If you want to eat at Andalousse, drive past this branch in Woodstock and go straight to the one in Sea Point. Sea point Andalousse has a waiter to start with. This branch is not worth going to.Andalousse Woodstock is really disappointing, lacking with service, 1 star for service, at least he got the order, hardly any communication from the person there.Disappointed at this branch. The place looks dark, needs some TLC, tables and menus dont look cleaned. The lights werent put on. We sat anyways. One person behind the counter who is also the waiter, he was not helpful or friendly. There was no placemats, food ordered was brought out incomplete, starter without flatbread, we had to ask for spoons, extra plates and ask for our tea after all food was already brought out. Food was okay, but not as well presented as Sea Point. Wish I went there instead. Road parking is available outside,Woodstock area has many people loitering outside, even though police station is opposite, I ddnt feel Safe there. Employee was more interested in watching movies on his laptop than checking on us. Wont go back again.
I love Andalousse Woodstock... the staff are friendly and the food is awesome the biscuits are to die for. You get value for your money on all their dishes.
Absolutely amazing. Enjoyed everything they have. I recommend that everyone experience some Moroccan culture here.
Eating out is one thing, but authentic food is so much better than when someone is trying to replicate it and Andalousse is definitely authentic. The waiter Hasan is also authentic he was struggling to write my order in English and I could see he used to writing in Arabic. . . It was funny but not in a demeaning way and he was making fun of himself as well. The food never disappoints, its always amazing. How would one know if the food is authentic? Try it. . . If your taste buds are like wow, but what what exactly is this. . .? Its surprisingly tasty but the combination of flavours are exciting and weird at the same time. . . Then you know. . . It also helps if you were in Morocco before. . . But the owners are definitely Moroccan so you can rest assured youre getting the authentic experience. . . Even the seating arrangements are low to the ground as in Morocco. . . But dont take my word. . . Go give them a try. . . Their pizza is amazing, just a FYI, if youre unsure of what to try. . .
Small establishment with limited menu options. Food portions are deceptively massive and the food overall is good considering the price. I would recommend getting the tea and asking one of the staff to pour it out, really fun and unique touch. Also get starters or appetizers as you may wait a bit until mains arrive.
We keep going back to Andalousse. The place is laid back with no frills, the service is unobtrusive, the food is so mouthwateringly delicious every single time weve been, the prices are reasonable and it still delights me every time our waiter pours our mint tea from up high. Andalousse is our family favorite.
AMAZING Moroccan food!! Everything from the mezze to the lamb tagine was so tasty. The lamb fell right off the bone and the flavor was great. The garlic bread was SO good, it was perfectly crispy on the outside and flakey and doughy on the inside. The environment is also super comfy and chill. Would definitely recommend.
Awesome vibe! The food was absolutely delicious and hit all the right places in my heart.Excellent service from all the waiters and the owner himself personally saw to our satisfaction.Interestingly it had many vegetarian options to choose from.I would recommend this place to anyone in need of some chilled down times with friends over some Moroccan mint teaor even an intimate date night. Loved it!
Atmosphere fantastic. Food extremely delicious. Lovely Moroccan mint tea. They serve delicious biscuits with your tea. Definitely returning very soon. Service excellent dont have to wait long for food.
Love the food especially the lamb shank it just fell off the bone
When I was living in Cape town with my mother, a few months before she passed on. I used to come here about twice a week. Once alone so that I could enjoy a meal totally on my own and that was usually for lunch. Then I often came with friends in the evening if I had a babysitter for my mother.I have found memories of this place.Sean T
Really enjoyed this Moroccan restaraunt. You can easily miss its location however once inside you are greeted by various Moroccan elements of decor which is really nice. Has a nice atmosphere. The food is really good, started with a hearty soup and bread. And ordered a Tagine. If you want a kind of authentic Moroccan mint tea experience, this is the place. The tea pouring and procedure is quite nice, makes you feel like you in Morocco
Food portions were huge. Some friends and I ordered 3 main dishes, one lamb, chicken and mixed skewers with 2 portions of naan bread. We were all really full and satisfied. The sweet green tea was absolutely amazing. The lamb and chicken were so tender and juicy! Absolutely a must go if you are into Moroccan food. Ambience was very comfortable and service was good!
The sweet tajine is one of my favourite meals of all time, and of course you have to have some Moroccan mint tea
Best kept secret! Such an authentic experience and really excellent value for money!
Its a good stop resturent. I visited for Only Tea. But ven and non veg food options available.
Delicious food, with excellent hospitality from the owner. Many options to choose from including vegetarian. A bit of a hidden gem if you’re looking for authentic Moroccan / Arab food, that hits the palate just perfectly.
Nice food waw
What a lovely place and the owner was really welcoming. The food is tasty and fresh and the experience is really different to what I expected. The location is not great but once you get inside you forget what it looks like outside.
There food is always delicious and of a high quality.
Food is great, mixed kebabs and lamb tajine are a great combination.
Me and my colleagues thoroughly enjoyed the meal and tea at this establishment, Alhamdulillaah. 👌👌👌
Great affordable food, warm Morroco decor/atmosphere and in a cozy unassuming setting.
Excellent Moroccan cuisine and very reasonable too. The mezze and the tagines are delicious.
Horrible Experience!!!The service is absolutely terrible and we were served by a more and more incompetent server as the night went on.Our food was brought in sporadic intervals and the order was not complete...30 minutes into the dinner delivery the drinks finally arrived, which was incomplete and missing a few drinks, which arrived 15 minutes later (please note, these were all soft drinks and required no special preparation). An hour after having received all of the dishes in different intervals the last order was not delivered to our table, on enquiring, we were informed that they had NOT EVEN STARTED making the order!!!They then proceeded to invoice us after having reached the limits of my frustration and asking for the bill... the invoice brought to the table was completely incorrect and require 30 minutes of back and forth to fix the bill because the manager completely avoided having to deal with us and sent a server to try and deal with our concerns. We left after having experienced what truly was the worst service experience I have every experienced in a restaurant. The worst part of all of this was that the food was not nearly good enough to warrant any service issues!Honestly, give this one a skip and spend your money elsewhere!!!
Food was Amazing Atmosphere Fantastic will go back soon
Interesting Moroccan restaurant with tasty food, great service and huge portions. The waiter advised us not to over order! Worth a visit if you want something different and spicy.
For an authentic and affordable Moroccan experience this is the place to be.
Amazing food, fresh and beautifully prepared. The staff are extremely hospitable and friendly. A complete local gem offering authentic flavors transporting you to a new world...if you havent, then its a must visit!!! 100% worth it...5 stars
Food is very, very good. Delicious mint tea. Portions are large but one can order half portions as well. Will be returning for sure.
Andalousse is a little gem in Woodstock. Tucked away at the back of a doctors rooms, it is easy to miss the entrance. Once you do find it, however, you will be rewarded with honest and authentic Moroccan cuisine which looks and tastes delicious. Dont miss the delightful mint tea and biscuits! Curries tend to come in huge portions - we found that we could have easily shared one curry in two. Other dishes are more reasonably sized.
When I arrived at the place. It really didnt look like much and actually had doubts about going in as the outside does not looks so nice. However, once we were inside the atmosphere was different and the food was delicious and totally worth it. I would recommend that if Andalousse is on your mind then you should definitely try it. Im definitely going back and Ill be a regular there.
One could drive past this place without giving it a second look, but beyond the nondescript storefront you’ll be greeted with a cosy restaurant resplendent with Moroccan paraphernalia. A veritable piece of Morocco and certainty one of the Mother City’s precious gems. We were treated to mouthwatering authentic Moroccan dishes that delighted the palate. The place can get busy, so be prepared to wait. If it’s authentic Moroccan cuisine you’re after, I highly recommend that you pay this eatery a visit.
Lovely place and brilliant Morrocan food.
Best experience ever! I was visiting Woodstock for a week and this place was across the street from where we stayed. Delicious, fresh, made to order from scratch. Flavorful and you get so much food for little money. The owners are also welcoming and super kind!
Passed this place without noticing. From the outside it doesnt look very inviting. Authentic Moroccan ambiance as you enter. Food is incredible. The chicken tagine is must-try. Tea is served with traditional bakes. You know the food is amazing when the car guards outside would rather you give them leftovers than money
Mint tea was amazing! Truly authentic Morrocan vibe to the place as well.
Amazing , amazing, amazing! If i could give more stars i would, portions are huge, food is flavourful, staff soooo friendly. My new favourite place
Awesome experience and tasty food. Friendly staff... Definately worth a visit. Just the areas is hairy but the restaurant is across from a police station, so it offers some comfort. Parking is an issue so maybe use a taxi service. No alcohol served here, but the service and food overshadows all of this...
One of Cape Town’s most delicious ethic restaurants a true gem with fresh ingredients brought every day... with a fabulous new premises in Sea Point it’s a location not to be missed by tourist and local alike...
Such a humble and authentically Moroccan spot. The food was 🤤. So delicious, big portions. So worth it.
I came upon this enchanting little restaurant tonight by chance. Its not in an area i generally come to much. But Ill be coming back as soon as possible! The food is superb! Better than Ive tasted at many of the more fancy, expensive restaurants in now up-market areas. Nottomention about half the price. I cant wait to be back!
Amazing Authentic Moroccan Food!!If you are craving something different and/or have a taste for Moroccan food then DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE. The food was absolutely wonderful. We started with Moroccan Mint tea. It came with some traditional cookies which were made in house and tasted so good. Next, we had the Pastilla and it was so good. For our main course we ordered the Chicken Couscous and Chicken Tagine, easily enough for 4 people to share. Both dishes tasted amazing and were so full of flavor. My husband is Moroccan and I have been to Morocco several times and hands down this is the best Moroccan food outside of Morocco. Don’t be put off by the location. Sometimes the best places are in the not so best locations.
Great food good service. Lovely atmosphere. Central location. Specially loved the tea and cookies after. 😊
Food is fresh delicious and reasonably priced.
Authentic Moroccan food. The food is delicious with a good range of options for vegetarians and omnivores alike. Seating is at low tables. Theres a TV playing Moroccan and other African music, but it takes away from the overall charm of the place. The sweet mint tea is a must.
Food very delicious. Value for money. Generous portions Friendly atmosphere Can do with better seating though.
Nice traditional Moroccan food. The food was delicious and the guys there were welcoming and friendly.
Great tasting, good quality food. Family type restaurant without unnecessary frills. Certainly very glad we tried it out and we will be back for more! We had a variety of food and all of it was quite delicious.
Love the food at this restaurant! Its so delicious. Certain dishes require more waiting time but the quality of the food is worth the wait. Mint tea after the meal is a must 👌
Service great.. Atmosphere very friendly.. Food excellent.. Will definitely go again..
Awesome AUTHENTIC Moroccan food (and I know about it Iam from their neighbor country.) Owner is a great chef and his wife makes the delicacies you enjoy with your nice Moroccan tea. Its worth every bite you take!! Just a pity they are too small for the demand... One fall back of their success I guess!
Excellent. Never dissapoints.
Good ambience small though. Good food different from the run of the mill establishments.....
Food was great. Atmosphere not really my scene. Could do with a decor update
Food was delicious, awesome vibe to the place and they had prayer facilities which is always bonus definitely would like you to try this place
Wow!,so many reviews!I stumbled upon this restaurant during the woodstock open road event, with my family. The host was most gracious in attending to us, with fresh tea, cookies, put out to us to enjoy. He even rustled up a cup of coffee for my wife, even though he says they dnt really do coffee..My wife is not that easily impressed with coffee I might ad.Mains portions where huge, from lamb tajine, mixed kebaabs to chicken shwarmas for kiddies. The place was beautifully setup, and mint tea was good, with seating the only reason for 4 stars.I could not get my knees under the table,so eating was a bit tricky, for me.I would go again, and would recommend the Moroccan experience.Ps.It is situated directly opposite the woodstock police station,so you feel safe during your dining experience.
Best food in town!!
The restaurants location evokes some doubt about the standards but we were meeting friends who invited us. The food was amazing in terms of quality, presentation and taste. We definitely going to be back for more. The seating is limited so book in advance.
Easy, chilled vibes
