My mother was admitted to this care facility with covid pneumonia early September and was discharged 3 weeks later. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the staff at Brackengate Intermediate Care Facility. My mom was on a special diet, received physiotherapy, we had a video call from one of the social workers and very awesome nursing staff. The patients who were unable to get up would be bathed each day. She claims that she had 5 star treatment. Even the food was top-notch. The doctors would call every second day with an update. Would be great to see the rest of our public hospitals get up to these standards. Forever grateful! Thank you!

My mom was admitted to Brackengate Intermediate Care Facility on 21 August 2021, we spoke to her and everything was fine besides that she kept saying that she was very tired. The following morning the doctor I cant remember his name, called me and told me that my mom is very sick and that we had to prepare ourselves for bad news, we spoke to my mom after that call(it had me in tears because why dont this man have any compassion in this voice)we did not tell my mom what the doctor told us. The following day 23 August 2021 we tried to get hold of her for the whole day, we called the hospital and every time they will told us that they cant give us any information and that we should wait for the doctor to call us, the doctor called my brother past 9 that evening informing him that my mom passed away 19h00 already...why did they wait so long to inform us about her passing, the reviews that are given about this place have me confuse because how can you treat the one person good and the others bad....I said and will say it again if anyone is responsible for my moms death, you will not go unpunished, we serve a God who is faithful.

My grandmother was admitted in July ,she had received the most amazing treatment from the staff .Doctors calling us every second day to inform us of her condition, the nurses an admin staff always so friendly and willing to go the extra mile when we called even the security, thank you from the bottom of heart ❤

My mom was transferred to this facility from False Bay Hospital. She was Covid-positive and because of her disease and her fragile physical state, she is not physically mobile. I must be honest and say that each day that passed with her there, I was anxious about her well-being and morbidly expected the dreaded call to say that she had not made it.I fetched my mom after more than a week at the facility and questioned her about the level of service she received. She had nothing but praise for the health care workers, who attended to more than just her physical illness. I received regular updates from doctors and the social workers.Thank you for all you have done for my mom in order to nurse her back to health.Its conforting to know that there are people our there who still care for others.God bless each of you especially the ones who tended to her.

I would like to thank each and every staff member at Brackengate Care Facility for taking such good care of my mom of 82 years. We as her children did not know what to expect when she was transferred there from Somerset Hospital with Covid Pheumonia and was anxious mainly because we did not know much about the facility. What made it worse was not being able to see or talk to her, BUT she had nothing but praise about her stay when she was discharged 2 weeks later. We were called every 2nd day with an update or whenever we needed one and the social worker made sure we had a video call with her which brought us so much comfort. The staff not just takes care of the patients professionally, but spiritually aswell. A nation that prayers together, stays together. I do not want to single out anyone, so once again...., thank you ALL. GOD BLESS YOU!

I was in a very bad condition with covid pneumonia at Karl Bremer hospital where I received excellent care they transferred me to brackengate when I just need a little more oxygen here my experience was horrific..The doctors are the worst have no compassion kept telling different stories to myself and husband.the way you get spoken to is so bad and this facility was a really horrible place to be at .Alan Winde you need to investigate further into this place.there is no so thing as privacy at this place you wash and have to wee with men walking by at any time too. You already sick then you feel like you not even human either. Covid affects your health and your mental health be more compassionate

Many thanks to all the staff who assisted and supported our Dad during his hospitalization in Brackengate Intermediate Care Facility. Special thanks to Doctors Kusher and Heukelman who went the extra mile by doing extra tests so that his medication could be adjusted to improve his quality of life after Covid. We are deeply grateful to you that you not only accepted that Dad was old and sick and left him on his own, but identified the problem so much so that Dad could also start breathing on his own without the oxygen machine.We serve a wonderful Father and will be eternally grateful to Him, but also know that He has put doctors on earth in place to truly make a difference in the lives of others. I couldnt believe what happen at this facility. It is with great concern to hear how covid patients are being treated. I lost a brother and sister at this hospital my mother and daughter came home with the most frightning stories ever. My mom was treated so bad that after 2 weeks she still cries and find it difficult to explain how bad it was. Allan Winde do you even know or care what really goes on at this hospital. Because families cannot vissit their loved ones we dont know what goes on there but believe me I will not leave it here.

I just want to thank all the personnel from the security guards to the medical staff for the excellent service and treatment they are giving my mother currently at the hospital( andcthat with a smile). Unfortunately with the start of covid last year we lost our jobs and cannot afford medical aids and had no choice but to take my mother to a government hospital. Thank God she was transferred from Somerset to the Brakengate facility because i fear my mother would of lost her fight against covid at somerset hospital(horrible service received). I only have positive feedback about Brackengate. My husband spent 13 days there during January. He received the BEST care..from the cleaning staff..to those that fed him..to the nurses..to the doctors..to the physios..Thank you one and all..you really go above and beyond for those you care for. The phone calls from the doctors that looked after him, I thank you for your warm and friendly disposition, which immediately would put me at ease. I dont take this for granted, many dont experience this even in private hospitals. Thank you also to your receptionists answering the phones..warm and friendly..ending our conversation with please just pray for all our patients. I would not change the experience my husband had at your facility, for him to have gone to any other private/fancier hospital. What he experienced at Brackengate was the best..he couldnt have got better anywhere else xxx

This is a new hospital and what I have experienced so far is a total madhouse, father was transferred to this hospital on Saturday evening and it is today Tuesday afternoon, we do not get any feedback regarding his health, you do not get called back by the doctor, you do not get anyone on the phone and even when you go to the hospital you get stopped and your number taken and said the doctor will contact you, I DO NOT EVEN KNOW IF MY DAD IS STILL ALIVE, WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS HOSPITAL.

I was transferred By Khayelitsha District Hospital while I was waiting for Covid 19 results. The place was good they have professional Drs n Nurses including cleaners. They services really so good, you might be emotional since you are not with your Family n Children, but you come home with smile after the service. Continue with your Good Work

When I go to brackengate I cried so much I felt like a human been I never waited 3 hours for my nappy to be changed I got hot water without asking to wash I thought I was in a 5 star hotel .every sister nurse cleaner smiled .waved. you knew exactly what you had to do they educated all the way .they told you they wanted you to live .the respect they had for the dieing .they kept you alive what and awesome hospital awesome people we helped each other .thank you doctors sister and every one you we outstanding Dr nadoo Thankyou for education you gave me and changing my hospital just in time Im home now getting stronger all the time awesome experience

A heartfelt thanks to All the Staff at Brackengate Intermediate Care Facility, when I was told my husband Norman Adams need to go to Brackengate Hospital I was heartbroken because in my heart I thought I will not see him again because of the stigma that if u go to government hospital for covid19 you don’t really return because you just a number and nobody really cares about you, well today I am in tears of joy that my husband recovered and I know as per Him he was very well taken care of and not to mention the friendly staff that accommodated me and kept me up to date on hes condition and progress, I know for a fact that my Husband got the best treatment similar to what a patient get from a private hospital and for that I thank you from the bottom of my heart. A warm and special thanks to Allen Winde thank you so much for all you have done for Norman, me and my Family and to your Social Worker Emily, thank you for going the extra mile for me I know I couldn’t do this without you, you were there for me when I was at my lowest many blessings over your life and your profession will never forget what you have done for me and my husband Norman Adams. I really dont have words for that place. You dont call it a care facility. My grandmother was there for 3 weeks worsted experiences ever. They didnt wash her and they let her lay in her own poo for 3 days. Im so disgusted by that place. Shes an elderly and this is how they treat people

My uncle will be transported here shortly. We as a family are concerned about him due to his age. The facility looks well equipped and the staff prepared and hands on. Anyone have any reviews around recovery and treatment at this facility to set my and the families minds at ease?

So,Heres my Moms experience at the hospital.She was tested positive for Covid. Shes a diabetic and things were going okay the first week.Going into the 2nd week her sugar reading went up to between 20-25 (which is totally nerve wrecking and knowing she can literally go into a coma)She told me about the Doctor thats been in contact with her and that the Doctor advised that itll be best if she be admitted to the Hospital.She stayed in hospital for 3 and a half days and she cannot get over the fact that everybody at the hospital knew their story. They were so helpful.I just want to say thank you so much to Dr. De Bruin and all the other medical personnel involved that helped my Mom to the best of their ability.You read and hear a lot of horror stories about medical facilities that ill treat their patients but given the time we live in (with this virus), you all at Brackengate Intermediate Hospital really go above and beyond for your patients👏🌻Well done and thank you 🙏🌻

My husband has been admitted to this hospital a few days ago and i am so grateful to the doctors and staff they are really dedicated and so helpful the front line team at this hospital is really a gift from the almighty, they are so hands on and they update you constantly more than 5 times a day just to reassure you that your loved ones are in good hands so i just want to say thank you so very much to all of you and please stay blessed and look after yourselves as well thank you so much from the Erickson family much love

Both my parents were at the facility. They speak highly of all the Drs, nurses, carers and staff who assisted and aided in their journey . I could not be there to take care of them yet in their 2 weeks admission , they recovered and with each day they getting stronger . A thank you is not enough! Its a team of angels!

My grandmother was admitted at this facility and unfortunately she had a worst experience on how she was treated.she recalls how they could only give others food and exclude her,how they changed the beddings of other people and leave hers unattended,she recalls how she fell when going to the toilet without being helped.it really pains and saddens me hearing about this.Thanks to this other patient (name withheld) who was close to her and helped her most of the times.if it wasnt for this lady I dont know.So terrible!

My Dad arrived there on Tuesday. I thought, this is great service, because they let me know that he got there safely. That was also the last service we received. We get no feedback unless I call then I can only talk to a sister or a clerk who can not actually give answers. Thursday night when I got a little unhappy, then the Dr called back quickly. I have tried to call 12 times this morning, they just do not answer their phones. I really hope the review comes out to the right people. We haveFamilies there cut off from the world. Put yourselves in our shoes. Daatr promised me that we would get a video call to talk to Dad. Its almost a week and nothing happens
