Yes for the staying in the town houses but definitely NOT through DE WATERKANT COTTAGES&APTS!Apartments are mostly nice with unique vibe but make sure all entrances are treated with anti cockroach chemicals as there are loads of them in the area. The office though makes your stay so annoying. I travel a lot and I have never been bothered with so many visits, emails, messages, Terms and Conditions to agree with which secures them but not you and allows them to keep your deposit for no reason after you treated the place with care and respect. Employees are nice people but pushed to comply with all ridiculous rules by the owner Richard who is basically rude and doesnt even care to say good morning to the guests while in the office.

Set within the national heritage area of De Waterkant one feels like a tourist in Europe. Cobbled stone streets and multi coloured houses complete the picture perfect experience. Within walking distance of the well-known Cape Quarter shopping centre which includes a supermarket and several other interesting shops, galleries, salons, spas and excellent restaurants.

Great apartments so beautiful with modern design. Our apartment in Loader 24 street was magnificent, we had 3 huge bedrooms with to bath and shower with exit to very nice terrace. The second floor contains the living room and kitchen also very big, with exit to terrace and from there you can go the the roof that contains a small pool and whirlpool. The best apartment we visit in South Africa.

Hidden Gem! We are a family of 4 and we stay at the De Waterkant Cottages ever time we go to Cape Town. Everything is stunning: the cottages, the views, etc. location is great (walking distance to everything), the service is amazing and staff very pleasant.I would absolutely recommend!

My family booked a cottage for several days and it was lovely to stay here. The accomodation is incredible. The home décoration is made with very good taste. The neighbourhood around the cottage is also lovely, and its always good to see many people. The rooftop is really nice and the jacuzzi is perfect to chill while watching the incredible cape town and moutains view. Also the beds set are really nice and comfy.

If you book you do not know exactly which room you get! We had the misfortune to get an apartment that has practically no window or had a shading sliding door. For one night it was not longer !! Absolutely on booking ask which room !!!

TO FLEE!!What to start with?Ideal city center location, its true, but for gays or a group of young people. Family with children who are also young absolutely avoid this area. Some security guards (having for only weapon a walkie talkie go to understand) are present in the delimited district Waterkant. If you go beyond this perimeter and you will pass it quickly believe me ... it will be at your own risk. The Spar at the corner of the street seems ideal for doing extra shopping but thats not to mention the high number of homeless people who will be present when you leave. We got robbed during the day at the Spar. Robbery with the weapon I specify.A Dutch couple had been held up in the same place the day before that is to say.Balance € 2,800 taken from their account € 1,600 on ours.Lynn from De Waterkant cottages expressed no surprise when we told her we had all been robbed. Not even to ask how we were doing and if we needed the phone to contact our bank. No empathy added to no surprises. Its reassuring...Regarding the villa we were staying at 2 Bayview Terrace. At first glance, very beautiful villa, everything is high tech ... a little too much!An eternity to understand how a microwave works, led lights that do not work, a jacuzzi supposed to be heated to 35 which is barely to 28 degrees (no interest), no heating in the living room, no water hot at the end of the day (we are a family with a 19-month-old child I specify anyway), a swimming pool and a terrace giving on an access where there is a lot of passage and where NO guard never passes (they do not exceed Street and are most of the time on their cell phones), Bose speakers that did not work which deprived us of a TV for 3 days (out of the 5 days that constituted our stay), paid wifi that we refused to pay, a daily cleaning certainly but so approximate (a piece of chips from the previous tenants had still not been thrown away during our entire stay), unchanged sheets, towels stained and / or with holes, the king-size bed in the master bedroom absolutely uncomfortable where you feel to us the springs of the mattress (much prefer the lower beds) and finally the staircase light which categorically refuses to go out.To sum up a lot of seeming for nothing. In Lynns defense, she was always there when we needed it and I can assure you we needed it! But his incompetence that first made us laugh quickly became annoying.Be careful, remember to check what you have in the refrigerator during check-in because at the end of your stay the cottage will want to charge you for things that you absolutely did not take and that were not present! Scandalous. In short, a team of broken arms to manage these cottages. An extremely DANGEROUS neighborhood when you go outside the perimeter, and totally unnecessary equipment.A word of advice, favor the much more secure Camps Bay district, very pretty with a lot of nice restaurants and a wonderful beach.FROM WATERKANT cottages TO FUIR !!!!!
