What an absolutely delightful High Tea my mom and I enjoyed at The Conservatory in Constantia. We were treated like royalty by incredible staff, and there were so many mouth-watering delights served, that we ended up taking home a box full of bite sized cakes to enjoy later.The gardens of the Cellars Hohenort Hotel is a piece of art! There is not a leaf out of place and makes for a stroll in their gardens after tea definitely worth it! The entire time spent there, from the time we stepped out of the car, until we drove out - was faultless!

Beautiful setting for high tea. Space is great on a summer’s day, but has a very inviting and cosy inside area for a winter’s day visit.More than enough treats and variety on the high tea menu! Corkage available if you want to take your own bottles of wine/champagne.

My friend and I went for my Birthday celebration to the Conservatory Restaurant for breakfast and it was amazing. The setting, food and service was beyond my expectations. Our server, Mr Passion, truly made us feel welcomed....Plus the gardens are really beautiful. My first time visiting and will most definitely not be the last. Looking forward to try lunch.

Had the most amazing experience at The Conservatory. The classic high tea was outstanding. Everything was delicious. Way too much to finish😅 the service was also really good. The gardens are so beautiful. Totally serene and surrounded by nature.

My wife and I visited for the classic high tea and had a great experience. The venue is beautiful, the staff are professional and the tea savoury and sweet snacks are well worth the price and very filling!

It was my first visit to The Conservatory, and I will certainly return.... often.The beautiful garden setting is absolutely stunning! We were there for a special breakfast and we were not disappointed. The service was top drawer and my continental breakfast was very good. The staff went out of their way to prepare a vegan breakfast for my wife. Thank you. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone.

If you want a special treat for a special occasion or more intimate experience then the Conservatory is excellent. The bar and restaurant have an extremely upmarket feel and the food and service are fantastic. Definitely worth the experience.

We went for the high tea which was a large portion of savoury and sweet treats including sandwiches, tarts and a chocolate mousse. Tea and coffee were provided with a wide range of flavours. Staff were friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was relaxed and tranquil.

We enjoyed a lovely low carb high tea as a pre Valentines Day treat. It was scrumptious and just enough for 2 people. We also ordered scones separately which were fluffy and delicious served with jam, cream and butter. We went quite late in the afternoon about 30 mins before the high tea service ended so we had the garden seating area all to ourselves. Lovely service from our waitress on the day. A walk through the beautiful gardens after tea is recommended. I am looking forward to a return visit as I believe there have been changes/ updates to the menu.

We made a decision very late on a public holiday to visit the fantastic Cellars-Hohenort restaurant, Conservatory, to celebrate the recent success my wife achieved and I am so glad I decided on this restaurant!The setting, the service, the presentation and the quality of food were all exceptional as these photographs attest to. The amuse bouche was a very tasty butternut soup to start with.I would highly recommend the Springbok loin, the fresh line fish of the day, the ember baked celeriac and the bobotie! We enjoyed a run of the Mill Blanc de Blanc which combined beautifully with most of our dishes.The cost of having a meal here for a family of 4 might be steep but it is most certainly worthwhile as it is more than a meal - its a full experience, as guests are then invited to stroll in the gardens around the beautiful historical Estate.We found the service to be professional and fast and particularly enjoyed Monicas chat with us...

The most stunning high tea for a bridal shower of 16 people. Flawless service and great value for money.

I went to the conservatory for their Easter brunch, and I was amazed at the quality and taste of the food. For my starter I ordered a leek and gruyere tart which would not look our of place in a Michelin-starred restaurant. For the main course I had the leg of lamb, which had a perfect texture and was served with delicious potato Dauphinoise. For dessert, I chose a creme brulee, which was also excellent. The decor is tasteful, and timelessly elegant. One (minor) complaint was that the main course took long to arrive, but otherwise every other aspect was perfect. To be done again!

I loved the experience, beautiful views, food was good, service from staff was excellent, overall interior was fine, slightly formal with a relaxed feel. The dish I had, which was the duck main, couldve had been more flavorsome, the pak Choi didnt do anything for it... An orangy flavor added to dish couldve have lifted the duck, Id love to go back there, highly recommend.

Another of my secret coffee spots is the lovely Cellars Hohenhort Hotel near Cecilia Forest and Kirstenbosch. Beautifully tended gardens, manicured hedges, luscious rose bushes and a view of the mountain make a scenic backdrop to the tasteful hotel. The lounge with its fireplace and cushioned couches is superb in winter for the casual menu. For a more formal feast make your way to the Conservatory with huge windows overlooking the varied green foliage outside. Well worth a visit for those who like the comforts of a hotel.

I hosted a lunch there today. The setting was great and the food was good. However, the service was disgraceful for a 5 star establishment. We had to beg for service. Our waitress omitted to pour a glass of wine for me. She had to be summoned regularly for attention by calling one of the other waitresses. There was no sign of a maitre d to check on anything. It was an embarrassing experience. I will certainly not be eating there again.

Wow! What else can I say. The views are absolutely stunning if you get a back table that overlooks the forest gardens. The food is excellent and is beautifully prepared. No complaints what-so-ever. Really enjoyed this fine dining experience. P.S. make sure you have an assortment of their desserts, some of the best Ive ever had!
