I had a registry with a few other places and yuppiechef was the best by far! The staff instore at the waterfront were also wonderful! Their prices are great. I bought a Bosch mixer from Yuppiechef. The metal bowl and several attachments rusted while I had it. Returning the item was painful, requiring several reminder emails from me over a period of months. Eventually I was told that I wouldnt get a refund because the supplier (Bosch distributor I guess) would not replace it - apparently they thought it had been exposed to some chemical (it wasnt) and they had never seen this before. I will now only buy from Takealot. They may not always have the best deals, but you always get your money back.

Amazing online home store. They have lots of home gadgets that make your life easier as well as top end and stylish appliances. Your order comes in cute neat packaging with a sweet little note from the yuppie chef team. Orders are delivered on time and you don’t have to wait weeks on end for your online order. They are abit on the pricey side though. Still love them and love browsing their website.

It just feels like the brand is just trying to continue to take orders and just not looking to deal with current issues. Would not recommend this brand.

Yuppie Chefs on line shopping is a scam. The website cleary states items are IN STOCK and 2-4 days to be dispatched for delivery from them. The truth is,they have to first source the items from the suppliers and only when they receive the items from the supplier can they send to the purchaser. When I stated that the availability and delivery time was a false statement,and that they were enticing transactions dishonestly, was told by the manager Ursula that they are aware of that people are being misled ,but need to come to a resolve as to how to make it more clear. What is more clear than the fact that they are taking payment for items that they do not have in stock,and even worse,that they are aware that customers are being misled.

Worst experience ever, parcel was send day after payment. To date no luck with courier,3 days it is apparently out on delivery, but nothing received. Try call them, you are just on hold. Contacted Yuppiechef,no response. I want to say poor service but it is no service at all, wouldnt recommend wasting your money on this siteThank you for the reply,but I am also following up with courier to no avail, and have received no response from your office,my order nr YC4879670, at this stage I can only see this as a complete waste of my money!!

Hi,I will never order from Yuppiechef ever again. I ordered from them on the 26th of May and I have not received the order. Its going to be the 3rd week. Its really unacceptable. I have tried calling their contact numbers and they ring a few times then state that someone is on the line. I am a first time buyer and I am utterly disappointed at their delivery services. I use Take a lot and other services quite a lot. They have never taken this long. They usually take 2 to 3 days. Then I requested a cancellation. There has not been any communication from them. I also read on their website, that it takes 8-10 days to process this. Are they in the stone ages for them to process in such a manner. Its all nice to shop from them up to a point, but the moment something breaks, then there is no customer service! Its been a month now back and forth with them about a broken item which I still have not received back after paying for the repair myself (and the unit broke twice now within the warranty period!). Nobody seems to care to follow up, and yet making empty promises they cannot keep. I will not be buying from yuppiechef again, after years of shopping! Lets hope I get the product back this year still!

When I did live chat on their website, the person chatting with me keeps insisting that this is not true, that I am confused with another item. but she did find the right item in my shopping basket...

In the 5 years of being a customer of Yuppiechef I can honestly say MY FAVOURITE! To start I was a subscriber of their FOMO box ( Fear Of Missing Out) for 4 years, a yearly gift from my fiance for my birthday, and loved that every month I was able to try everything new to the culinary world, from spices to gadgets, wines, sweet treats, olive oils, preserves and always something new to show to others as a first to now and have, lol. Always came beautifully presented in its own unique box, felt like recieving a gift box every month. Sadly had to give it up when I lost my Fiance to Sudden Heart failure, but even then they helped immediately with all my worries in cancelling his debit order and sent me a box end of month with hand written condolences card, always that personal touch that lets you know they care. Each time they are prompt with their responses, I always get a handwritten not to apologize (even though both times have been the fault of the manufacturer) and so much attention to detail.

Poor customer service.Nobody bothers to communicate with clients. I placed my order on Tuesday last week for collection Thursday for my wifes birthday friday. Never received my collection email so I had to call in to find out what was going on. Only to be told, oh sorry sir but 2 items arent available so your order isnt ready yet. I then said to part pack what was available which I then could only collect on Friday afternoon and asked them to please let me know what was happening with the last 2 items.Again no communication. I called in now only to be told that one of 2 remaining items is only due on the 18th and the other is out of stock at the supplier and they dont know when they will get more. These are Items that their system said in are stock and ships within 1 to 2 days when I placed my order.Its really sad how people go work for a company and dont care about anything except their paycheck. No care for clients or company reputation.Very disappointed.

Numerous emails, follow ups, phone calls between both parties, just got tired of it all. Had an interesting discussion with an online chat agent. So they sell an item at 30% more than their competitors and will not even consider lowering their price, never mind match the competitors price.Yes, their delivery service is great and I agree that better service comes at a higher price, but you cant boast about good customer service when you sell your items at prices that are simply ridiculous.

I had to change my collection point because my item wouldnt arrive before Christmas, Hamida Southgate from the Westlake branch managed to arranged everything during this busy period. The person whom i asked to collect my package was very impressed by the service of Yuppiechef.Excellent service.

Worst online shopping experience , and I do most of my shopping online. Ordered some stuff on the 17th Feb . On the 21 Feb after contacting Yuppiechef I was told that stock would be arriving by Monday. Contacted them the following thursday and was told that my order is being prepared and getting ready to ship(no time frame given - Keenan). I called Yuppiechef who then told me that stock for 1 of the items was expected in 25 days. So I told them to change to item. After further promises that I would receive the package the following monday I was once again disappointed/lied to. Package eventually arrived on wednesday , with an item missing (OXO 180ml glass container). I find it hard to believe that a team of adults can make so many mistakes on 1 order. I use takealot , amazon and le creusette online quite frequently and have never had communication and service as poor as this. Apart from all of this I was offered no compensation as to what has happened. I notice that Takealot was formed well after Yuppiechef but just look at the professionalism they live up to. Please deliver what I have paid for.

I ordered a few items that were on clearance sale. These guys were very attentive and offered to get the refill filters, for the water bottle I got, in from the supplier in the future even though Yuppiechef are discontinuing selling it due to insufficient demand. Thats what I call customer service! Should they not carry through on their promise in future, Ill ne sure to update this review, but I highly doubt Ill need to. Thanks Yuppiechef!
