on one of their musical evenings. The ambience was welcoming the food was excellent and the friendly informed service excellent. A thoroughly enjoyable evening.

Went for dinner on a ‘voucher site deal’ and was told to choose one meal from a limited menu to qualify. This should not have been the case.Service was average and food was moderately good.Regular customers were well treated.

Als Place is like Cheers. Remember that sitcom? Except its not a bar. And there is no fat guy named Norm. There is Al. But hes not fat. What he is, is a bloody good cook and innkeeper. He has long standing staff who are friendly, efficient and who obviously enjoy what they do! The food is always superb...so good, in fact that it very tempting to order the same dish that you had the last time, and the time before that.Make sure you go with people you like and who allow you to sneak a bite of what they ordered. It is an unpretentious place with a relaxed atmosphere which allows you to linger over your meal.

We have been there quite a few times now. We love their steak, chips and vegies. Al and the staff are really super and it has a good atmosphere. Excellent value for money

Great meal at Als Place Restaurant, Station Street, Rondebosch last night. Al was the perfect host making us feel totally at home even though we had some unusual challenges for the chefs. Relaxed and friendly atmosphere and delicious food.
