The driest of dry, small tasteless fish or rather fish tale... Tasted like its been there for hours. Really not impressed and the portion was just ridiculous no spice, chips werent well cooked yhoo horrible I tell you...

Being a fish and chip shop in N1 City you would think it would contend with the likes of JohnDory’s, Fishaways and Ocean Basket which are within spitting distance however it does not even come close to the others.Sure their service time is impressive, I waited less than 5 minutes for my Large Calamari and Chips But food quality leaves a lot to be admired. And now onto the food and prepare yourselves, this will be long. The Calamari strips were wafer thin, extremely heavy on the batter and the batter had too much spice to the point you can’t even taste the calamari. The chips are nice, freshly fried and have good seasoning on them but portion size? It would classify as a handful of chips. The calamari portion looked big enough but due to it being wafer thin, it’s a lot less than it looks like. Very disappointed with my food here and I would strongly advise anyone who wants a cheap fish and chips or calamari and chips to rather go to one of the three restaurants mentioned above as you will get better food and more food for the same price. For R70 you could get better calamari and chips from the nearest spar and get more there for R70 than here. The only good thing about what I have consumed here today is the buddy coke, but that’s not made there so no surprise.EDIT: Calamari King? Time for a rebranding. Can’t even make their signature dish pleasant.

Hi there. I bought the large calamari for R49,90 about an hour ago. It is the worst and bad quality that I have ever seen. I will try and load a pic. I am from Kuilsrivier and only discover it when I got home. This is really not value for money because it is so thin,dry and tastless.RegardsEstelle

I bought a calamari, fish and chips Gatsby it was a total waste of money the fish was tasteless, the garnish was terrible and the calamari was horrible. Wont ever buy at this take aways again. What a waste of money

This place is shocking!!! for R35 you can literally count the amount chips and the tiny piece of fish. Not even a piece of fish its a piece of tail the size of the palm of you hand...…. their portions are daylight robbery.
