Probably not the most comfortable place to get a massage if youre pregnant. Friendly staff. Massages were good depending on the member of staff is assigned to you. Products all smell the same. Whether its a scrub, oil or massage oil. They all smell like bubblegum. Breakfast is average. Lunch was good. Dessert was also good. Would suggest doing half day instead of full day. There are a lot of repetitive massages for a full day.

I visited the Bakwena Day Spa at Zevenwacht Wine Farm for a morning Spa treatment on Saturday 10/7/21. Although the experience was great I forgot to take my precious gold chain and cross off before the treatments and realizing that the lockers did not have dedicated keys - the keys could open all the lockers - I decided to put my chain in the gown pocket. To my horror I discovered on Saturday evening that I had left my chain in the gown pocket and forgot to remove it before leaving after my treatments. I have telephoned the spa several times but I have not had any response as yet! I have left message upon message but with no luck. I had the cross made specially for me in 1985 and the chain is one of a kind given to me by my dad and has great sentimental value.I am devastated to say the least - I wear this chain constantly and never take it off

The massages was awesome, the full body hot stone was next level... The vibe was very relaxing and the staff very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely visit again.

Ive been booking Spa days for my wife since 2008. Definitely not what it used to be...you cant deal directly with this branch anymore and the central booking service is horrible - I had a fight with them wrt my invoice. I realized that Im not valued as a customer. My wife however is always in awe with the staffs service at the Spa itself. Also, no food are being served any longer, yet prices remained the same. This was however her (and sister and friends) very last visit as there are so much better options, which are cheaper and better value for money. Its just sad to see in this current economic climate that companies arent prepared to do a little better.

Went there with friends for my pre- birthday celebrations. The staff are all very friendly from reception unto the ladies doing the treatments. The spa is very neat and the atmosphere relaxing. Special thanks to Janalisa who did the full body massage. Spectacular scenery from the top of the hill. The road up to the spa is a nightmare and can damage your car.

My wife and I visited Bakwena today for a spa indulgence and we really enjoyed ALL the treatments. Well done Bakwena - we will be back for MORE..!!

Had an amazing experience. Staff friendly and professional. Spa therapists are exceptional. My friend and I enjoyed every minute. Would most definitely visit again. Bakwena Day Spa is situated amongst the most spectacular views. The ladies even sang a few songs for us. Food & drinks also great. I highly recommend them.

Really enjoyed my full day spa experience. Atmosphere was great and the ladies were amazing. Breakfast and lunch was good. I would of given it 5 stars but I didnt enjoy the drive on the gravel road. Its quite bumpy and a long distance

Friendly staff and treatment was good overall! Just WISH they would warn people beforehand about the bumpy gravel road. They seem to have a taxi that could take you up- I feel clients need to be informed about that road and given the option to take the spas taxi instead of your car!!

Despite the weather, I had a lovely time at the morning half day spa at Bakwena Day Spa. The staff were friendly and informative. The breakfast was sufficient. The time between treatments were a bit quick and felt a bit rushed - there was barely time to have a drink of water between treatments. I didnt enjoy my full body massage, but I believe it was an isolated thing so I wont let it affect this review - they had a comments card on which I addressed the issue. Hopefully they will give me feedback regarding it. It was good value for money and I came out of it feeling relaxed in the end. The decor was stunning and the whole feel of the place was relaxing. The head, neck and shoulders massage was my favourite. Be prepared for the gravel road leading up to the Spa, I wish I was warned. It is steep and bumpy and could get muddy with rain

The best experience. Ive been for the half day afternoon treatment before but the night under the stars is the best. Watching the sunset while getting the treatments done is an added bonus. The atmosphere, the food, the staff. Everything was great.

The light breakfast was filling. We started with the foot massage, which I think was by far the best I have ever experienced. Cindy did an astounding job, I could feel the tension being released from my body as he did each foot.We then went for neck and head massage and full body afterwards. Both were very good.Changing/ locker room and shower was clean and well kept.The staff were all friendly and helpful.

We keep on going back. Unlike some of the other day spas we always go back to Bakwena, Zevenwacht. Never dissatisfied with the level of service from the therapists, entertainment, good food and hospitality staff.

Interesting concept, a massage parlor sausage factory of sorts. On arrival, after quite a treacherous of road to reach Bakwena Day Spa, you are given a warm snuggly gown and towel, a locker for your personals, and are directed to join other gown clad patrons for lunch or breakfast in the dining room (depending on your package). Youre then entertained with loud energetic song and dance by the spa staff (all women) which is a unique touch. Youre called to 3 different massages over a 4 hour period, a foot, then neck and shoulder, then full body massage, with short breaks in-between which are spent in the dining room or around the small open air pool where, where liquid refreshments are available. All massages, except for the full body, are performed in a row with other patrons. The therapy rooms overlook beautiful winelands, but I noted that the chairs for the foot massage were wooden and a little uncomfortable. The staff are well trained but I did feel a little disappointed with my full body masseuse who, I felt was just going through the motions. The shoulder and neck masseuse was however incredible. It all felt a little strange to me, being with about 12 strangers at a time, going from massage room to massage room, but once I relaxed and got into the flow, I didnt want it to end. The package was R1600 for two people which is really good value considering. Look out for specials.

Love this place. I recommend getting a taxi from canal walk cause it’s rather far to drive and bumpy road . Google maps also doesn’t help.

I had the half day spa package and the experience was really great. Booking was easy and the therapists were friendly and attentive. The restuarant was spacious with a roaring fire and the food served (I opted for the afternoon session) was delicious with a variety of liquid beverages on hand. Stunning views of Table Mountain and Zevenwaght vineyards. The only negative for me was 2km the dirt road to get there. Will visit again.

We had a wonderful and relaxing day celebrating our anniversary at Bakwena Spa. It was a misty morning driving through the wine farm which cleared up to views of Table mountain and the ocean on both sides of it. It was just beautiful! The rooms are quite old and could do with a revamp but it is clean. The ladies did a good job pampering us and the food and service was lovely! Thanks!

Bakwena situated in Zevenwacht area is a day spa that offers a range of massages, breakfast and/or lunch. Snacks and complimentary drinks are included dependant on the package you chose. The food served is filling and delicious and caters for a variety of people. The view surrounding the spa is simply breathtaking. Its tranquil and peaceful, suited for the spa environment. Upon arrival you are provided with a complimentary beverage and taken to the changing rooms where a gown and slippers are provided for you to wear. You are given a set table for your entire visit and the staff collect you and take you to your various treatments. The massages are definitely worth experiencing. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. I would definitely encourage people to try Bakwena Day Spa.

The treatments was amazing. Everything including lunch or breakfast included in the price great value for money. Will definitely go back there. The menu needs a bit of an update.

Treatment was good but very disappointed that we were not informed beforehand that the electricity was down and given the option to change our date.We couldnt see anything, there was no back ground music so when chatting at your dinner with your husband, all the other guests could listen to your conversation.In short it was an awkward experience and we couldnt enjoy the view.

Had a girls spa day and the moment you stepped in by the front door, the aromas gets you hooked. The bathrooms/lockers are clean, neat and tidy, the amenities in the bathroom are nice and well presented. Pool deck area is not that big but its clean. Dinning area could be brighten up a bit. Had the neck/shoulder, full body hot stone and leg/feet treatments, was amazing! Staff is well trained and made me feel comfortable. The views of specific treatment rooms are just beautiful, with a glass of unlimited champagne, makes it even better. Peaceful and quiet,will definitely be returning!

Half day or full day spa, which are either 3 or 6 treatments. Meals and selected drinks included. Treatments are 50mins each and usually starts every hour on the hour with a 10 min break in between. Staff are friendly, some more than others. Food is okay. Vibe is good. Gravel/dirt road of 1.7kms from Zevenwacht, so your car will be dirty

Breakfast wasnt interesting...no variety and only one hairdryer for all the people. Therapist didnt ask if I needed a blanket and was cold during my full body massage.

My sisters and I had the full spa day package. The treatments are lovely but really depends on the therapist you get as some of them you can feel they dont really want to do this. But overall a lovely time out to share with loved ones or friends.

Very unwelcoming! Wasn’t worth the money. Got there early as we were told to come early for the screening, which took a minute (no smiles what so ever at the reception) and we were told to go sit at the couches, No welcome , no introduction, no drinks offered ( website mentions of drinks being included ) finally a lady comes and walks us to the massage area. Thats it. You on your own before and after. Having no clue where is what and what to do. “ booked for a 50 minutes session for the experience first and was planning on booking for a whole day as a friend recommended/reading the reviews but I wouldn’t ever go again or advise anyone!”

A friend gifted me a day out here for my birthday. Was really a great gift. Time just went by too quickly. Everything was planned to the T and there was more than enough snacks for all the guests. What a treat.

The staff are really friendly but the spa was very disappointing otherwise. Mr Nibbles was cool for a first time experience but short lived, it really didnt make a difference and I really wouldnt do it again. The full body exfoliation treatment was also mediocre and my skin felt the same afterwards. I didnt feel pampered and relaxed. I wouldnt visit this spa again, even though the drive there is beeeaautiful and the overall concept is cool, execution is really somewhat bleh. Actually surprised to see how many reviews it has over 2 stars.... its pretty, but its not a spa experience. and some of the finishes are a bit tacky if i could put it that way.

Great location but unless you have a 4x4 perhaps take the shuttle once on the estate - recent rains have hammered the dirt roads up to the spa which sits on a hill. (Great views).Was very busy when we went (public holidays do that I guess) but they coped well. Took my daughter for a half day package which included lunch and three treatments. Cold day but a lovely wood fire in dining area kept out the chill. Food was average, hot stone massage was fabulous, as was the Indian head and neck. Calf and leg massage - the masseuse lost track of time so only one leg/foot got done. I would go again but not on public holiday or weekend. Try it for a mid-week treat/break.

Ive been to 5 star Salons before hence the low rating. The staff save this place, they are helpful, friendly and kind. Though a tad inexperienced. The massages were not the best. You can feel the uncertainty and the fumbling. But they do try their very best. Im am aware of the need for efficiency but the time between treatments is not great and doesnt allow guests to enjoy the beauty of the premises, or for conversation over a drink.The rush from treatment for treatment causes a bit of stress as you are torn between ordering a drink or going to the ladies. Somewhat felt like we were on a conveyor belt. But at R699 for a half day package I guess its not too bad. The food could be better too though but it was home-cooked tasty. Not spa worthy though... Overall it was pleasant though. Will I go back? I am doubtful.

The atmosphere is tranquil and inviting, the therapists are magnificent and friendly. The facilities are beautiful and eco-friendly.I keep coming back again and again.Breakfast is not up to standard, but lunch is delicious.Tip: opt for a half day package, I always find the full day a little too much for the senses. One does get tired from all the pampering.
