Dinner was not planned and an impulsive choice. This was one of the best dinner plans ever. Service was excellent, food was incredible. The fish was incredible fresh - crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked and soft on the inside. The vegetables are fresh and colorful with flavor. Made just the way your mother use to make on Sunday brunch. Pizzas have a ton of toppings to choose from and with a thin base made at the restaurant it is unique and delicious. The atmosphere is lovely for a night out with your partner or have some family-friendly bonding time. The fireplace gives the restaurant a homey feel.

Its a great neighbourhood brasserie. Great craft beer on tap. Good wine list. However you can take a bottle of your own wine in and just pay corkage. Its a good deal if you want a special wine. Prices a little steep but thats due to Covid I expect. I enjoy going there.

I’m seldom at a loss for words, but their Beef Fillet with Green Peppercorn sauce, gorgeous braised spinach and delectably smooth and luscious mash ... Well ... as far as my memory goes back, this was the best I’ve had.Every element of the dish - Sheer Perfection!AND THEN I had the Creme Brûlée... truly at a loss at how to describe it properly to convey its magnificence fully ...I’ve travelled through France and finished every meal with Creme Brûlée... those French chefs could learn something from the Chef here at The Brasserie!!Oh yes ... the Barista works magic too, even on my late night Decaf 👌🏼

My kids says this the pizza was one of the lekkerste pizza they have had.And they have a Monday Pizza special.

It had a lovely dark ambiance and plenty of space, though you can feel a bit crowded during busy times.Food quality is decent, but I didnt think it was value for money - especially the lamb chops, compared to fine dining restaurants in Cape Town.Pizzas are well-made and one of the more popular dishes.Very little diversity of the customers here - its reminiscent of a bygone and horrid era.There is no corkage for the first bottle of wine that you bring and there is also a full bar. Yes, they have craft beer.The toilet is upstairs and somewhat industrial - not what youre expecting when your bill flirts with R1 000.If you have a wheelchair, no luck with the bathroom though.On a personal note: Wait for the cheese on the pizza to cool before tucking in - it could end in tears.

The Brasserie always delivers! Slightly more on the expensive side but you wont feel it when you are presented with the yummiest meals! I was a bit sad that they removed the veggie burger (was my favourite) but apparently they are about to relaunch their menu! I hope they will think about adding more veg options as more people are becoming conscious eaters! Otherwise, was a pleasant evening.

Lovely litlle deli with lots of fresh products, specialising in baked goods. Having a nice meal out in the garden at the back is definitely worth it.

This was very nice place. Friendly service and very cozy. The food tasted very good. Steak was almost a bit too tender, missing some texture and taste. Waitress did do few mistakes for this level of restaurant (not pouring wine to all, no napkins etc.). But I do still recommend this place!

Had mothers day celebration at the top venue. Very private service.. kids had a ball.The meals were devine.

Went on Sunday for their Sunday roast. Huge portions, three roast meats plus vegetables. No buffet style but rather served directly to the table. Really good value. Great service as usual. Will definitely do it again

The food and wine were delicious as well as the service

We went here for the 1st time on 31st March 2019,with friends that were down from Australia and man were we impressed. We had the mussels starter which was so fresh with an amazing creamy sauce. We each had 4 different mains, from lamb chops, to pork belly, pizza and my fillet steak. Each meal was fantastic but specifically my steak:together with the pepper sauce-it could be the best steak I had in a very long time!The service was great as well and the full dining experience was pleasant. Keep up the great work guys!

Very reasonable prices. We did the burger half price special. We enjoyed merlot with burgers and salads for me and veggies for my dinner partner. Nice barbecue sauce one chicken one beef!

Best food and service in Tokai

The food was delicious but it took ages for us to get our meals! There did not seem to be a manager around and service was very poor/slow. We even had to go to the kitchen ourselves to find out what had happened to our desserts. Maybe Ill just get take aways next time. Do you guys do same day delivery?

Not the best, great venue and setting. However the food was very disappointing, besides the fact that my partner found 2 hairs in his salad. No manager came to the table to apologize, the waiter was great though. He kept on apologizing and was well informed and took ownership of the situation. Well done Ozzy. Not an establishment Id visit again.

We stopped here for a quick meal after a long day on our feet. New to the area we were delighted by the charm of the place not to mention the Delicious fillet steak dinner. Staff were very welcoming and lovely to chat to and the ambience was peaceful and serene. Good quality food and wine definitely to be recommended.

This place is excellent. The food is French- styled, accommodating local favourites and is always good. Service is excellent and the atmosphere is welcoming. Its in a small centre in a nice suburb so parking is convenient and safe. Its an enduring local favorite of ours.

A rare moment of pure awfulness. You can have a steak or a pizza. Both of them bad. Both of them horribly expensive. Its the restaurant equivalent of getting prison shanked

Very busy. Ensure that you make a booking. Mushroom risotto was astounding -best Ive ever had. Might need to park and walk. Waiter forgot about us for a little while, but we managed to track him down. Beautiful setting.

We had a great evening. Most of the food was delicious. One member of our party sent his rump steak back as it had lots of sinew. This was dealt with efficiently and professionally by JP our very capable waitron gor the evening.JP was attentive without being intrusive and when our choices werent available he directed us appropriately.We will definitely be back.

Waiters are friendly and tentative. Always a good dining experience. For the price of the meals Im always left a little wanting in terms of my food preferences. I prefer less roasted food. For me the vegetables are too heavily cooked which means much of the taste is lost.

My favourite solo date venue. Lucky to always get a table and then it gets packed.Love the decor too.

Rubbish food, poor service, slow and then to top it all the manager was aggressive with us.We needed to get to a show and after almost 30 min waiting for one simple main to arrive, we had to leave, so I asked to cancel the main and pay my bill. The manager was aggressive and made it very clear we had to pay for everything. So I asked for takeaway. This took another 5 min to get ready and the meal was a MESS. The burger was burnt, the roll was old, not toasted, no relish, with a half an avo just dumped in the burger, not sliced!My wife had potato skins, they were dripping oil and soggy, disgusting actually.Orange juice was cheap watered down stuff, generally overall an upsetting experience.

Although the venue is great and the service was good, the food was beyond disappointing. There was nothing positive to say about anything that came out of the kitchen..... really disappointing to say the least.

What a sad day when your number 1 local restaurant disappoint you, your family & friends. The service was non existent, the food was ‘served’ after 80 minutes, the normal quality of food was not provided. I trust the owners will review and strive to provide the service we have become accustomed too.

Love the outdoor Mediterranean garden feel, indoors is too dark for our liking. However, we have tried the lunch club offerings & the a la carte. It is has nice mix of pizzas, fish steaks ect with friendly service and we keep returning so it cant be bad.

Ibe been several times with extended family and again just with my wife and the food has always been excellent! My wife loves the warm atmosphere and setting - great Italian restaurant in the heart of the southern suburbs 👍

A real charming venue had warm decor on a cold day. The food was also good. Portion of pasta was a bit measly though.

I had the lunch special (R98). My selected meal was the Salt and Pepper Squid with a glass of the house white wine. The aioli and fries were to die for. Beautiful day so I was seated outside, under the canvas canopy.

Nice rustic feel to the place. I went here for a 30th birthday dinner and we constantly had 1 or more people checking on us. Quality of the food as well as the portions are good value for money.

Great chilled ambience and satisfyingly good and wholesome meals. Probably one of the most delicious cheesecakes Ive ever experienced. Whenever visiting Cape Town, its great to make an excuse to come through to the Brasserie and enjoy a slice!

This restaurant is amazing! The waitress was really friendly and knew what she was talking about, the food and atmosphere were great. The creme brulee is definitely something to rave about. Will definitely recommend and go there again.

Decided perhaps a bit late on a Friday evening to try this restaurant. Venue is beautiful and service was good. But unfortunately the food was very very disappointing. I had the Chicken au poivre - tired fried chicken breast with bland spinach and an inedible pepper sauce. The chips were even worse. Unfortunately, a friendly waitron doesn’t make up for bad quality food and the entire experience.

I ordered the cajun chicken breast and it was delicious! I also highly recommend the lemon curd cheesecake. The service was a little bit slow at the beginning of our seating but improved over the course of the night.

Went for lunch, had the hake and chips. Halfway through my fish, I noticed something weird in my hake batter. Left the hake and moved on to my chips, they tasted strange/powdery. Needless to say, didnt finish my meal. Paid, left and wont be back. May have had a better experience if I ordered something else. Nowadays we have a huge variety of restaurants and you dont have to eat at places where food is sub standard.
