Best service, owner is a gentleman including anele who is always there to assist including the lady at the desk

Stayed my first night, 4 weeks to go. Staff are extremely friendly and so are most of the residence.

Not bad, just tired of living out of a bag and trying to keep as quiet as possible when others make as much noise and do as they please. Next time or next life, I hope to stay at the 12 Apostles where you are seen as a King versus feeling like a 2nd rate citizen worrying if you used too much hot water.

This place is easily accessable and management and staff are excellent. Very respectfull and accommodating.

I would rate this place awful as I was treated so badly by the manager. I’ve travelled around and don’t mind where I stay. However the way the manager at this place made me feel so uncomfortable I would not recommend this place to anyone. Please find a more suitable place as manners and respect are foundations. They wouldn’t let me sleep properly, I was Harrased and he even called the police to kick me out just because he didn’t like me And when I said I’d leave give me a refund he didn’t want to he just wanted me to leave. Police couldn’t do anything as I had paid.Find somewhere safe and enjoy the cape otherwise lovely place.

Wow, from entering the gate I was escorted by a very friendly k9. Reception was just as exellent. I walked into reception and the lady called me on my name. Thank you to all the staff and management from Big Blue backpackers. I will be back very soon

I love the place

Well located, great rates, comfortable and warm beds, clean bathroom, kitchen and free breakfast. I was lucky enough to meet people who became great friends. Loved the relaxed atmosphere and staff, very accommodating to all and everybody. It is a place with a lot of attitude. Nice pool and free coffee!

Cool place with affordable prices. The receptionist was rude to me when I called to enquire about if there were space available and gave me the wrong info and pricing.Please get rid of him, you guys have a good thing going but he is not doing you any good.

I loved this place! The staff makes the place unique and makes you feel at home. Definately not 5* but such an enjoyable environment.

Ive been on so many different hostels in my life and Big Blue is the definitely the best! There arent even words enough to describe my love for this hostel. Decent little backpackers. The rooms and lodge itself were very clean and the room private enough. There is WiFi and free tea and coffee available. The bar is reasonably priced and there are a couple of good chill areas. The breakfast selection was pretty disappointing, but at least it was free in the deal we bought. Bring your own pillows, however! We only had one little down feather pillow each on our beds, and when we asked at reception if there were any more we were told no. So that was a bummer. But on the whole it was a decent place to spend the night.

The worst service that we have ever got.They double booked us and when the reception lady went to inform the owner, the owner told her that he doesnt have anything to do with it and that she must make a plan. We had to stay in separate rooms for the first night and only a day after did we get the room we booked for.We were given no compensation whatsoever for them inconveniencing us.The manager is so rude.Never ever coming there again!!

Well, the crew its very nice, the breakfast is awesome, the location is good, the rooms are comfortable, and u have a very big and nice kitchen to cook ur own food, I will recommend for everyone i shall meet.

Generally speaking, it did not feel very cozy. Beds weren’t that comfortable, shower was “ok” and while the rooms weren’t dirty, they weren’t clean either. I booked a tour through the hostel and when I arrived they were confused and disorganized, though did eventually figure everything out. Very average, but no serious flaws.

The service received by John & the Brazilian woman was excellent! A memorable experience indeed :-)

Once a year the 3 of us stay at Big Blue for one night to avoid the traffic traveling to the Sanlam Peace run. We just love the ambiance and the staff...

Wow. What a stay!!! I have made 3 friends for life at Big Blue Backpackers. One of the faces associated with the lodge was in prison on Robben Island with Nelson Mandela. The breakfast was amazing as well as the super fast Wi-Fi facilities. This lodge is a must visit for all.

Τhe owner is very rude. I stayed there for a week and I heard him several times yelling at his employees . I chose to buy an expensive tour to Namimbia and other countries through the hostel , but during the process of charging with the credit card, transaction wasnt going through for some reason I I didnt know. Then, instead of thanking me for choosing his business to book the tour, instead of doing it direct with the tour company, he started to Yell his lungs out at me in front of stuff and customers.I have never met a similar case in my many years of traveling. Besides him, the hostel is dirty, breakfast awful and stuff are unfriendly ,except Daniel.

The cheapest backpackers probably in Cape Town and for a place thats in the City cause its located in Green Point.Me and my girlfriend always prefer this Backpackers because you even get a proper breakfast For Free until 11 the morning and theyve good WiFi,Dstv,Internet, a cool bar,swimming pool,a big Kitchen and a safe Security gate and the Staff are very friendly.All of that just between R150 - 200 a night!!#BigBlueBackpackers_GreenPoint.
