Every visit to the Harlequin is an amazing experience. Being greeted by Americo and being served the most delicious food by the friendly and efficient watrons is just amazing. The Harlequin is really a Restaurant where old friends meet. One could not ask for a better place to just relax and unwind.

Absolutely great food and service. I know this restaurant that belongs to an Italian family since childhood when it also had a drive-in. The white bait starter was lovely and the famous Wiener Schnitzel perfectly prepared. Just be warned about the size. And it is served with veggies and a salad. An old time favourite. Highly recommended.

Best pasta Italian experience in Cape Town!

They make the best food i have ever tasted in my life . As well the tables and setup really has a good atmosphere. People are always friendly. The staff is very interactive as well America the owner of this restaurant i think he is a gift to man kind . There for i definitely recommend this restaurant . 5 star always in my opinion .

I enjoyed the food, but the service was abit slow. But my boyfriends oxtail was very average. The oyster is wild and very tasty.

A great little old school Italian restaurant. The exterior is not something that is going to pull a whole lot of people who are just driving by, but go in and you are transported back in time. A lot of the illustrations and decor has been there a very long time, but what has also been here is really great quality food and good service. Decent wines on the list as well. If you enjoy good food this is worth the visit.

Complimentary green salad with freshly baked rolls. The food is fantastic, the atmosphere even better. The wine great. Owner and staff is very friendly and attentive. Such a great spot to unwind and relax. Youll feel at home, but dont just take my word for it.

Celebrated my moms 70th birthday and had the seafood platter. It was absolutely delicious. My son had the rabbit dish and he loved it. Host was very kind and friendly. Will definitely be back.

With the quality of their food , it is no wonder that they are still going strong since 1965.Sure , the place looks probably still as it was then but if its traditional good Italian food youre after, then you will not be disappointed. Once seated we received warm homemade bread rolls and a complimentary side salad. They suggested the freshly caught kingklip for my partner and I went for the classic rabbit stew in a red wine sauce. Outstanding !As this was a midweek lunch , no time for anything else. With attentive service and a bill to smile about , we will be back soon.

An old family favorite. We have been frequenting this establishment for years and will continue to do so as the menu is always good value for money and reasonable priced in my opinion. Well worth a visit and I love the fresh warm bread rolls they serve on arrival. The silver cutlery and linen tabeth cloth also make it a more upmarket feel.

This is truly a gem. It is a real traditional Italian joint. The staff look like they have been there since the restaurant opened its doors. All the meals are made real old school but perfect if you really want that authentic Italian flavor. I’m amazed that they have made it through so many moons in Voortrekker road.

Cant beat Harlequin for that feel-good from the 60s vibe. Food is consistently top class and service is awesome - despite the fact that the restaurant is located in a seedy, semi-dodge neighbourhood. But dont let that put you off. They serve excellent Italian food. My family has been eating there for three generations.

Grew up going to the harlequin, best steaks around....recently revisited the restaurant and was horrified by the food on offer (new management perhaps? Cutting corners?)...Baby beef and fungi was the recommended dish...so I trusted the owners word only to be served a piece of boiled meat with a watery sauce. Sadly I will never visit the harlequin again. Pitty.

Cape Towns hidden jem in vootrekker road the decor is magnificent strait from Hollywood classics.. if you thought you saw Sophia Lorren chatting to local you might not be far wrong. Great origenal menue even tripe on the menue if your tastes are classic or adventurous Harlequin is a time warp of great class old school nostalgia and quality hospitality..

I heard that this is the place to eat. I was highly disgusted by the way we were treated at this restaurant. Our menus were not the same, the waiters did not know what some of the dishes were, and definitely had no idea of how to treat customers. Our steaks was of such a poor quality and the bill prices and the menu prices was totally different. Would not recommend this restaurant to anybody.

The decor hasnt changed much in 53 years this place has been going so I love the retro feel and the owner, Amerigo, is always on hand to ensure quality.

Owner involved in the running and checking up regularly if everything is ok with his visitors. Secure parking with a guard off Voortrekker. Only complaint is that it is not very child friendly for toddlers.
