The noise surrounding the building is unbearable. They literally built this student accommodation by the taxi tank, constant hooting of taxis, chatter, loud radios being played by people promoting their music during weekend. Despite the rooms being the same as they advertised, this place makes studying so difficult!!!!

My stay at My Domain was not pleasant at all. I wouldnt recommend it to anyone.

There is noise around the area, and it just never stops. If you are looking for a quiet place, My Domain Wynberg is not for you. It gets really busy on the road once you exit the building, so one might feel unsafe.

Its a nice student accommodation in Wynberg. A bit far from campus but they have shuttles that operate Monday to Friday. It has an industrial urban interior design of the rooms and cool chill spot and gym. Really affordable accommodation. Its situated in a very busy place though so you will have to adopt to the noise from outside but its really safe inside the building.

I have been living at my domain for the past 10 months and I must say that I have enjoyed it. Usually when you are looking for student accommodation and its in a place where it is far from home, you rely on the pictures you find on the website and what I have seen with most of the affordable student accommodations around Cape Town when I was looking online ,I have found that the pictures on their websites were misleading. But with My Domain, what you see on the website is exactly how it looks like. Its affordable , its very convenient, they have shuttle services that get you to your learning institutions and its student friendly. I would recommend My Domain to anyone who is looking for affordable yet comfortable student accommodation.

Its a student accommodation. Dont judge it from the outside, inside its peaceful. Theres a gym, laundry room and tv rooms, they also have a very nice lounge area where you can also host your guest and play pool as well.

Its a very comfortable place, it may look a bit dodgy from outside but inside its better than youd think. My Domain offers free shuttle to universities along main road as it has shuttle stops and those in town too are catered for. There is uncapped wifi for as a student that is a major need. Theres a cafe downstairs that caters for dinner too and its home cooked meals. Theres a gym, recreation area and laundromat.

The staff is extremely friendly, the place is perfect for students in Cape Town, loved the fact that there is a free shuttle to campus. Zero disturbance, making it so easy to study. Absolutely loved it

It is great. I am loving it but I make sure to remain inside coz the surrounding area doesnt look so good, especially to outsiders. It is excellent on comfort though, beautiful lounge and theres a gym even

Coming from JHB its extremely hard to find a place as advertised.My experience with My Domain encompassed professional service from application to viewing, all images and videos were spot on.The shuttle can run late at times but its seen daily around the Southern Suburbs. Its truly rare to go to a place where needs can be met as the private ownership, allows for rapid change or results.I would recommend My Domain.

My Domain is a very safe student accommodation because it has tight security, it is a quite place with much needed privacy,it is such a clean place.

Not suitable for students. Its in a very noisy area, far from campus. Crime is also a thing, you cant be walking to the store around midnight to get your midnight snack.But overall, its beautiful inside. Its only the outside that is terrible.

Sub-par accommodationOne Star for the Shuttle and another star for the staff (securities, cleaners and shuttle drivers)But the reality of My Domain Student Living;1. My first room flooded continuously. Subsequently mold grew along the walls. I thus spent valuable studying time scrubbing the walls down with bleach. I developed a chest infection due the mold. After weeks of arguing with management I was moved to a new room.2. My new room then had an insect infestation that occurred from the buildings ventilation.3. Management would add clauses to the lease which you did not agree to but could not dispute. Furthermore, the lease is structured in such a way that you can not give notice and leave without losing your deposit. A method to trap you in the nightmare.4. Incredible amount of empty promises, ie: Laundry machines that have been order yet in my 12 months of living there, did not arrive.5. Location speaks for itself.The people who awarded a high amount of stars are employees of My Domain and did not live there.Unless you are desperate, Do not sign a lease with My Domain Living..

Provides bare minimum necessities. Not in the safest area but great for students who want their own private space. Fairly good facilities (gym, laundromat, etc.). Has a lot to improve on but good enough so far.

Absolutely shocked at how they treat other peoples belongings. I paid for my month of rent and they removed my sons desk and broke it completely.And very quickly to charge for paint etc but when we moved in it wasnt painted or cleaned. Not impressed at all. And a dodgy area.

Am very social person, always with people and Ive always put other people first so being at my domain helped me to spend time with myself and love my own company.

Nice and comfortable inside for basic needs of a student, wifi, laundry, gym facilities and shuttle service . But the area is not safe, dirty and noisy. People selling drugs on the street. Its a bit far from uct. 20-30min to and from campus

The idea behind this place is good but the reality is more shocking. The images are deceiving and the marketing skills here are well practiced (Ive added photos of what a room REALLY looks like before you move in). Hold onto your money and rather invest it in a different place! So here it goes:1. Smell the fresh air & admire the scenery!The street runs with piss and trash, and it is unsafe to step outside. Massive taxi rank, drugs & pubs. Delightful!2. Complaints or suggestions are received with a smile & bow-tied with a promise - and then often nothing happens & excuses come rolling (Okay, sometimes they listen...when the complaints start piling up...you alone dont matter)3. Sleep well, my friend, because doors are slamming & hinges are screeching, taxis are hooting, pedestrians are screaming around, residents are misbehaving, and walls are paper-thin.4. Warm & snugly. Did I mention that the units are freezing? Concrete everything & metal windows. Oh but please stay within this guideline as to which heaters you can & cannot use!5. Here! Have some free water! Leakage sifting through the ceiling from pipes or rain is to be expected. (Cheap building material - enough said)6. But first & foremost: Please have fun & enjoy your student life. Your friend wants to sleep over for the night? Well, since its not the weekend yet, thatll be R150.00 ... Oh hold on. You didnt give us a weeks notice that you spontaneously wanted to have a little sleepover, so we couldnt run their personal info through the FBI database and therefor cant let them in... #sorrynotsorry7. At least SOME of the staff is kind & assist when and where possible *thumbs up*8. Trapped sweat particles really give you that wonderful glow and a chance to test your sense of smell.....Who builds a gym without windows?

For the location, far from the university, the rent is too high. The location is not lugubrious. Parking is extortionate, and there are no other parking options close by. But the management and staff are friendly and helpful.

I have to acknowledge and applaud Caroline Jane Coates, for rating her workplace so highly.Lets start of with a few positives. The staff at My Domain, specifically the cleaners, security, drives, and the head of maintenance and his crew have been the only beacon of light in the disaster that is my domain living.However I will not be able to end this review on a positive note. The shuttle is less than reliable because of the awful location of my domain, it takes roughly 45 minutes to travel to UCT or back. Secondly, as My Domain has been built as cheaply as humanly possible, during the winter rains most rooms flood and this means that living is not nearly as easy or comfortable as they advertise. Thirdly, it seems that the other half of the equipment (washing machines and tumble dryers) for the laundromat have been put on to the My Domain custom made 24 seat bus, and been lost down the tunnel of all their other empty promises. Furthermore, the management of My Domain add to the rules, and add clauses which you may not dispute, at their leisure.To conclude, I must applaud the sales team for managing to play on desperate students needs and trick them into an inflexible lease agreement whereby you can not cancel your agreement no matter how many months notice you give them. I would not recommend My Domain living as suitable student accommodation.

I you like lots of hooting and the smell of a taxi rank, then its the place for you.Otherwise is ok, slow elevator (really slow), nice little gym, not too bad considering

Its horrible to say te least.The hallways are nicely looked after but the actual room look like a warehouse.The area dont allow any silence to students, hich make learning hard.The administration staff are really unhelpful and rude, they dont actually care about the residents, they seem to be forgetting who is paying.The security inside the building are reliable but cant say the same about the security at the entrance, very easy to gain access to building even without a key card.

I stayed in unit 110 for 1 night and found out pretty quickly that they forgot to tell you theres a taxi rank at the front door of My Domain. There was also a shebeen/pub right outside my window where a fist fight broke out at about 11 at night. There was also no ventalation at all. Really humid and uncomfortable inside my unit which was only on the second floor. The interior of the unit was 5 star quality though. Really nice sleek look to it. Immediate area of this accomodation says it all though. Stay away.

The is great student accommodation, but the surrounding area / neighbourhood is very messy and crowded with street vendors. It appears back-street.

If this is your last option, go for a 6 month lease. Really nice if you have never seen the better end of places for the same price, but the security team I give a 6/10, rooms a 4/10, entertainment such as pool tables etc. I give a student rating (no more). Safety of area taking into account what Ive seen outside these walls... 2/10, inside these walls 8/10, gym 7/10, rules and regulations, 4/10 (since some are over forced and some are not even inforced). Student in the build, taking into account noise, misbehaviour, littering, etc. I say there are pretty good at those, friendliness of students and compliance towards eachother 10/10. A non stop party if you are looking for that.... over all I myself am going to look for a new place at the end of the year, but if you have no other choice. I would recommend living here, but not studying/learning in or around living quarters. Best place is the 7th floor or in your car if you have one. Hope this rating helps your decision.

Its a nice place for students to stay but the street behind My Domain Wynberg, church street in not safe because alot of robbers happened there because a tarven is also in that same street

A very convenient place for students looking for accommodation, public transportation is minutes away making it very conducive for students and theres also busses dropping you at the resident, the rooms inside are just so adorable everything inside it so much easier your kitchen bathroom and bedroom in one place but in a very stylish and comfortable manner its not stuffy at all theres a gym down stairs for students and obviously the best thing is theres also wifi and a laundry place theres a gaming area too and the gyms have tv so you can gym at your own comfort 😊

I loove this place aloot..its homly ! Fully furnished rooms with a wide range of room size selection. All the facilities in tact and alot of fuun with friends. I love it

My experience was amazing, the service was great and the accommodation suited my every need. I would recommend My Domain to everyone.

Look if you have literally nowhere else to go than this place is fine. But be warned its in an unsafe and aesthetically displeasing area. The WIFI is not always reliable and the buses only really work well if youre a UCT student. Son just dont.

Dont do it to yourself unless you are a hardcore drug dealer, because that is who you will be surrounded with. Absolutely dreadfull area to live in.

The internet is very slow and inconsistent in some areas, the furniture (bathroom pod, cupboards) are of poor quality and wear off very easily-so expect to be charged for damages, the location is very busy, unsafe and terribly noisy (due to a taxi rank and bar/shebeen right next to the building) and the shuttle is often late (expect to spend about 45min+ trying to get to UCT and Damelin in the morning) and doesnt run during the weekend. The place flooded really badly on a few incidents. The lounge area and vending machines are good though.

Amazing Student Residential Development - great location with easy access to all of Cape Towns learning institutions ,good selection of rooms from studios to twin rooms each with own bathroom. Hi-Speed Wifi, large on site rec areas with DSTV, pool table, onsite laundry, 24-hour security, secure underground parking.

Place was great idea but not excited very well

My personal experience has been bad from the start. I had a problem with my room flooding from the shower with urine and fecal matter from other rooms on my floor. The staff tried to attend to my situation as best as they could but were not able to help fix the problem permenently. The bus is also often late and doesnt not use the full schedule given to the students

Probably the worst location for a student residence. Next to a noisy and seriously dodgy taxi rank. Because of the taxi rank, traffic gets wildly busy during rush hours.

Internet connection can be bad sometimes. Otherwise a nice place with a gym, lounge area and laundry place.
