Most delightful seafood restaurant on the Melkbos beachfront.. excellent fresh line-caught fish with the most divine of sauces.. And such great service.This has become my favourite restaurant..

When I am going to dine out, its not just about food. Its the experience. And what a experience Cafe Orca delivers! Professional staff and beautifully cooked and plated food, a large variety of line fish with an array of different tastes and textures. This place is not about your standard hake, prawns and calamari, they have it if you would like, but its suggested to try more particular variants of fishes. The melt in your mouth bluenose, or the firm and fragrant swordfish or marlin. Prices are in the reasonable range, considered what you get for your money. Not something you can find everywhere, not something you would be able to cook at home.

I cannot say that I have eaten better seafood anywhere else in Cape Town. The service was great, the menu selection simple, yet with great combination and a variety of fresh line and shell fish options. The sauces were truly delightful. The fish was fresh and the aromas coming off the food was so good. From start to finish with that yummie ice cream dessert which was fantastic...actually the food was simply superlative. Cannot think after living here for so many years in Melkbos, that it took me bumping into a strange man at a fish counter in Checkers, to tell me about this amazing restaurant. Why we not know about this place sooner? It was priced reasonable and quality exceptional. I will definately become a regular. Love the setting, right at the beach, great presentation and the clean feel of the place. So happy to have found this little 💎 gem.

I enjoyed the Moroccan line fish with tomatoes and capers and hubby loved the fried hake.Side veggies are scrumptious and perfect #fries .. and of course #wineAn absolute treat for sure …

The waiter offering us fresh fish available was a eye opener. Had grilled moonfish with Cajun butter and the best ever roast vegetables. Lovely. On the stoep, on the beach,what more can one want?

The food took forever but was worth the wait. Awesome food! So glad we went today before adjusted lockdown again, so sad about the hospitality industry and covid regulations. 😢

Dear God this place was heaven. Quite little Cafe with an amazing view. The seafood was absolutely amazing. I had the Moroccan Line Fish (Dorado) and my wife had the Yellowtail in Lemon Butter. The Moroccan Sauce that the fish came in made me feel like I was in Morocco. It was so delicious and flavorsome. The staff were really friendly and the restaurant has a really great feel to it.

We had the most amazing food, the best service and I am sure my prawns multiplied!! We could not finish it. The Durbanville Hills merlot, despite what the experts say was perfect with the chilli oil I added to my prawns. Well done guys and thank you.

Lovely restaurant with sea view, great service and delicious seafood.I went there for Valentines day with my partner and we had a set menu. The food was really good, if I had to complain about something it would be the risotto was a bit mushy but apart from that everything was perfect.They welcomed us with a glass of bubbly. We ate fish cake for starter. Risotto and salmon and catch of the day with langoustines and roasted veg for main. Chocolate pudding with pistachio ice cream for dessert and a decaf coffee.Dinner came with a bottle of white wine too.It was a beautiful dinner and a very attentive service.Orca could possibly be the best seafood restaurant in the area, no doubt.

People were really rude. Just reading the other reviews here re-enforces what I thought about this place. The owner clearly hasnt realized that attacking the consumer for leaving a poor review simply is not the answer. I probably wouldnt have left this review if the owner had just been more open to others criticizing it, rather than trying to BLAME the consumer.

Food as always excellent. For Sunday lunch you cannot book. Was told to be there @11:00 for when they open at 12:00. Party of 9 cannot all stand in front of Orca for 1 hour. Two of us took turns in standing in front of Orca. Placed a bit of a damper on the lunch, but we really wanted guests to taste the good fish at Orca. The standing in line is a bit off putting, why cant they just take bookings?

At first you think their prices are a bit steep, and then you get your food and youre like, wow. Well worth it.

Absolutely incredible. The oysters are sweet and magnificent. The tuna with Cajun spice was nothing short of perfection. Speechless on the overall quality of food with a truly magical sunset view of the ocean.

For the best seafood in Cape Town you have to go to Cafe Orca!Their seafood is always fresh fresh fresh and SUPER tasty! I’ve never been disappointed in all the times I’ve eaten there.I highly recommend making a reservation prior to arrival and also, arriving with an empty stomach - if you thought it was only their starters and mains that are good, their desserts are mind-blowing.Always very good service, with friendly waiters and a lovely setting, over-looking the beach (great for watching the sunsets in the evening).

Always a good experience coming here. Im not a seafood fan, but Ill definitely come here (for special occasions) as my Spicy Squid meal was absolutely yummy! 😊 My grandmother and brother had the Melkbos platter, which they both enjoyed and my aunt had the Mediterranean Fish, which she enjoyed too! 💗 Would always recommend for a fine-dining seafood meal. Ocean Basket, my bum! 😁

Scrumptious food, a good waiter and a great view.Ordered a grilled hake and everything blended well together (anything matches anything, or on its own). This indicates deliberate structuring of the meals.Shall return.

An incredible experience from start to finish. From the person who took the booking call, to the beautiful lady who received & seated us, to the waiter, Jarrod, who served us with patience, knowledge & enthusiasm. The decor is neat, clean & plain and creates a lovely atmoshere. Service is excellent & the food probably the best Ive ever had. The Morocan linefish (Moonfish) was perfectly prepared & the veg & chips absolutely delicious. The portions are huge, but you cannot stop eating, because of the delicious flavours. Hats off to the team at Cafe Orca. I think many restaurants can take a leaf out of your book of what an eating out experience should be. My taste buds were doing somersaults.

Fresh fish, fresh oysters and yummy dessert 😋👌top service 👌 everyone super sweet.....went with hubby and my 7th year old daughter, my daughter was super comfortable, she even left us eating and went to sit by herself in the lounge ...she said mommy people are sweet here they brought me a blanket..we found her comfortable sleeping❤️❤️❤️❤️

The ambience, position on the seafront, friendliness and knowledge of the waiters together with the quality and presentation of the dishes were a delight. We visited this restaurant a second time within a few days and were sublimely impressed as we were the first time. Our complements to the chefs, management and waiters and all others concerned in managing a superb restaurant.

Are here on 19 November. Beautifully presented, super delicious seafood. Excellent service topped by stunning view. I would recommend taking own wine and paying R50 corkage.

Cafe Orca is the best, their food and dinning experience is amazing. Owners and staff are friendly. The view is beautiful, you practically sitting on the beach. You cannot come to Melkbos without going to Orca for lunch or dinner! All the locals know it and love the place. It is the hidden gem of Melkbosstrand.
