As always when in capetown i stayed at this nice place . The rooms and common areas are very clean and staff is very friendly and helpfull. I was very happy to meet some international travellers in this hostel. See you the next time.

Good stay staff relaxed environment unfortunately cold as weather had the pool closed cant wait to visit when its warmer.

Poor service at the bar, I ordered 2 burgers and chips. I waited over an hour, only to find out that they didn’t even start making it. When I paid the guy gave me no receipt, I then proceeded to ask for one and he said I don’t need one.Finally after having to complain and back track the order, only then did they say they’d make it.One of the guys making and serving the food, was helpful, apologetic and managed to sort out the problem.

PRO: Initial impressions are that its very modern, cutting edge with its security and consistent with the theme and furnishings. An ample amount of tours/activities take place during the day. The staff are incredibly helpful.The pool connects with the bar, making for a great looking area.CONS: Not much negatives to be honest. The laundry service could be a little cheaper but Im nitpicking here. This is a great hostel.

First very nice front desk,the first day there they walked me to the room and show me everything. In the weekday they host different activities I participated a group hike to lions head. It was awesome the guy is very nice and I got to meet different people there. They also have 24/7 security I feel very safe at the time I was staying there. I lived in a 4 people room the bathroom is very clean all my roommates are nice. I’m really recommend here.

What a wow place!!! I would love to spend a holiday myself there. My mom (73) stayed there over the weekend of the Cape Cycle Tour 2020 and at first she was not very keen about the place, but after the weekend she booked again for next years Cape Cycle Tour. She loved the place and the friendly service and assistance she received from the staff. There is a lot of info regarding tours, events and places to see that anyone can feel @ Home and they will enjoy their holiday.

Great staff first off. Huge hostel that allows separation from the party scene if you don’t want that. On site bar, restaurant, outdoor/small pool area. I was in a 4-person dorm only complaint is the metal type bunk beds that squeak and move every time someone gets in and out of them. But each bunk has a light/power outlet/small locker and big locker below. Location is decent, walkable to the waterfront and CBD. I would say it’s closer to a 4.5 but google doesn’t let me.

Very clean and comfortable rooms. Nice staff and vibes near the bar and pool. Price/rate is amazing. Location also very central and easy to access anything in Cape Town. Recommended and I would go back when I visit again.

Never@Home Definitely stands out to me as the best travel hostel of 2019 in South Africa! They offer a lot more than just a bed and the usual atmosphere of a good hostelThey have a full on activity co ordinator and and they can arrange your entire trip in and around Cape Town!!It was exciting to see them in action. The rooms were clean.Best location in the city by far!!!!Great place to meet new people and to have the best holiday of your life

Terrible staffing attitude and unprofessional. Melissa a staff member was very rude and refused me entry to the premises because o asked if could store my luggage while I go the ATM. I have emailed management and will see what happens.

Excellent...if traveling in a large group, price is economical...they also offer cozy suites for couples, I wont share on that as I havent experienced that yet.

Its a really nice hostel for meeting people and party I think. Weve been there at off season so it wasnt busy at all. But there is a nice supermarket and a few restaurants just next door. And a parking space in front of the hostel. We had an amazing time there and the crew is very friendly. The rooms look nice and are very clean. Its not in the city center but very close to the WA Waterfront whats also an amazing place. To get food and walk around.

Never@home is definitely a home away from way. The staff is super helpful and friendly and professional. The entire establishment is a notch above all other backpackers Ive experienced. Their facilities are clean. The rooms are neat and caters for your needs. It was definitely a 5 star experience. Its location lends itself to being accessible to all Cape Towns entertainment Hotspot and its directly opposite Cape Town Stadium. I will definitely use it again and again 😊

Very awesome hostel! Walking distance to the V&A Waterfront. Very fun and welcoming. Also it is very modern and clean with individual night lights, outlets, and safes to lock valuables. Definitely would book again.

Very nice hostel. Great location and facilities. The Randy Warthog, an on premise bar, is the smokers haven. Beds are comfortable with USB charging outlets. Showers are hot. Breakfast is good. The staff is friendly and helpful. The guests are young and lively. Recommended.

Not too bad. Mainly for young tourist in the city. But if youre an elderly person with a young heart and mind... Then go for it by all means. I havent stayed there personally but i do recommend your business quite often as im a registered tour guide affiliated to cape town tourism. And sure you can contact me. Cheers

Pros: helpful staff, daily events(some free), tours desk, excellent security, lockers(own padlock), clean rooms, reading light and usb ports, onsite bar and food, great wifi across the hostel, amazing location, supermarket next door, loads of fridge space and cooking facilities, great hot showers and soap in the toilets and showers, pool table.Cons: swimming pool is more like a plunge pool... or a puddle, parking isnt free; laundry is very very expensive (R180); breakfast is nothing to write home about, best off trying the local cafesI would stay here again for surePlease like my review if it was helpful :) enjoy.

I absolutely love this hostel. The places is always clean, staff friendly. Unfortunately their prices are just becoming ridiculous considering its a hostel and you still share facilities. It is becoming unaffordable. Love that one can access the breakfast or the bar even though they are not booked there. Happy hour is a bonus Ofcoz.

Sorry to only review now, the wedding planning was a massive time consumer. Just wanted to say thank you for the extra mile for my Bachelorette Party. I told my friends about the awesome vibes, accommodation etc at your establishment and on arrival, they said it beat all their expectations. Cant wait to visit again,,,the ladies are now asking to go again as a girls weekend.....here we go again :)

Professional and tecnological. Very good location, twenty minutes walking to Walterfront, and a walkable distante to the beach/sea point promenade-good structure for walking. Always has a security guy in front of the hostel.Wide common area.However, the dormitory (for twelve people) is too small. Do not have enough space between the beds. Moreover, lack space for place the bags, resting only below the bed and in the middle of the room. It is a big mess!! Also the bunk bed are made from metal, which produced noise every time someone moves!Furthermore, the hostel is place in the Main road, and the traffic is always very loud.

Wow!!! what an amazing place to visit I booked in to experience it and yes from reception is the cleaning staff is just so friendly and helpful. All you should look at is to in future provide coffee 24/7 like all the other backpackers...That is all that I missed else all is available.. Thank you to all involved at Never @ Home

A great backpackers! The room was very comfortable and spacious with some added extra touches (kettle / TV etc.) Shower was a decent size and lovely and clean. Must say one of the nicest backpackers I have stayed in. Meals where reasonable should you wish or there is a lovely shared space to prepare your own.Everything is well run with a lovely little Cafe / Bar space and small pool to lounge by during the day- great location and not as noisy as most places in the city can be. Would definitely stay there again.

Really good hostel - modern, clean, great facilities, surrounded by supermarkets & restaurants, easy bus access. I was in a huge 14 bed dorm that was so big you didnt notice half the other beds. TIP: Dorms 201 & 204 had a power point and 2 lockers at each bed, with 2 aircons, but other dorms did not (or were very cramped), so ask to be moved if youre not happy.

A very clean and quiet place. Self catering or one can buy breakfast from their restaurant. Menu available and one can choose from there. Rooms are neat with toilets n bathrooms, cleaned daily. Waling distance from beach, greenpoint stadium and Waterfall.

A nice place to take family and friends. Situated on the Main Road. All sorts of transport available and accessible. Taxis(Uber, meter, local) and my Citi bus. Next to Green point stadium. 1km away from V & A waterfront. Restaurants and retail stores are a stone throw away. Next to a beach and virgin active. The facility has 2 bed, 4 bed and 8 bed roomed. Which have a shower and toilet. There is a Wart hog restaurant if one is lazy to cook or a shared kitchen provided with a kettle, stove, fridge, table, chair, pots and eating utensils. Well taken care of and cleaned twice daily.

Arriving to cape town after traversing this vast country from east to west my month long journey was coming to an end. I decided to choose this hostel as my base due the the location & weekly events that are held here from the cycling trips to the barbecue night on Wednesdays its truly a social hostel where groups & single travellers can have a great time. If your in need of a clean comfortable place to sleep then look not further.ROOMSI stayed in an air conditioned dorm with eight beds & en suite bathroom. I was one of the first to arrive in the room so naturally i opted for the best bed right next to the window overlooking one of the coolest & safest areas in the city.The bed had a super comfy mattress, light & power outlet with multiple usb’s so i could charge all my gadgets at the same time.Our en suite bathroom was super clean & wow what a shower.COMMON AREASThe main area is just off the reception with big communal tables, comfy chairs & multiple tv’s playing news & sport.The TV room is a great place to chill out & watch a movie with friends but the main area where most people hang out is the bar & pool area. Its the best place to cool down in the hot midday sun. Best hostel! Has dorms and private rooms so you can find wtever suits you. The hostel has a bar and a pool which is nice for meeting other people, also organizes BBQ, beer pong, etc.. and helps in any issue!There is a private parking which is recommended to use as we got all 4 of our wheel caps stolen. And is just above rocomama which has the best burgers!

Excellent managed by Mary Bisogno and friendly staff. Nothing was too much to help us park Cruiser and trailor with 6 cycling bikes, though we did not book parking!!!The whole setup is clean, clutter free and spacious with good lighting...great TV!!Each bed had its own electric connction with two ucb points, a small imbedded reading lamp, a space for book/tel/tablet , a safe which you could lock with your own padlock and above all a big drawer underneth the bed to pack bags and loose luggage!!!!Kitchen to die for..BIG refridgerators with glass doors!!!Will always come and stay here for the Argus...right accross the registration and Expo.A MUST PLACE TO STAY!!!

Nice staff, very simple rooms with no phone to call reception and no freezer. disappointing breakfast made only of eggs and bacon - no cheese, no ham, etc. alot of young people from all over the world and greatly located, near everything. I only miss the freezer and the breakfast was a real disappointment

This place is huge so there are many dorms or rooms to choose. The wifi is fairly good but needs a funny login system. The bar and restaurant are decent and staff helpful. Bathrooms are great.

This time around of my trip I basically just needed an affordable and safe roof over my head, a comfy bed, access to a clean kitchenette and shower and for all these categories this hostel easily score a 5star rating. However, my initial 2 star rating is based on the fact that this place have a limited working space which doesnt cater for people traveling for business or a student that needs to study. Their only working space is placed at the reception which is where everybody pass or sit for either breakfast or supper meals, which makes it quite uncomfortable for someone trying to work. I figured that the best time to make use of the working space undisturbed is from around 01:00 am (just after midnight), thats the time most people seems to be alsleep, BUT the downside is that the area is freezing cold during that time and no heating facilities for the working space.But other then that, its really one of the nicest 4-star rating hostels you can stay in Cape Town for holidays. Up to date I have personally stayed at 9 different packers and when I have to do comparisons I can tell you that this is not your average hostel as they have a touch of modern design in their dorms (I guess I can say a little combination of hotel and hostel).Staff are friendly, helpful and considerate and I like the fact that they take their guests reviews of the hostel seriously. l initially rated this place 2-star a day before my checkout (and this low rating have nothing to do with the hostel itself, but a lack of sufficient working space,) and one of the ladies actually took the time to question/to understand my rating which really makes their customer services of a 5 star class , and for that reason I changed my 2-star to 4-star as I had no doubt they will make changes if more guests find them to lack proper working space.
